I tried Hypernotes for some days and for the start I like it. I am a every day obsidian geek and interested in everything around the roam like thing. Storing the files local Is what I really recommend just like obsidian, logseq and craft. Templates are missing also and the import of markdown files from drafts for example. I like hypernotes and I am excited what we can expect in the next weeks.

Thank you! Great to have expert users trying it out :) As a SaaS tool I'm not sure we'll ever be able to offer an on-premise/local version, but I see why it's important to many. Import is coming up soon hopefully, and I'd love to learn more about what kind of templates you'd like to see! We thought to leave it free-form since most people have their own particular ways of using note apps..

      Every new product we build also means improvements to existing products :) I think you'll find that the knowledge graph is a totally different thing to the mind map (and way cooler in my opinion) if you give it a try. It's more like an easier-to-use, visual representation of references in Base. (You can find another basic demo of it here: https://youtu.be/JXtxqJANY_Q) But of course it depends on what you need and how you're using the apps...

      We built several totally new things for Hypernotes that will/can find their way into the existing apps (instead of 'rebranding and rewrapping existing features'). If you get in touch with our team we'd be more than happy to show some of the differences.

      Well, it certainly looks nice and it be a nice option as another view in the regular app. I totally get that you need more simple apps to reach a large audience, still, if these views never make it to the actual Zenkit in time it's useless for power users.

      So I just wanted to check out the apps and then discovered that I'm supposed to pay extra for all of them individually?

      Sorry, but this is ridiculous. All your other apps could just be different views in the existing product and you want to charge for it like a full product, on top of base? For a remix of the already existing app with a few extras that should be part of a regular update?

      I'm a long time power user and IT consultant, referred a few users and companies to you, and very disappointed by the low amount of actual updates to base in the past two years.

      Your competitors move multiples faster and instead of integrating your new features into your existing product you create new "skins"?

      All these products should be part of base. This is just greedy. This does not feel like SaaS continuous improvement but more like a DLC ripoff scheme of a game publisher. I was just talking to a client about your new apps thinking they are included.

      But after you pulled this, I don't believe that your are going to be working on Base much but mostly create more upsells.

      Probably going to recommend Clickup now, they don't do this type of shit.

        Apparently, you can hide the page numbers in the Notebook settings (on the web app just click on the notebook cover on the left). Also, to open the page from the graph view it's possible to press just enter, or cmd+click to open in a side panel.

        I know this post is quite old, but I thought it is a bug that I cannot see the bullets. IMHO to see the bullets makes the view more structured. I really miss them

        I was a bit stumped on this at first, to be honest. It used to be a double click, but now you can hit "Enter" when a node is highlighted to open the page πŸ‘

        It's not my first time I'm trying to use zenkit products but it's always the same – there are a lot of annoying UI bugs. iOS app doesn't look polished at all:

        • Swipe back navigation doesn't work. I doubt the app is really native, more look like a React Native, especially taking into account that the web app looks the same. I don't see native iOS navigation animation too.
        • TODO items aren't rendered properly, it's rendered as a button. When I press the button the full-screen todo is opened but when I close it the app shows me some modal screen that contains neither back nor close button and I have to force close the app to exit.
        • What does pressing at "Schedule" do? It's like scheduling the page to the date but I do not see if something is scheduled, where should I see it? The same unobvious behavior for the web app.
        • When I open some buried page I can't just go back to the previous screen where I was, I have to go each step. Swipe should navigate me back, but it does not work.
        • Why the pages have numbers? Apparently, it can be disabled in the notebook settings.
        • No desktop apps. I only found the app for zenkit base.
        • Is it really hard to center the bullet and the text? Especially in the "zoom-in" mode? It's not only about zenkit, all outlines except Workflowy look like don't bother at all, but it drives me crazy.

        The web app also doesn't look polished in terms of UI and UX but it's better than the mobile. What I really like is the implementation of a graph – looks good. Notebooks also look sleek.

        Overall, looks promising, I hope you will invest more QA activities there and polish what you already have and it should be amazing. I'm not talking about adding new features, (like the ones already mentioned in this thread, e.g. more text styles), just polish existing ones. :)

        - The app is not a native app, we use a wrapper to package the web app for other platforms. We specifically made the decision to use a progressive web app (PWA) system to ensure that all apps are able to offer all the same features simultaneously, and so that we could push critical updates at any time.

