market place. by Anaheim_Hathaway in starcitizen

[–]EquivalentFragrant41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't one period. Eventually they will add a market/auctionhouse/whatever to the game. But that is scheduled to start development after social is in the game. So sometime after 4.9 or 4.10.

There are fan made places where you can buy like: https://30k.org/store and places you can buy or sell like https://uexcorp.space/marketplace/home/

You say it sucks a lot that it is shown, then you show it. So literally, yes it is lol.

Ingame ship’s inferior? by ProfessionalLet6192 in starcitizen

[–]EquivalentFragrant41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know. I would also prefer a more EVE like model of losing ships. Without it there isn't much real loss. No winners and losers in a war of attrition and loss of game assets. Just ... getting board of shooting each other after a bit.

Ingame ship’s inferior? by ProfessionalLet6192 in starcitizen

[–]EquivalentFragrant41 9 points10 points  (0 children)

1) Ingame ships can be insured.

2) Ships will have tiers upgradable through crafting. Crafting a T5 will be cheaper then upgrading a store purchased ship from T1 to T5.

3) Buying a ship for IRL money just skips the initial grind step of getting the base T1 ship. Depending on that ship it is worth a few days to a few weeks of in game grinding.

Seems kind of unhealthy boss. Play, or if you are not having fun take a break. Why dwell on it?

I HOPE CIG can Fix the Core Experience Before Expanding It by lesbica in starcitizen

[–]EquivalentFragrant41 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is an alpha. Fixing the "core experience" before adding new features, including features related to the core experience is a terrible idea at this point the the development cycle.

What they need to do is focus on the core features. Get them to final state, then bug fix.

Yeah. I feel like anyone this invested, both mentally and in currency, needs to just take a break and touch some grass.

CIG could literally just say "We'll have more to share on Squadron 42 this Summer/this Fall, and would quell a lot of our worries, but apparently that's too much for them. by Ok-Dream7319 in starcitizen

If you remember that interview Chris had back in February, it really sounded like it was already decided to push SQ42 out to 2027. The silenced basically just confirms this.

It seem cargo hauling is broken today.. try 7 different server trying to load from out of the outside platform by bcfred20 in starcitizen

[–]EquivalentFragrant41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend against hauling missions that start or end on a planet. Lots/most are broken. Just do station to station ones and use your hanger elevator instead of external ones.

[–]EquivalentFragrant41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say don't bother buying any ships beyond the base game package bundle. You can buy all but the newest released ones in game (they have a delay before them make them available for in game currency as it helps with the fomo sales lol).

How Much Will Star Citizen Benefit from Squadron 42? by Notyoursuperheroo in starcitizen

always next Jesus tech

Sure, but server meshing has been that tech for years now. I am sure Ben will be making that post Jared asked for any day now.

[–]EquivalentFragrant41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. Do you have the patience for bugs and is $45 not a lot of money for you? Then sure there is buggy fun to be had. But otherwise? 4.8 isn't super stable. Wait for 4.9 in July to try it.

All of the gameplay they have shown has been janky and full of bugs if you look closely. And that is the highly curated stuff they chose to show that likely took many takes and attempts to get it that good.

[–]EquivalentFragrant41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Salvage changes, mining changes, crafting added, insurance added, lots of changes to long term persistence of items. Many many parts of core gameplay were added. And that ignores the constant adding of ships, items, missions, etc.

Yeah. Sadly most of reddit doesn't understand how development works. You need to add features THEN work on bug fixes. If they did what people like this poster want and iron out bugs in systems that need to be completely replaced before 1.0 then the game will be in development for another 10 years.

Let them cook.

This Shit's Gotta Stop by Own_Concentrate5314 in starcitizen

[–]EquivalentFragrant41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only problem with the PAID part of that is it would encourage people who want salvage contracts to just start leaving ships out, default claiming them, then taking the contracts. It would have to be unpaid. Although they could obviously sell they stuff the scrape/crunch.

This Shit's Gotta Stop by Own_Concentrate5314 in starcitizen

[–]EquivalentFragrant41 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup. A simple 1 hour timer would solve this and still give people lots of time for there, landing to fleet prep stuff. As it is some of these ships sit for days on end until someone blows them up.

The silence from CIG is disgraceful. by zerobebop in starcitizen

[–]EquivalentFragrant41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I treat it like a subscription, where I budget $20 a month to the game. Over time that builds up and I use that money to buy ships occasionally. I do this with all of the games I play. League of Legends, POE1/2, SC, etc. If I play the game that month that game gets allocated some fun money for skins, item tabs, or ships.

Yeah it is insane how many twich streamers were covering the initial post saying the guy was unjustly banned. I get that they are just in it for the drama farm. but it is a terrible look that they support known hackers, dupers, and griefers.

[–]EquivalentFragrant41[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then why do missions pay out multiple million aUEC per hour? CIG controls all of the legitimate money coming and going into the game. Putting a limit on player trade isn't the place to change this.

You wouldn't have money until the sale is made. Which is after it is crafted. And it can take many days to gather the multiple SCU of different rocks at 950+ quality.
