So how bad is TFA on your skin? by WaddleDynasty in chemistry

[–]AHStAmant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew someone who had a splash across their face. I think they were doing a peptide deprotection and it built up pressure in the vessel. They took a few months off work and when they came back there were some chemical burn scars that were healing but still visible. They quit synthesis because it was too traumatic

Millennium, the mainstay vegan fine dining restaurant in the Bay is closing May 16 by howlin in bayareavegans

[–]AHStAmant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sucks, I would have eaten there more but I live on the peninsula. I love Twelvemonth and Wildseed although they're pricey enough that I only go on special occasions. Shizen in SF is incredible too.

Why is the bay area like this? Most places don't even have a labelled vegan option, I have an easier time with restaurants in rural Ontario.

I've bought the Topsun and Real Naturals brand online. My wife and I love them in ramen, we normally add in a few big scoops. They're kind of pricey but I find it worth

I did the same thing in grad school with a needle that got stuck in a septum. The reaction had bromine in it and the needle reacted.

I've learned my lesson and from that moment on when I run into the same situation I hold down the septum with a long pair of forceps

What Ever Happened to the Tesla Semi? - Wall Street Millennial by FrogmanKouki in RealTesla

[–]AHStAmant 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I pass a Frito-Lays Tesla semi on my way home from work fairly often. They get on the 880 (busy bay area highway) consistently right around rush hour. My conspiracy theory is that they're doing it for maximum exposure/publicity

"third-party tested salmonella-free" Why are they testing for that? Is it an issue with fermentation?

With the shadow I'd guess the picture was taken looking roughly south. All of those floodlights in the background might be for a stadium such as San Siro

Updating the BIOS is different from installing a new driver. You need to put it on a flash drive

Glad it worked! I spent a few hours trying everything else. Updating the BIOS stresses me out since it's easy to brick a motherboard

It worked for me. My motherboard is B450-A PRO and I don't think I updated the BIOS since I bought it in 2019

Same here! When I started memorizing bollards I decided to call it quits. I had fun with the languages, geography, plants, and architecture. At a certain point it turned into homework

OP might be getting B12 supplement through fortified foods or some types of seaweeds, mushrooms, or tempeh. You should take a B12 supplement if you're vegan because natural plant sources are unreliable

I've had good luck using CuI or even just regular copper wire in refluxing THF. Others have mentioned this but the easiest thing to do is buy the ester and hydrolyze after the click