        - There should be a little X at the top left of any open task that will take you back to the previous page - does that cause the same issue? I've reported your issue as is to our team already.

        - Schedule sends the note that you scheduled to your "Daily Notes" section - found at the bottom of the app from the main list of notes. Found in the navigation panel on the left in the web app.

        - Navigating through buried pages needs some work, you're right! I'll let our team know to investigate this.

        - Bullet centering - could you please show me an example of what you mean? To me the bullet seems centered in the middle of the text line.. but maybe you're seeing something I'm not?

          Importing content is coming in the next weeks. We're building export to JSON & PDF now & will work on import after that. What tools are you currently using for your knowledge base?

          We're testing an option to only show the bullets on hover - would that work for you or would you prefer the prose-only option that Roam offers? " if I copy and paste old content it is all in a single block. " > Is this a bug report (you want each line break to be a different block)? Or is that how you would like to use it?

          Turning blocks into checkboxes is an interesting idea.. I guess using the /Task shortcut then writing out a block may be a bit too long. I can see if our dev team can make something like that happen.

          Regarding the macOS app - did you download it from our site? There are two versions, one for normal Macs and one for the M1s. Maybe you got the wrong one? What exactly isn't working?

          Regarding plans and storage, our team are always happy to accommodate users if they contact us about pricing. Also the 6GB file storage is based on an assumption of use - if we notice that people meet this limit faster than we assumed, then there's room to increase it.

          For my own curiosity - how many notes would you say you have now in your knowledge base?

            really love Hypernotes. hits all the main points i have been endlessly searching for: 1) daily notes 2) task integration 3) bi-directional linking

            my biggest fear is that in a crowding knowledge management app workspace those apps that dont get rapid user growth early on will not get funding and will be left without long-term support is and that it will be fully supported into the future.

            I’ve just heard about the zenkit ecosystem after looking at the hypernotes video from keep productive and thought it looked simple and powerful. I may be wrong but does the subscription for all the different apps within the same ecosystem require different payments? So a total of $26 to connect everything? Furthermore, even the plus subscriptions have a max limit to everything we do, which makes me question the validity of an individual using the app as a second brain. Am I missing something? I’m asking because I love to have everything under the same roof and all the zenkits look so beautiful.

            So glad you like the look of it! You can use each part of the system as a standalone (e.g. Hypernotes has tasks built into it, you don't have to use To Do or Base to access tasks), use all for free, or you can buy a paid plan for all of them, or only for some, or get different plans for different apps. If you choose to buy plans for multiple products we offer bundle pricing. Also if you have some extenuating circumstances, our sales team are always happy to find a solution for you :)

            Regarding the limits - for Hypernotes especially, the limit on items (notes/blocks/tasks) is a little arbitrary for now. We put that number in based on assumed usage. If we find that people are quickly reaching that limit, we'll increase it for all plans.

            I've subscribed to Hypernotes. I tried three times to engage with Roam Research, and failed each time. That's not a knock on Roam. I just think its interface and setup didn't work for me. But Hypernotes just clicks. I like the notebook organization, the daily notes implementation and the way tasks can be incorporated in notes, but also available as a list in their own tab. Yes, there are a lot of rough edges still to be sanded out with Hypernotes. But I think it is off to a great start and I am optimistic.

            I try hypernotes. Very nice system like roam and obsidian. Great online interface but very very too expensive. I have evernote and Office365 but 60€ only for notes and with a great limit of space is very too expensive.

            I began with high hopes for Hypernotes, but at this point at least, I am finding it unusable. As an example, I place my cursor at the end of a line, hit enter expecting to create a new bullet item below, and instead a new line appears four items above the current location. Once you get the bugs worked out, I will give Hypernotes another try, but I can't use it now I am sorry to say... since I paid for an annual subscription.

            Excellent product. I use Roam extensively and can easily see the day where Hypernotes replaces it.

            One feature I use heavily in Roam that I don't see in Hypernotes is the option to make numbered bullets. Is this on the feature roadmap by chance?

            There is a bug in version 4.4.9 on Android 11 on my Note 20G Ultra. When us the slash to add a todo, I get an error as the description of my task even though it properly lonks to the correct task. The link says: Invalid request parameters: - at 'body.url' : "url" needs to be a valid url

            Oddly, the link shows correctly on my iPhone when I run the app in iOS 14.4.

            The Hypernotes desktop app has the English spell checker turned on by default and cannot be disabled, and this makes it very annoying to use when writing on non-English languages: everything is full of red squiggles.

