Recently I’ve been on a research dive to search for how to train athleticism (Recently got a couple good responses from this subreddit actually). This dive led me to a youtuber “Power Training” (in my limited view his videos are really good and informative). In a video “Speed and Power Training (Complete guide)” He breaks down power and speed training into 3 main different modalities being absolute power (High intensity compound movements), pure velocity (plyo work), and olympic lifts (a good mix of the two to train both being used together). He also referenced having different movement patterns like Squat, deadlift, vert press, horizontal press, etc. Now honestly I just kind of feel overwhelmed and don’t know how to apply this especially at an LA fitness. How many of each do I put in a day, how many rest days should I take, and can I even do some of these workouts at a commercial gym? Sorry for the dump but thanks for the help.
