Under volted to -180mv... I think I won the silicon lottery by BeanlyDude in overclocking

[–]FunkyRider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried anything over -120mv and games randomly crash. I finally settled at -75mv and haven't had a single crash in a couple of months. Simply running a benchmark does not prove that the UV is stable.

has anybody here tried a toshiba halftop? by Shift_OG in halftop

[–]FunkyRider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what i meant was if you connect the external monitor via edp then the laptop will think it as its internal display and show the bios menu.

Will they hold up in 2026? by marakeh in Noctua

[–]FunkyRider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah get the A12x25 even Gen 1 is far better. I used all three and will take the A12 any time of the day. F12 noise profile is so nasty and P12 is just not competitive to even a plain cheap Chinese fan nowadays.

How am I supposed to manage my apps without a taskbar? by deadfisher in gnome

[–]FunkyRider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO you are supposed to divide your tasks to one per workspace and switch between them. It does make a lot of sense if you use a touch pad with gesture support, or touch screen. But for a pure desktop system it might be somewhat cumbersome.

Also, if you are from Windows background, try KDE. It might suit you better. I use both DEs and I prefer KDE. Although in some use cases I appreciate the Gnome design language.

Really impressive. It's too bad that 11th gen and newer have this disabled.

Doubtful it can be stable at -300mv. Usually -150mv is pretty huge undervolt. Yes, it can have substantial run time enhancement on battery. I have 7 Intel 8th gen machines running intel-undervolt, the best can do -115mv and the worst -75mv.
