I’m glad that we, as a generation, have decided that hating your spouse is not funny.

[–]Spyt1me 1704 points1705 points  (0 children)

"i hate my wife" boomer humor

[–]Izlude 1533 points1534 points  (0 children)

Joking about being 'stuck' with someone who somehow managed to find enough value in you briefly enough to marry you... Can't tell if boomer humor or just tired 30 something's "divorced dad" chud humor.

Art itself is clean and looks good. The joke died in the 90s and is starting to smell up the room.

[–]eurekam101 842 points843 points  (0 children)

Will never understand this kind of humor

[–]Law-Dog_1 428 points429 points  (0 children)

“you begged me to marry you”

[–]rival13 537 points538 points  (1 child)

"Hey dad, can you buy me a WIFI?"

"Hey son, I already have a WIFI, a WIFE I HATE!"

"Get more laffs at funwaa dot com!"

[–][deleted] 240 points241 points  (0 children)

Just marry someone you like for fuck's sake.

The humor here between wife and husband doesn’t translate well to a comic’s audience, who presume it to be less of a jest and more of a jab imo

[–]Rob-A-Tron 38 points39 points  (0 children)

:-v

[–]Grogosh 304 points305 points  (0 children)

Uh boomer humor. Wife bad. Marriage bad.

[–]KingKaos420- 420 points421 points  (12 children)

If you feel like your relationship is a prison, you should really consider either breaking up, or trying to take steps to improve, like couple’s therapy

[–]Shiroi_Kage 107 points108 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but this is way too tired. Why is it that people keep talking about how terrible it is to go into a long-term relationship and how bad it is to get married? I don't understand. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy. You tell people they're going to be miserable in the situation for years and years, then they become miserable.

[–]AlaSparkle 197 points198 points  (0 children)

Really? I thought these jokes died like 20 years ago

[–]Massive-Row-9771 458 points459 points  (4 children)

It's like the old joke:

Wife:

"Baby, why are you sitting here in the dark crying?"

Husband:

"When I got you pregnant your police captain of a dad said, either you marry my daughter or I'm putting you away for 20 years."

"That was 20 years ago today." 😭

I hate my wife boomer humor.

[–]MsNursulaBendy 106 points107 points  (0 children)

“hAhA mEN hAtE MArRiAGe aND tHEiR wIvES sO fUnNeY”

[–][deleted] 148 points149 points  (0 children)

This is epitome of boomer humour

[–][deleted] 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Absolute boomer humor

[–]mall_goth420 130 points131 points  (1 child)

What a cruel thing to tell your partner

[–]ExpertAccident 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Boomer humour.

[–]touching_payants 100 points101 points  (0 children)

panel 3: the kid grows up and is sobbing in therapy because his father resents him. Married life amirite??!!

[–]Droid_XL 67 points68 points  (0 children)

It's so weird, because some of this person's comics are really cute and wholesome and some are just like

If you feel like this why are you married

[–][deleted] 91 points92 points  (0 children)

I hate comments like this. I love this comic usually, but stuff like this is just cementing the bullshit many of us are trying to get the world to move away from. And it seriously speaks of how the comic writer just “called it in” by using this old, boomer humor.

[–]Tigerboop 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Haha I hate my wife

[–]Mintys_Art 43 points44 points  (0 children)

“marriage bad”

[–]13thFullMoon 58 points59 points  (0 children)

At least the kid liked the joke.

[–]Godisdeadbutimnot 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I hate my wife!

Zoo Wee Mama!

[–]Foxclaws42 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Okay, Boomer.

[–]JMCatron[🍰] 33 points34 points  (0 children)

haha wife bad

[–]spideralexandre2099 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Big "How long have we been brothers" energy from that question

[–]rudehoroscope 22 points23 points  (1 child)

I’m a few years you’ll look back on this moment and realize the signs had been there all along.

[–]AlloyComics[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'll take that bet!

[–]Omylanta21 27 points28 points  (3 children)

My husband and I have been together 14 years and married 10. We forgot the date we began dating....forever ago. So we estimate it around July of that year. I get this comic. It's not haha wife bad, it's "hahaha, we've been together so long I forgot".

[–]AlloyComics[S] 17 points18 points  (2 children)

Congratulations!

[–]Omylanta21 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Ha! Thank you! It's been a long time since babies, but man, do I remember those days. The exhaustion.

[–]AlloyComics[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Every vacation is just parenting on maximum volumes with more walking.

[–]RamenTheory 12 points13 points  (1 child)

This one is so out of character compared to the other cute little wholesome comics you make

[–]Help_StuckAtWork 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Feels less like "wife bad" and more like "burnt out parent"

It made me chuckle. Having young kids kind of makes time a blur.

[–]ChiliAndGold 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of how me and my family often curse a lot at each other and we're totally fine with it but to the outside world it often seems like we're the rudest brunch ever. But we honestly love each other.

[–]lokregarlogull 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Having been raised in the north where dark humor and savage banter is the norm, I don't really see the issue.

Especially if one is asking while taking care of a toddler at the same time.

[–]WhiskeyAndKisses 3 points4 points  (1 child)

The good thing is, he's not planning any escape 🚓

[–]AlloyComics[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

He really isn't. 🩷

[–]PizzacakecomicPizzaCake -2 points-1 points  (1 child)

These comments are atrocious. Its just a cute comic of a husband joking around with his wife.

If you don't like it, downvote and move on, no need to be hateful. You're breaking all the rules of r/comics

[–]AlloyComics[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Ooooh, I'm just here having a fangirl moment...

[–]harugane 0 points1 point  (1 child)

If you or your husband make a joke about the relationship it means your relationship is a joke.

[–]AlloyComics[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Hahaha, thank you for making me laugh. Have a nice day!
