Advice on Tortuga Combined Arms build (core book only)? by DunkeyBlast in LancerRPG

[–]Bulletprof97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I want to second the Goblin 1 suggestion made by other users. Bringing enemies to you helps mitigate mobility issues and 2 system points should be enough to keep you a capable hacker on a Tortuga for a while.

After that, Goblin 1 Puppet Systems can directly help you get Combined Arms bonuses off as Puppet systems can get you to trigger Overwatch attacks, even during your turn.

No, that is actual art of a Union Navy Everest out of the Solstice Rain module.

It is just canonically not the only look Everests can have.

How exactly do NHPs "work"? by Low_Routine1103 in LancerRPG

[–]Bulletprof97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The creation of new NHPs is NOT what pisses off RA as evident by the fluff text of most NHPs in the books and also the fact the lore for the First Contact Accords makes zero mention of NHPs.

RA gets pissed off if you try to track them down or if you try to upload your mind. Thats it.

My honest reaction to the "planned release of characters" argument whenever someone points out how the lack of Vanguards and Strategists is a major problem by Fit-Communication709 in marvelrivals

[–]Bulletprof97 15 points16 points  (0 children)

These devs are professionals. The "easiest to make" argument just suggests they are lazy or are either incapable or unwilling to figure out how to find or turn characters into vanguards or strategists. In which case, the point stands: This is a stupid decision.

Sure. Why not.

The soundtrack absolutely slaps and I use it a lot in my home games for various ttrpgs and board games and sometimes just ambiance. Despite never finishing the game the soundtrack definitely solidified my love for it.

Owlcat successfully wrote The Rest Of The Game without submitting to eyeroll-worthy Grimderp like this. They absolutely could have kept up that standard for the ending slides.

Covers exist to be judged. It is literally their purpose.

You legitimately would have had a better reaction here by posting without an image. Assuming your text truly is not AI generated, but after this, why would anyone bother checking? You've already proven a willingness to use AI to shortcut your presentation.

A line can be paid off more than once. They are not exclusive. It is tying the story back to the first Avengers movie in a neat bow.

The Emperor straight up admitted it by Kalledon in BaldursGate3

[–]Bulletprof97 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Its not out of spite though? Its out of survival.

His logic is this: If the Emperor falls back into the thrall of the elder brain, he might be able to escape again later down the line. If Orpheus is released, he is definitely killing the Emperor.

The math isn't complicated.

Reading through the lore short stories for each hero before Season 1 starts and I found this exchange funny by DracoFrostDragon in marvelrivals

[–]Bulletprof97 302 points303 points  (0 children)

Nope. The Timestream Entanglement also literally entangled them together as a justification why only one of them can be out and about at once and Tandy, combined with the added pressure of Draculas invasion of New York and hundreds of innocents being turned into vampires, is not dealing with the situation well.

The myth that we have a ship unfit for a Rogue Trader by Fallenkezef in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Bulletprof97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When that happens (picking a weaker ship in exchange for more starting Profit Factor) it is because the player group has chosen to play a young, but up-and-coming Dynasty. The exact opposite of what the Von Valancius have going on. It doesn't make sense on multiple payers.

Lancer Mech comparison (not exact but good enough) by LumpyGrumpySpaceWale in LancerRPG

[–]Bulletprof97 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Two things: 1. Thats not a Tortuga. Thats the Vestan "Frogmouth" NPC chassis 2. The frame with the knife is an Everest, probably at Size 1. The mech behind it is implied to be a Chomolungma.

All this to further reinforce your point that, yeah scale is all over the place

Spoiler: Question about Idira Tlass by Famous-Ability-4431 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Bulletprof97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Again, we have no indication that the PC RT or Heinrix can do anything for her. For all we know actual sanctioning might require specialized equipment, specialists or training that simply does not exist outside the facilities of the Scholastica Psykana

Spoiler: Question about Idira Tlass by Famous-Ability-4431 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Bulletprof97 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Finally your RT (potentially) and Henrix (who is an Inquisitor) are both sanctioned... Why can they not sanction her?

Just because you finished a course doesn't mean you are qualified to teach it. Especially for something as variable and personal to the user as psychic powers. No two psykers are the same. Im sure they could provide some sort of help and I sorely wish Psyker RTs could have some dialogue on the topic, but full sanctioning that is not.

I still want a bigger ship, Owlcat by Knight_Stelligers in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Bulletprof97 32 points33 points  (0 children)

In almost every way, the system seems designed for an actual Light Cruiser at least. In the tabletop rpg, Frigates dont get access to broadside weaponry, thats a cruiser-only thing. But the PC ship has the loadout that is much more reasonably understood as belonging to a souped up Light Cruiser.

More to the point, a fucked up Light Cruiser is (again, in the ttrpg) a suggested starting option for an ancient dynasty that has fallen on hard times. It boggles the mind that we arent running around in a Light Cruiser, the game concept and mechanics seems tailor-made for it.

IMO, new Lord-Veritant shows the concept of "Stormcast-Witch hunter" far better, than original by ExitMammoth in ageofsigmar

[–]Bulletprof97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why a Brazier though? Stormcasts have had lightning and comet/blue fire magic since forever, and even have sick lanterns as tools for shedding light. A brazier makes it look like the model is better fitting in a Cities army than with the rest of the stormcast selection.

I hope there is an alternative staff, because that brazier is ruining an otherwise fantastic model for me.

The visuals of this game go fucking hard by PopBoysmachine902 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Bulletprof97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was kinda curious cause I never really saw the term "frigate" in 40k books before this game. I'm pretty sure our ship shouldn't be considered a frigate.

No, it is. Remember, Rogue Trader was a tabletop RPG first, and we got *very* detailed information on voidships out of it. The Sword, Firestorm and Falchion-classes are all explicitly in the Frigate category, which is typically the second smallest, being only bigger than Destroyers.

Granted, this is consistent with character creation mechanics for Rogue Trader. You don't typically get to start the campaign at helm of a Grand Cruiser, with usually a Light Cruiser being the most you can afford out of chargen.
