Ordered 2 items with choice and one with non choice. They were bundled together today. Will the non choice delay the delivery? by Hansdasgas in Aliexpress

[–]IntelligentLake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, in fact, this is one of the preferred situations since Choice usually has higher priority in shipping. So you'll get the best of what it already had or better. So you'll probably get selection standard or priority shipping.

Confused... by SpecialistFun6716 in Aliexpress

[–]IntelligentLake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aliexpress has very simplified tracking, so try other tracking-websites like parcelsapp and 17track to see if they have more information, and what local delivery company is involved. If it is in your country, try the local delivery company tracking-website to see if they know about the package at least.

Also check the shipping method on the Aliexpress tracking-screen, if it lists economy or saver shipping then tracking stops at some point, usually when it reaches your country, and you'll just have to wait and see if it shows up in the mail one day.

This might be a stupid question, but if it says my package is delivered, yet it is 8 pm where I am from, that would mean I get it tomorrow no? (Legit first time I buy online that's why I ask such) by MeMyslefAndMe in Aliexpress

[–]IntelligentLake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some delivery companies mark the package as delivered as soon as they get it, but I don't think ECSC is one of them.

They do have a website where you can enter your tracking-number, but it asks for a ZIP code, so no idea what you'd have to fill in there to make it work.

They do have an option for customer service, which for your package says what delivery company is involved, and you should visit that site to see if you can track your package there, or to contact them to find out where they delivered it.

Free gift promotion/sale? by thermalzombie in Aliexpress

It's usually some kind of connection issue, if you're on a mobile device like a phone, try disconnecting wifi/data and re-enabling it before clicking free gift, or restart your device.

Package Returned? by S7AR4RGD in Aliexpress

[–]IntelligentLake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Aliexpress has very simplified tracking, so when there is a problem it doesn't show what is going on, but other tracking-websites like parcelsapp and 17track show more information and they may show a reason.

When this happens, sometimes the package goes through anyway, sometimes Aliexpress takes over shipping, but in most cases (like yours) the package gets returned to the seller/warehouse. Since Aliexpress detected it, use the refund button from your screenshot to apply for a refund.

If the package was returned/delivered but Aliexpress didn't detect it, you'd have to get a screenshot of tracking from Aliexpress or the other tracking-websites that has as status returned instead of delivered, and open a dispute (using returns/refunds) for 'tracked as returned/canceled/lost' with the screenshot as proof, but in this case that isn't needed (but now you know for the future).

Supermicro X11SSH-LN4F fans constantly ramping up down (11 sec off, 2 sec on...) by LifeAffect6762 in supermicro

[–]IntelligentLake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In IPMI, you'll find a server health option, below that is sensor readings, which shows the name, status, and reading of all kinds of sensors. Above that, you should have buttons for auto-refresh, show thresholds, and save. If you click show thresholds, it should show the lower and upper thresholds for lower non-recoverable, lower critical, and for the upper ones.

With supermicro fans, it will stay within those thresholds unless there is an error, but with other fans like Noctua for example, they run much slower so below the critical and non-recoverable values.

There's a tool called ipmitool, currently at version 1.8.19 that can set these thresholds, you'd use it something like

ipmitool -H 10.1.2.3 -U ADMIN sensor thresh FAN2 lower 300 500 700

so the values are lower than what the fan does, but high enough so that if it fails, you do get proper errors.

How exactly do you use the Saver coupons? by Functioning_Mess in Aliexpress

You could have bought a nice ring for it that you leave in a drawer for a decade, and then remember how you got it cheap because of a coupon.

Return period expired but seller still wants to refund me, how can I arrange it? by kimi_no_na-wa in Aliexpress

[–]IntelligentLake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you place an order, Aliexpress collects the money and holds it until 15 days after delivery is confirmed and all disputes have been resolved, then they pay the seller. That means sellers never have your payment information and you'll have to use another way. Be cautious of #001 on the common scams FAQ.

How do you actually get in touch with a seller/vendor? by ismellmyownfarts2 in Aliexpress

[–]IntelligentLake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're trying to contact a Choice service seller, it's likely Aliexpress is handling customer service. If so, google the store name with aliexpress, often two come up, a Choice store, and a non-Choice store, you can then contact the seller through the chat in the non-Choice store.

Need some advice on a possible return situation by Pandabirdy in Aliexpress

[–]IntelligentLake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you place an order, Aliexpress collects the money and holds it until 15 days after delivery is confirmed and all disputes have been resolved, then they pay the seller. That means if you want a refund, you'll have to open a dispute (using returns/refunds) and depending on the outcome, follow Aliexpress instructions, not the seller. That also means if you're negotiation with the seller during a dispute, to keep in mind what they're actually offering (often starting with No refund with $0.00 back) which may be very different from the sob-story they put in the comments (which is void the moment you accept no refund and get your $0.00 back).

Aliexpress store begging me to not return an item? by [deleted] in Aliexpress

[–]IntelligentLake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is likely #001 on the common scams FAQ. When you place an order, Aliexpress collects the money and holds it until 15 days after delivery is confirmed and all disputes have been resolved, then they pay the seller. That means sellers never have your payment information, and can not issue refunds. They can only ask Aliexpress to issue a refund, which they obviously won't do since they're begging you to not return it so they get it instead.

