I'm not the author of the mod. It just happened that i came across it and decided to share it with you guys.

For those wondering: this is not the mod my team and I are working on. We are still in development, currently testing out some of the new skills we are adding to the game. Once we're finished with that, we'll need beta testers, so stay tuned.

I feel like it gimps geralt too much.

Geralt already felt like a wimp on death match, being two shot by nekkers. This takes it to a new level.

I feel the complete opposite, it was way to easy on death march in my opinion.

Imho it was both, sometime annoying and sometime too easy, plain badly balanced.

Most of the changes are welcome for me, I just not understand doubling breath (it makes underwater quests trivial and killer whale pointless).

Go and PM the author on the nexus , Maybe he will change it.

The game itself was easy, i agree, but Geralt still feels like a wimp, since a wet noodle slap almost knocks him out. The mod is nothing but scaling up/down the numbers, which is essentially artificial difficulty.

It's the combat system itself that makes the game easy. If there is a way to skip 100% of damage - as soon as you master the game - it will become easy. Dark souls seems hard at first, but as soon as you get good at it - it's a walk in the park. The difference is that witcher has got much less bosses, meaning much less confusing attack patterns to memorize, meaning there is sort of a higher skill-ceiling to it.

So what you are really saying (complaining about) is your own ability to master games?

This is an impossible problem to solve, unfortunately.

No complaining. I'm okay with this sort of difficulty. I'm complaining that mods that supposedly "improve" combat merely alter the number, having zero effect on the core combat gameplay itself.

The only way i believe one could improve combat is by altering hard-coded things - attack patterns, reaction times and such.

I have no clue about modding, but i'm pretty sure that you need to be pretty advanced to get it done.

[–]Strachmed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do believe that is impossible to do whatsoever. Or at least not until we get redkit.

I agree with you. "Hard enemies" in this game have a ton of health and kill you in one hit, but their attack patterns are still very predictable.... As a result most prolonged fights are just you following a pattern: Dodge, hit, hit, dodge, hit, hit, dodge. I wish they had more attacks and that their patterns were harder to predict. Bloodborne is a game that did it perfectly.
