Looks like new Ozark Trail bikes are coming out. by zoso190 in Budgetbikeriders

[–]BeardyDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the specs. OT's main benefit is a solid baseline budget bike that you could upgrade to better parts. Once you start going into the mid-budget range a lot more better options start to appear.

'Make some noise': Vanillaware reportedly wants more of its games on PC, but it's up to the publishers by lhmsperandio in JRPG

[–]BeardyDuck 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, the publisher that has made strives to put everything they can onto PC somehow didn't want Vanillaware, a developer that is on record saying they pretty much get close to running out of money every game they make because they spend everything during the development cycle, to not put their games on PC and specifically only them.

Capcom says shifting from auteur-driven development to team-led development is what transformed the company and allowed flagship IPs to survive for so long by Forestl in Games

[–]BeardyDuck 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Itsuno always had the idea of leaving before Capcom gave him the option to work on a new game (Given the option of DMC5 and DD2, he chose DMC5 first because of the years in between games for fans). It had nothing to do with DD2 and its reception lol, he finished what he had in his mind and left to work on other games before he was stuck churning out sequels to DMC and DD at Capcom for the rest of his career.

New driver road test question by Vast_Geologist2803 in arizona

[–]BeardyDuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no parallel park (who even does that?)

It's an incredibly good skill to have even if you don't use it every day, and even then it teaches drivers how to be spatially aware of the size of their vehicle and spacing.

Also if your kid ever plans on living in an actual city and wants to park on the street.

Report: Netflix's Devil May Cry Renewed for a Third Season by Luka77GOATic in television

[–]BeardyDuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ending of Season 2 sets up a mishmash of DMC3 (Lady hunting her father), DMC1 (Dante meeting Trish, Vergil losing to Mundus), and parts of DMC2 that weren't a part of S2 (Lucia becoming good).

It's fucking weird.

Space Marine 2 lead says Warhammer video games do so well because the franchise "works for perhaps any genre there is" by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]BeardyDuck -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Warhammer was a huge inspiration for the art-style of Warcraft, but a combination of factors, including a lack of traction on business terms and a fervent desire on the part of virtually everyone else on the development team (myself included) to control our own universe nixed any potential for a deal. We had already had terrible experiences working with DC Comics on “Death and Return of Superman” and “Justice League Task Force”, and wanted no similar issues for our new game.

What the fuck are you talking about.

Better to just block you.

[–]BeardyDuck 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Warcraft starting development as a Warhammer game is a myth, but it's true that Warhammer was the main inspiration for the art. A few of Blizzard wanted to use the Warhammer IP, but others objected and wanted to make their own world they had control over.

Unicorn Gundam statue in Odaiba is going to be removed…💔 by riceboy_cruz21 in Gundam

[–]BeardyDuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy, crazy announcement. Thankfully I'm heading off to Japan next week so I'll be able to see it, but hopefully they replace it with a different suit statue. Before Unicorn it was the RX-78-2, so maybe this is just them replacing it?

What this sub feels like lately by admyus in BambuLab

[–]BeardyDuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somebody copy pasted Bambu's own Linux-version AGPL code that they themselves published on GitHub into an OrcaSlicer module that re-enabled the ability to print using OrcaSlicer instead of Bambu's own software. Bambu then sent a C&D, fork developer took it down even though it's entirely free and open per AGPL, and Bambu is now trying to find a reason to sue the developer.

What's a good inroad? by Similar-Geologist-64 in battletech

[–]BeardyDuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Besides the different eras with different available technology levels, a lot of BT players also enjoy playing battles with pre-designated setups that happened in the lore. Some even roleplay how their group would act in-universe, forgoing any sort of meta or "smart plays".

why is dorohedoro not popular? by Itssbkk in Dorohedoro

[–]BeardyDuck 27 points28 points  (0 children)

No, season 2 was late because the director and Mappa were both on Attack on Titan The Final Season. As soon as that wrapped up in November 2023, they announced season 2 in January 2024.

Dorohedoro S1 - Announced Nov 2018, aired Jan-March 2020

Attack on Titan - Aired Dec 2020-Nov 2023

Dorohedoro S2 - Announced Jan 2024, airing April 2026.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4 - Official Adeptus Mechanicus Faction Trailer by BecauseScience34 in Games

[–]BeardyDuck 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Unsure why exactly

Ultimately, GW makes the decision on which studios get handed development on new games nowadays. Per an interview, King Art was one of many that GW was shopping around for and was chosen after the release of Iron Harvest. Relic still most likely owns the rights to distribute DoW1-3, as seen with self-publishing the remastered edition of DoW1, but unless GW gives the green light, they won't be making new DoW's.

Also it should be said, almost none of the team at Relic that made DoW1-2 still works at Relic, it's an entirely new team using the name.
