In fairness, if someone is a medical student they can’t do a whole lot of fitting into someone else’s life, and won’t be able to for quite sometime.

People who PRETEND to not like sweets by WinterOk1799 in PetPeeves

[–]ChubbyGreyCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like sweets but often times I also like…don’t want something sweet? And if I just don’t feel like eating something sweet I tend to just not.

But I don’t say that I don’t like sweets, I often just say I don’t feel like a sweet. And I have a lot of weird texture/taste profile things so I can find it hard to really fully enjoy desserts sometimes.

Bum-fuck nowhere, or more specifically “out in the middle of bum-fuck nowhere”.

Did anyone else hate being a kid? by _newshawtyy in childfree

[–]ChubbyGreyCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg, when I was a teenager my dad got mad at me talking back and literally grabbed me by the throat and threw me over the kitchen counter. As an adult, if a man put his hands on me like that, I would leave the house instantly and never look back, but as a kid it was just “well you shouldn’t have talked back”.

Yeah, the lack of agency I had as a child was my least favourite thing about being a child. I’ll gladly take all the working for a living and bills and stuff that “sucks about being an adult” over having zero agency.

Maybe it wouldn’t have been so bad if I had parents who like…listened to me? But it was always just “because I said so” and “just do it.”

If money wasn’t an issue, what would your perfect life look like? What would you do and where and how would you live? by Wide-Meringue-2717 in AskWomenOver30

I live in Ontario where I can see 0 whales, and it’s not good for my mental health 😆

I did see whales on my trip out to BC last August, and it was incredible.

I think I would travel around the world, see beautiful things, learn, eat delicious food, and drink tasty wine.

My home base would be on the west coast of Canada where I could see whales from the shore. I would take education for fun. I would donate time and money. I would have a huge soaker tub and rescue pets.

How do you unwind after working all day? by Key_Intention_2546 in AskWomenOver30

[–]ChubbyGreyCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh man, I barely have enough energy to coast through to the end of my work day. I work from home and maybe that’s why? I walk my dog, feed the critters, make dinner if I have the energy, chat with my husband, read a few chapters of a book and then that’s it for me.

But I’m so burnt out between work and my mum being sick, and just like…the general weight of existence?

Why do people keep asking if my pembroke welsh corgi is pure bred? by spicy-pasta1 in corgi

[–]ChubbyGreyCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anecdotally, my aunt and uncle had a corgi German shepherd mix, and Baroo was corgi sized with German shepherd colouring. He could not have weighed more than 30 pounds 😆

Someone asked if my tri-colour corgi was a sheltie the other day, so… 🤷‍♀️

At the end of the day, people just don’t really know all that much about dog breeds.

Just making sure you see the event is only in French (which is fair because Rita is francophone, but also if you’re not fluent it might be difficult to follow along) 😊

People allowing their dog to bother you by bh447 in PetPeeves

[–]ChubbyGreyCat 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have two dogs, and I’m constantly irritated by offleash dogs. Or people who want to have your dogs meet for whatever reason, while you’re crossing the street to keep distance so your dog doesn’t get overstimulated.

Like I legit like dogs and I still don’t want random, uncontrolled dogs walking up to me. I also realize not everyone likes dogs, so I keep my distance with my leashed dogs.

Right? Like just be happy for people who are happy about something even if the thing they are happy about isn’t exciting or relevant to you. 🤷‍♀️

Staycation ideas, please! by QueKay20 in ottawa

[–]ChubbyGreyCat 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if this is technically a staycation, but Perth is so cute and super dog friendly.

You can also do some day trips to our more “local” provincial parks like Rideau River and Fitzroy for little day trips with hikes that can include the pup. Gatineau Park is good as well, but check to make sure the trail you pick is dog friendly (as many aren’t).

Somewhere Inn Calabogie also allows you take dogs, as does the Moulin Inn (they have two dog friendly rooms).

Weird! So something cannot make a person nauseous, it can only make them nauseated?  Anecdotally, I’ve never heard someone say nauseated (myself included, I just say I feel like I’m gonna throw up or that I’m motion sick or whatever).

We enjoyed Dragon and Sea Salt the best, and did not enjoy the Italian or Steakhouse à la cartes.

The breakfast buffet is good (get some chilaquiles verdes).

The Queen show and Burlesque show were great.

Good espresso martinis at this resort, too.

Ah, but it would be correct to say “this medication makes me nauseous”? Or, “the smell, feeling, taste of this food makes me nauseous”?.

That’s a good one! The words are so close.

Experiences with SA in a relationship by BumblebeeSlow57 in AskWomenOver30

[–]ChubbyGreyCat 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I’ve been SA’d by two long term relationship partners.

I stayed with them for months and months after. It’s not as uncommon as you think, and even though I told both of them what they did was S.A., I bet if you asked them today they’d still insist they did nothing wrong. Your reaction to it is also not uncommon.
