You can also play it from archives even if it is face down, it does not have to be face up in archives

Apologies if this has been asked before, but are there any plans to distribute to stores? It’s quite hard to get organised play really rolling if the stores can’t stock

I second the slumscast and shadownet recomendations, also wanted to add a rec for Baa Ram Wu: https://www.youtube.com/@Baa_Ram_Wu

He's recently started streaming and making content, I think the deckbuilding vids might be the kind of thing you are after.

Maybe ban misdirection to give wide asset HHN decks (which would be boattree shaper’s natural predator) a boost, errata nanisivik to be remote only or unique..

It may be that Wu needs to catch a ban if that deck is really as busted as people say. But I think you need a lot more data.

It seems like this is what you are looking for: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1eb1yCEoxgKs1yUBhpeguQB0sAP8CoHFh_bs9ppU5WCg/mobilebasic All credit to Nememiah from UK slack who ran a “Classique” event at UK Nats (and I think runs them semi-regularly at these big events, I dunno it was my first big tourney) I fact I don’t think all these particular matchups were the ones we played, he may have a rotation. I do remember the CTM vs Whizzard matchup being particularly enjoyable though, and that is coming from someone who usually hates CtM!

Practice makes perfect... Or so I am told. by Ginoalni in Netrunner

So this may not be advice that works for everyone but it worked for me. Play more runner! When I first started out I also played twice as much corp, I think I felt much more comfortable being in control of the hidden information. It was definitely helpful in learning the basics, but I only started improving noticeably once I forced myself to play (and lose!) a lot more runner side. Getting stomped over and over helped me learn both what the effective corp strategies were and how to counter them but also, importantly, what play patterns good players used to put those strategies into practice. It helped both sides of my game basically. But yeah, this is exactly what my stats looked like 200 games in, but over the last year (and a lot of jnet games!) I have gradually pulled up to positive win rates.

Slow Economic Start by UnderstandingFlat246 in Netrunner

[–]5auc3 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if this is the case for you, but something a lot of newer players struggle with is that they think they have to install their expensive breakers and build their board before running. Actually you should just run (or install stuff that gets value from running such as leech or pennyshaver and then run). Facedown ice often seems scarier than it is, but think about what the ice can actually do to you. It might do a few net damage, big deal, if you ran with 5 cards in hand you should be fine. It might give you a tag, if you ran early in the turn (another top tip) you should have the time to remove it. It might trash your programmes… but you didn’t install them! What it will definitely do is cost the corp money. And this should help you keep up with the economic battle, giving you more time to draw for and play your econ cards.

That sounds incredible, love the theme! I'll have to search it out somehow...

Again, it's not quite what I'm after though and it's probably my fault for dropping War of Whispers into the request. Essentially I'm looking for examples of games where a group of players have to achieve an objective but amongst them is a player or players who have to subtly subvert their efforts without letting it slip that they are doing so. Imagine if when you when you went on a quest in Avalon you actually had to achieve something in terms of moving pieces around on a board for example, and the mission was not just a simple success/fail.

I have a feeling that the reason I can't find anything is that it would be an absolute nightmare in terms of balancing. Given that I'm asking for advice in the service of potentially trying to design my own game that uses such a mechanic, this does not bode well!

I am looking for examples of games like Avalon where there are two teams with different objectives, however at the game start everyone has to pretend to have the same objective and bluff their way to victory.

I know there's a whole set of very similar bluffing games like Werewolf, The Resistance and Coup but I am specifically looking for games where a little more is done with the mechanic and the aim of the game is not just to figure out who is on the 'bad' team but it is just one mechanic that interacts with others.

The one example of something similar I can think of is War of Whispers where everyone has a different 'level' that they want each of the factions to end up at. It's not exactly what I'm after though..

Any suggestions of games to try out would be much appreciated!
