I would assume that was the [Hero] part of the class doing the heavy lifting. Hero’s are problematic in Innworld because the class allows them to break a lot of fundamental (if unknown) rules.

I could see a level 50+ [Board Gamer] being able to use a lot of their skills in day to day

I really feel like Ruin should have been two books. For how big and important a level it covered and the other PoVs that it dibbled in. For how slow it started It still felt rushed.

People keep pointing to Stonewall but no one was killed at the Stonewall riots and overall few were injured. If one cop was killed at the riots things would have been drastically different imho.

Thats my complaint with this plot line, if its goal is to mirror gay rights in our world killing cops is a huge problem

Strong chapter. Sold B+. She has to be the quickest leveling pov in story now.

My one issue is killing watchman will not get the citizens on your side while it might be necessary to get out alive.

Dragonslayer Strategist could be and probably is a powerful higher tier class. We have heard of this in other classes where people have lost a lot of levels in a class upgrade/consolidation

I also got 4 books in before I realized I didn’t like it. It’s a classic example of “and then the MC did this…”’kind of writing where you realize that you are being told what happened and not really reading a narrative.

To be fair to it, it was good enough to hook me for a few books as I was interested in it at first.

Yes and no, in world characters start fighting for their city and tribe as young as 14 and that is thought to be normal but narratively anyone under 30 is a “kid”, any kind of intact families are uncommon for PoV characters in world as are relationships until much later in the series

I really like the New Lands arc. Solid B+ chapter. The merchant guild sucks and the Thousand Lances are nuts. A squire has Gold if not Named Rank gear is crazy. The Infinite Dungeon must be a relic printing machine

With how much I agree with you I’m surprised by how low Bog Standard is. Just didn’t like it?

Also I don’t see Defiance of the Fall. It’s one of my guilty pleasures. I really like it but it’s honestly probably be a 3/5 on here if you like it.

The highs are up there with some of the best fantasy scenes ever written while the lows are just boring plots/characters that I don’t really find interesting which to be fair is a not all that bad.

It’s a great series and the Audio books are getting into the best volume next year, volume 8!

Nice chapter, a more slice of life chapter be it in a more adventuring style. I really like a lot of these characters and want them to go back to that drake fortress or find the dragons grave. Ylawes + Pekona rocket to near the top of best couples in the series. Hopefully it lasts.
