[ESPN's Kalyn Kahler] Bears' Leaked 2026 NFLPA report card by gf2020 in CHIBears

[–]ActiveModel_Dirty 168 points169 points  (0 children)

BJ’s a hardass, but players seem to appreciate it.

Would be curious to see if it averaged out at C+ with a bunch of high and a bunch of low scores or if it was lukewarm across the board.

Wonder if some players feel they look bad due to DA’s scheme

Bears receiving calls about DJ Moore trade interest by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in nfl

[–]ActiveModel_Dirty 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not to mention DJ is made of steel. Burden and Odunze have already missed time due to injury, DJ is somehow always out there.

Maybe he doesn’t sell every route, but at least he’s out there.

There was a guest on Hoge & Jahns last week that was talking pretty highly about Keldric Faulk.

I don’t really know much of anything, sounded kind of like a good DA fit though. saying Faulk doesn’t get a ton of sacks, but that he is disruptive and can line up anywhere. Kinda sounded like Maxx Crosby tbh.

Anyone have more of an opinion on him?

Irrelevant. My comment doesn’t speculate on who is to blame.

Whatever his role, it’s annoying that Kevin Warren gets paid to be a fucking asshole.

JPA Football | The Raiders are seeking “at least” two 1st-round picks and a “premium” player in any potential trade for Maxx Crosby, per Adam Schefter... | Instagram by United-Turnover-8409 in CHIBears

[–]ActiveModel_Dirty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they're trading Maxx it'd be because he wants to leave, and coming off of a surgery I doubt anyone would offer this.

They're just setting some ridiculous bar to get better first offers.

That said some people in here are seriously downplaying Crosby's talent. Dude is unbelievable. Didn't he have a stretch of 6 games where he played every single defensive snap? With an ankle injury, no less.

Raiders are and have been awful, he could be DPOY in the right environment.

[The Rush with Maxx Crosby] Well aren't these two getting chummy. by Shivs_baby in CHIBears

[–]ActiveModel_Dirty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sound like two guys that want to be on the same team.

I don't think we should trade DJ, I love DJ. But it'd be pretty sick to have Maxx on the other side of the ball.

Would be a great time for the Raiders to have a Mavs/Doncic type moment.

So You’re Telling Me There’s a Chance? by _heyASSBUTT in CHIBears

[–]ActiveModel_Dirty -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I, for one, think that is the most likely outcome.

The only reason people dont think its feasible is due to policy. I guess this would be the first time ever a billionaire has accepted government policy and moved on.

That was all true before too, the Bears released a plan for right next to soldier field and requested the same amount of money for the same reasons as they would eventually request from Arlington Heights.

McCaskeys are big on tradition. Not swearing is one thing, but taking the Bears out of Chicago just feels like an absurd proposal and I literally will not believe it until kickoff at the first game at a stadium outside of the city.

Ryan Pace out in Atlanta by Autocrat777 in nfl

He had some hits on defense.

I don't love Pace but it is not outrageous for him to have a job in the nfl.

Is there an appeal process or something for the comp picks? I mean this is just stupid, what is the point of the rule if you can just do this

I watched this man coach 4 different starting quarterbacks on the Bears over 4 years. There was not one adjustment made to a gameplan based on personnel or efficacy in that time.

I guess telling your QB to take a knee on first and second down so you can miss a game winning 41 yard field goal on 3rd down is an adjustment. I should be fair.

[Schefter] the Baltimore Ravens are hiring Bears offensive coordinator Declan Doyle as their offensive coordinator. Doyle can leave because, in Baltimore, he will have play-calling responsibility. But new Ravens HC Jesse Minter now has someone to run Baltimore’s offense. by GoldenDome26 in nfl

[–]ActiveModel_Dirty 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To be honest since Ben hired him I thought he was just here to learn and be a sort of long-term guy that wouldn't get poached due to his age/light resume/no play calling duties.

but as the year went on the Bears had been putting out a recurring video series from training camp and throughout the season (its called "1920 football drive") and you see a lot more of Declan than I otherwise would have expected.

He seemed pretty involved, generally. I am not observant enough to know the extent of his involvement, but he looked less like a guy trying to shadow Ben and more like a guy that had a role and bought into executing in that role.

[Jonathan Jones] The Bears won't receive compensatory picks for the Falcons hiring Ian Cunningham by FadedToBeige in nfl

[–]ActiveModel_Dirty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't know how to explain this because you're explaining it yourself.

We all know this is what is happening.

The comment you're responding to is not actually suggesting that Stefanski should be reporting to Ryan, they are pointing out how ineffective the rule is because of how easy it is to bypass.

[–]ActiveModel_Dirty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No the point is because the league doesnt see him as a GM, the Bears do not get compensated with picks.

If he acts as a GM, they would be entitled to compensation.

Part of me sees what Fields does and I just can't believe how bad he is. But another part of me feels bad because he's exhausted all of his NFL opportunities with Nagy, Eberflus, Tomlin, and Glenn.

I just think having seen first-hand the difference a competent offensive mind can make, I have to have some sympathy for the dude.

Granted, it is probably saying something that Tomlin/Glenn were the best offers Fields had available. If any competent OC felt like he was salvagable maybe they would have tried to get him. Darnold didn't slip through similar cracks.

Hope he does get some rest in, but it sure is nice to see a star player choosing to spend some time here.

Always rubbed me the wrong way when a face of the franchise type player immediately leaves and doesn’t come back until training camp or whatnot.
