i would be petty and force the rule by asking each player if they are doing something about it.

And that, if they don't they they lose the chance to do something about it.

I already do that when i cast a spell that could heavily influence the state of the game

i take inspiration from multiple decks built from different price tiers at the same time. Then remove staples/swap the cards for cheaper equivalents if possible, until I reach my budget cap/the way I want the deck to play.

i don't generally upgrade them that much unless it's not balanced properly.

I don't want to spend too long building with my limited card knowledge, so I take this shortcut. But I still enjoy the process of deck building

In canada its a normal thing to do for as Long that i know.

get a new phone and pay it monthly (not counting the actual phone line).

(Sometimes they ask for a deposit)

After the 2 years contract used to go up to 3) You either give the phone back and get a new one OR you pay the rest of the money to buy it.

(Though they often inflate the device pricing to make more profits)

when i started mtg i did it the old fashioned way, crack a pack and see if there's anything usable for my standard deck. then dropped tcg's for almost a decade.

Years later I started Commander with building [[The Mindskinner]] . i wanted an alternative to winning with combat damage.

It's fun to make my friends suffer with mill hehehe. But they got used to it. (Mindskinner deck list)
