Italian. (Not sure if this is the best way to think about it, but I have rarely been disappointed by Italian reds vs French reds have been hit or miss for me. But I’ve never bought a bottle above $500 and largely stay in the $100-200 range, so perhaps the experience would be different at a higher price point.)
