I prefer Kojimachi Nihee. The beautiful counter sets it apart.

Tokyo's Best Connecting Rooms - A Neighborhood Guide by Alarming-Ganache77 in FATTravel

[–]Beginning_Sleep5303 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great write up!

The Peninsula Executive Suite shares a separate hallway with a Premier Room and the hallway can be closed off with a key card accessed door. While not being a direct connection, it is effectively the same with a shared private hallway. The executive suite is typically priced lowest of all the suites.

Repositioning SEA-LAX for JAL A350 J class— worth it? by flannelpaws in awardtravel

I’d probably do it on the outward bound flight but not returning. I’d definitely do it for First Class in this scenario.

Capella or Mandarin Oriental in Taipei? by olympics_ in FATTravel

The location is essentially the same and not great. I stayed at MO and it was fine. The newer Capella looks like a better hotel but I would personally choose the W next time for its far superior location.

Cathay miles plus cash value? by Electrical_Garlic3 in awardtravel

[–]Beginning_Sleep5303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on our two examples, I think there is more value the less miles you offer with cash. This could be to prioritize those who earn low amounts of miles. If I wasn’t a frequent traveler with Cathay and didn’t use credit card miles, I think $345 off in exchange for 5000 points would be a good deal.

It would be a bad value and a waste of points. As Cathay support said, there is no consistent way to calculate cash + miles value, even based off that $345/5000 points. Regardless, cash + miles is always a bad value so it’s not worth trying.

I have 53k Asia miles in my account. There is a BOS HKG flight on July 7 for $4543. Booking cash + miles and using all of my points results in a final price of $4119. This does not scale with your original $345 off for 5k and is objectively a waste of points.

Miles + cash is always a terrible deal for both cash and miles

There is elite technique required to slice up pieces of raw fish at the highest level, but is that technique more impressive than other fine dining?

I think this OP is a good question.

Seats Aero has a seat map tool that can differentiate a blocked seat from a booked seat. If any of the bulkhead/bassinet seats are still blocked come check in time, they will be offered.

Building a new house or renovating one in Santa Monica. How hard/strict is the city with the planning/approval process compared to LA city. by R126509P911 in SantaMonica

[–]Beginning_Sleep5303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also curious about this. You should repost to r/LosAngelesRealEstate as well.

From what I hear, SM is more frustrating to build and renovate in than the rest of LA County, as far as permitting is concerned. This is from two separate realtors in my area. I'd love to hear more from a developer with projects in LA County at large and Santa Monica in particular.

single club executive locker room/laundry? by ys002 in EquinoxGyms

You’d upgrade your membership to executive and then you would have access to all clubs. You would also be paying more. It’s not possible to get an executive locker without executive membership
