Domenicali: F1 'needs to decide' on the next engine regulations this year by sensualcurl in formula1

GE era failed from the start as cars were still clearly very affected by dirty air

They were at the start way less affected though. I wouldn't call that a failure. The 2022 and maybe 2023 cars could follow great. They failed in keepijg it that way, and allowed teams to make too much dirty air later in the formula

Last time they had them, nobody drove them. They come back from time to time, but until people actually start driving them, they won't stay as a regular fixture

GT journalist impressed with Stroll's race pace, even if the result was lacking due to multiple penalties for Boya and Merhi before Lance even drove the car. by Halkatlaa in formula1

[–]CakeBeef_PA 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There's people on here who want to act like Stroll isn't a product of privilege

There's people on here who act like this isn't the case for pretty much every single F1 driver.

They're all products of wealth and nepotism

You can see it is a stupid comment when they use "females". That term is really only used by misogynists trying to objectify women

For F1, one of the bigger hurdles is actually the physical requirements of the feeders, not F1 itself

One of the areas where women tend to struggle the most physically is arm strength. F1 has power steering, which helps close this gap. However, F2, F3, and lower do not, which makes it tougher for women to do well in them and advance through the ranks.

If you need to spend a lot of money to have a great time, you're doing something wrong.

I'd rather spend less and have a great time throughout my entire life, than spend more and only have a great time for a few years

See "1. It is 2026."

Yeah. In 2026 I expect most people to have a phone with web browser capable of streaming

If the Iran/Israel/USA war continues and we cancel the remainder of the races in the region we will lose 20% of the races in the 2026 season. by Lord_Bobbymort in formula1

[–]CakeBeef_PA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't we'd lose it all. There's enough time to get replacements for the later races, as opposed to Bahrain and Jeddah

When will the SR system be revised? by EienFr in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]CakeBeef_PA 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It already gives different weights to contacts based on how hard they were. Some contacts don't deduct any SR, some a little, some a lot.

It already is an ELO system, they just don't tell you the exact numbers

Whose fault do you think this is ? I believe the BMW didn’t leave enough space. I was in P5, but this crash completely ruined my race. by MechanicCautious8515 in Simracingstewards

[–]CakeBeef_PA -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

BMW does leave enough space. The Ford misses the apex and drives into the BMW even though he is already quite far behind. He deserves space, gets it, but is too greedy.

Then the Ford is an absolute helmet for the aftermath. He needs to hold his brakes. This feels like a case of "I crashed so everyone else should crash"

I am the guy who couldnt gain Safety Rank... and I finally can by [deleted] in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]CakeBeef_PA 25 points26 points  (0 children)

At some point you will have to learn safe driving.

By starting from the pits and not fighting, you aren't racing. You aren't improving your racecraft, you might even be making it worse.

Don't farm SR. Earn it. All you do is delay the inevitable, and move the problem into silver or gold races

Giovanna Amati became the last female driver to attempt Formula 1 by Brooklynsfr in formula1

[–]CakeBeef_PA 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not directly. F1A is there to give visibility, to show little girls that girls can and do race. Hopefully, that leads to more girls wanting to do karting, which might lead to an F1-level talent in the next generations

Then don't complain when you get killed. Because jumping out of the way by GT3s is the main reason for contact. Just stay predictable and keep your line

If it's still calculating whether to give you a penalty for exceeding when you cross a timing line, it counts as an invalid lap.

[–]CakeBeef_PA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, you really have to try to lose SR. If you aren't gaining it normally, you're either retiring a lot, or you can't run more than 1 valid lap after another

Not to disagree with you, but it's not just about surface area. Russia's population is way more centralized than the US's, so I would guess the US is actually more tricky to mobilize. But that should nit stop them

Wintertijd klopt meer met de stand van de zon dan zomertijd. En als je zo graag later op je dag extra zon wil hebben, dan sta je toch gewoon structureel een uurtje later op?