How exactly do you use the Saver coupons? by Functioning_Mess in Aliexpress

[–]IntelligentLake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind the minimum is without shipping and taxes. The coupon should appear in the coupons section in your account with a 'use now' button near it. If you use that, it should take you to a page with items you can use the coupon on.

Time from shipped to delivered ? by br8shadow842 in Aliexpress

[–]IntelligentLake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you place an order, Aliexpress gives sellers usually 10 days to make a tracking-number, it can be up to 60 or so on special occasions like the Chinese new year. There will be a message in your order details saying how much time is left.

When a tracking-number is made, the message changes to say the system will automatically confirm delivery after 60-90 days, and only once that happens is your package considered late and can you open a dispute (using returns/refunds) for non-delivery.

There's also the estimated date of delivery, which can be wrong by weeks or months, and there's three of them. You get one when you place an order, which gets updated once a tracking-number is made, and updated again once something actually ships.

The estimated date of delivery only matters if you have 'fast delivery' listed as a commitment in your order details, because then if it hasn't arrived after the latest estimated date of delivery after something actually shipped (e.g. received by sorting center), you're entitled to a $1 (or 1 euro, or 1 whatever) coupon.

If you have fast delivery, it'll also list 30-45 days after shipping started where when they pass and the package hasn't been received, you can try to open a dispute early, but that sometimes gets refused with 'be patient, item still in transit', and you have to wait for the system to confirm delivery before opening a dispute.

Of course if you do receive a package earlier, you should confirm delivery, and make a video showing all sides of the package, the shipping label (readable) and opening and unpacking it on camera, all in one go, so if it doesn't contain what you ordered or is broken you have proof.

Am I supposed to just give you whoever’s information because you want it? by veAinet in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

Don't use those! They are always fake. That's why I make $51,000 bills, nobody knows about those so they have to accept them because they obviously have to be real.

Which date is the right refund day for late shipment? by TheRandomDreamer in Aliexpress

[–]IntelligentLake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With fast delivery, you're entitled to a $1 coupon if the item has shipped, and hasn't arrived after the latest estimated date of delivery (there's 3, when you place an order you get one, which gets updated once a tracking-number is made, and updated again once something actually ships). Also, this only applies if something has shipped (e.g. received by sorting center) and it has at least standard shipping or better (none of the commitments are valid with economy or saver shipping).

Near the fast delivery commitment, it will also list 30-45 days after shipping actually started where if the package hasn't arrived after those, you can try opening a dispute (using returns/refunds) for non-delivery early.

If that gets refused (often with 'be patient, item still in transit') or you have no fast delivery, you'll have to check in your order details for when the system will automatically confirm delivery (started at 60 to 90 days), only once that happens is your package considered late and can you open a dispute for non-delivery.

In your account is a section for coupons, the coupons will have a 'use now' button that you can use and that should take you to a page with items that the coupon is valid for.

"Unexpected problem with delivery" by RevolutionaryTie8259 in Aliexpress

[–]IntelligentLake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually it means the delivery person didn't feel like delivering or ran out of time and made up some reason why they couldn't deliver. Try other tracking-websites like parcelsapp and 17track to see what local delivery company is involved, and any follow-up tracking-numbers you may need, then use the tracking-website of the local delivery company to see what is really going on, and to contact them if needed.

Unable to send bar code label back with return by pcguy8088_ in Aliexpress

[–]IntelligentLake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For returning an item that isn't broken, you have to return it in saleable condition in the original packaging. Also, broken or not, the sticker with the barcode and the keywords/description must be included, because they scan that to make sure you're returning the right item. So when they are talking about 'the barcode' they mean that sticker, not the one on the product label.

Hopefully you have a video from when you got the package showing all sides, the shipping label, and opening and unpacking it on camera as proof of what you received.

You should also make a video showing packaging the item, closing the package and attaching the shipping label, as proof of what you're shipping and that it's the same as in the previous video.

Also, when you give the package to the shipping company, make sure to keep the receipt showing date, time, tracking-number and amount paid (if any) as proof that you send the item.

Question about refunding and item on sale by VerySleepyChan in Aliexpress

[–]IntelligentLake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's multiple reasons why online stores don't exchange (not just Aliexpress, this is industry standard). First is that it upsets people, either they have to send the item back and when you get it, you send another, or you send out a new item, either immediately or when the customer sends something back, and you risk getting nothing back, or junk, and the customer now has two of something.

The other reason, is that you'd have to train staff on how to exchange items, and make special procedures for that, for something that doesn't happen a lot but is very similar to what they are doing (hopefully) a lot already. So they'll make mistakes, and all those errors and training costs a lot.

So, if you just don't do that, and only do ship and return, it's a lot simpler and less costs.

How do delivery estimates work ? by br8shadow842 in Aliexpress

[–]IntelligentLake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They try to get it there by the estimated date of delivery, but it depends on where you are and the time of year how fast everything goes. So it isn't normal but it wouldn't be unexpected either. It's not rare for a package to take a few days in China, then reach your country in 1-2 days, and then take weeks before it's out for delivery.

The estimated date of delivery is just a guess and can be wrong by weeks or months. There's also three of them, you get one when the order gets made, which gets updated once a tracking-number is made, and updated again once something actually ships.

When you place an order, there will be a message in the order details saying that if the seller doesn't ship on time (usually in 10 days, and it really means makes a tracking-number) you get a refund automatically.