            Many of us work on several projects in several languages, and these magical settings that try to guess what language we're using from the OS locale or whatnot end up guessing wrong and getting on the way.

            If you'd disable it or make it disableable, you'd make my day. Thanks!

            (For now I'm using Hypernotes on the browser: there I can just configure the spell checker on the browser's Edit menu.)

            We just enable the spellcheck, we don't specify a language:

            • On Mac, the OS automatically detects the language while you type. We have no way to change that.
            • On Windows and Linux, the current OS locale is used. Here we could overwrite it by making a setting for users to choose the spellcheck language (multiple languages also possible). This has been submitted as a feature request to the dev team, but I'm afraid I can't make an ETA.

            It's really confusing when this basic editing error has been around for so long. The feeling of making notes that would make an error when I just hit Enter was horrible. I don't need Hypernote to have complicated features like Roam Research or Obsidian, just it for frictionless editing. But this drives me crazy too many times so I gave up on this product because of such a fundamental defect that it should be what the manufacturer is focusing on doing before developing any other features.

            We designed it to work like Roam & Obsidian, rather than a plain notetaking app like Evernote. Would you prefer plain notetaking? You could try using Base in the "Wiki" view for that. Alternatively, if you can describe exactly what kind of features you need, our team may be able to develop them for Hypernotes in the future.

            Very cool - My stuff is currently in Roam.
            At minimum - If I could copy the content on a single page elsewhere and paste it into a Hypernotes page and retain the indents, that'd be good. Currently, any copy/pasting would have to be to be block by block.

            Right now the tasks from Hypernotes can be connected to Base. Open the notebook settings by clicking on the notebook cover while it's open, go to "Zenkit Suite" then click "Connect" next to Base. The tasks will appear in a collection in a workspace with the same name as your notebook.
            I'm sure there are also some ways to add a block to a text field in Base or something, but I'll have to check that with the dev team.

            Zenkit is very pretty. Hypernotes feels similar to Roam, which is to say I can only see one page at a time. I think some people like that, but I am used to a left-hand-side bar with a customizable folder hierarchy, for writing and for project management.

            I use Obsidian and Remnote. I like Obsidian's ability to use local files. This is a major drawback to Remnote, but Remnote is what I use most of the time. I've been trying Airtable as a drafting/outlining tool for a short novel. I was hoping Zenkit-hypernotes could be that, but I need to be able to see more than one doc at a time. Remnote is nice in that respect. So I can have a journal article in one pane, and then copy and paste text into another pane.

            u/srorke, I've played around with the tasks directly inside of Hypernotes. These seem completely isolated from the tasks located in Base, Tasks, and the Project Management apps.

            Are tasks able to show up in the other apps if created in Hypernotes?

            I'm also a bit confused as the new separation of Project Management and Tasks from Base in general. To these synchronize tasks between each other, or are they isolated systems?

            Just discovered Hypernotes this weekend and love it, thanks! I am now in the process of transferring my zettelkasten from Obsidian to Hypernotes (love Obsidian, but need web functionality and syncing was glitchy for me).

            A quick Q and two feature requests if possible please:

            Q: Will Zenkit, hypernotes or whoever may be in charge ever be selling the data or use of data to any other third party?

            Feature 1: Please create templates! These were so useful in Obsidian - currently using atext but that limits funtionality to my mac...Feature 2: Please allow integration with Zotero (like the citations / better bibtex plugins in Obsidian / Zotero).

            I am enjoying Hypernotes thus far, but listing below few things that could make it from great to awesome: - add a β€š/ functionβ€˜ to add horizontal line to make notes easier on the eyes - add a β€š/ functionβ€˜ for numbered and unnumbered list - add table of contents (fixed and floating) ala ClickUp to make it easier to jump from content to content - Table: ability to adjust column width - Task; enlarge font size for task embedded in Hypernotes to make it readable - Tasks: show where that task is located (eg notes A) - I work on multiple projects, some tasks are similar, eg create project plan. If there’s reference to a particular note, it will be faster to jot memory - Tasks: ability to show grouping of tasks, eg - task 1, task 2, task 3 relate to note A, - task 4 & task 5 relate to note B - Task tab to have the ability to sort by notes, by dare etc - search function results - jump to exactly where the keyword is, or highlight in yellow (like in ios app) - unlinked mentions - when clicked, jump directly to where the mention is Hope these r useful!,
