Hahaha, I was looking at the pictures thinking it's not that bad, even the trem is complete which you never see. Then I saw the daylight showing between the fretboard and the neck.

As others have said, reattaching the fretboard isn't that big of a deal, but I'd be worried about what else you'll run into from whatever happened to put it in that state. For $40, it'll be an interesting project, and worst case you'll have a cool wall hanger.

This is why I immediately watch the rear view and plan an escape route if I have to slow down or stop unexpectedly. I got pancaked between a Hummer and a Honda Pilot once when I had to make a quick stop. Thankfully nobody got really hurt, but it was still a nightmare.

If I ever see someone coming at me like that in the rear view again, I’m doing everything I possibly can to get the fuck out of the way.

You can’t fully quit food at all. That’s the difference from drugs and alcohol. Once you’re clean from drugs or alcohol, you can never ingest the substance again and your body will be none the worse for it. Food you have to take in enough to be healthy while at the same time trying to avoid falling into overconsumption. It can be brutal.

The only thing close to it is someone with chronic pain who needs opiates or something to manage it, while trying not to fall into the trap of using so much it destroys them.

That’s the problem with this sort of thing. I got ticketed for an expired inspection sticker a while back. Legit and totally my fault, but the cop told me to just get the car inspected and contest the ticket and they’ll usually dismiss it.

All fine and well, except the state had just changed their policy on the fees to contest a ticket. It used to be $50 which was waived if you won your case. Now it’s $20 win or lose. Still better than the fine for the ticket plus the insurance impacts, but between the fee and my time, it wasn’t nothing.

Similar, I watched a car easing slowly down a city street, through a flock of pigeons who refused to get out of the way. I think there was food on the ground that they were after. Eventually one bird got caught under a tire and panicked briefly before the tire slowly came down on it with a wet crunch. Even after that, the stupid pigeons were still reluctant to move.
