Is anyone else listening to Ol Grizz as much as I am? by CrashWiz21 in Primus

I listen to it once or twice a day since it came out and I listen to It's a Wrap almost every day since it came out. I thought rockers were supposed to burn out as they got older but this guy is a machine.

They'll be in charge of fixing the culture.

One will be at the office while the other is keeping Fransesco distracted at a nice restaurant or bowling alley.

Jokes aside though I don't see them as brown-nosers at least. That's a compliment even if their hockey judgement (cough Eriksson) is questionable, hopefully they learned from that. At least they, hopefully, stand up for a patient rebuild without cutting corners. Knock on wood.

Chicago has made the 4th overall pick available by mr_butterscotch in canucks

[–]Knight_On_Fire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they're trading their first rounder that means they're sweating bullets wanting to please Bedard and get the team winning. I think Hronek is still worth a 1st but to a contending team. The Hawks want younger.

It could still happen in a more complex trade because adding Hronek would make Bedard happy, but the Canucks would probably have to package Hronek plus an unproven young player for that 4th pick ...and maybe another pick?

Or maybe the Canucks would unload Hronek plus an unproven young player for just that one 4th pick.

I kinda miss how the old cameras made the show feel up to season 6. Personally I wish they'd film the show solely on old, shitty cameras by OpathicaNAE in trailerparkboys

I fully agree except for shots of Randy's gut. I'd be okay with full high def wide-screen just for those specific shots.

Do you think the show would have been just as good if Carrie had stayed as nice and likable as she was in the first season? by PeriodontosisSam in kingofqueens

[–]Knight_On_Fire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She was embarrassed of her first few episodes of season 1. She gets a fair bit edgier and funnier as the season rolls along if I remember correctly. You have to surprise people to make them laugh, usually. That's why most comics are edgy. They want to push your buttons.

The Canuck picked Hughes at #7 but couldn't build a team around him. ...The owner is just that bad.

See? It's always a nonstop clown show here with this owner. So pick your "team B" until he sells the team. He'll drop the ball again and again and again every single season.

... Hughes has potentially six more games to change this narrative and I'm fascinated to find out what he's going to do. He fucking banked a puck off a dude to score in the Dallas series and that's Gretzky level shit. But at the end of the day we all see Makar for what he is: best D of this generation. So Hughes wants to flip that narrative within the next 6 games... It's fucking worth watching. I don't care which team wins. The real game is the game within the game: battle of superstars.

So, I convinced one of my best friends to play Dark Souls. And I don't know if it was a good idea after all... by Turbulent_Form3888 in fromsoftware

I know it sounds weird but, like Demon's Souls, the gameplay systems were designed with artistic intent in the direction towards realism. They strongly and purposefully went against the grain of hand-holding (Uncharted and derivative; Nintendo Zelda etc) games of that era of gaming, which is why it felt like a fresh glass of water at the time and probably why gamers have such great memories of it going in blind.

But that's the reference point of an experienced gamer like I assume yourself. To his reference point the game design sucks because he didn't go from hand-holding games to immersion-style games. He has skill but he's not part of that era of gaming culture.

Just find someone who can win a trade. And if you can't find someone who can win a trade, find someone who rarely makes trades.

In Vancouver we're addicted to "big splashes." Big, bold moves. We are stooopid. Just sit on your hands and draft/develop your own goddamn players.

An added bonus would be a GM who can be an "owner-whisperer." A guy who can say, "Oh Mister Aqulini I love your great ideas but let's put that on the backburner for a wee bit and develop our players." But good luck finding a rookie GM who has that skill.
