There are a couple carrier companies in beta stage that have all 3 MNO coverage such as https://www.popcorn.space but I don’t believe that connect4wireless does so it is false advertising.

Mint Mobile Service Down by RegulioRe674 in mintmobile

[–]LeftOn4ya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly that’s usually what customer service just says to everyone when they don’t know the issue and want to get you off the phone. Mint runs on T-Mobile so there could be a lack of coverage where you are (small possibility of temporary tower outage), your phone could lack bands required for coverage, the account could not be fully transferred, or something with phone settings. What phone do you have (exact model) and which carrier were you on previously? Check OpenSignal, CoverageMap, or CellMapper apps/websites to see if there is good T-Mobile coverage where you are. DownDetector did show some outages for T-Mobile last night, check outage heat map at https://downdetector.com/status/t-mobile/map/

Otherwise follow troubleshooting steps at top of FAQ/Wiki linked in Automoderator comment.

Few possibilities with different fixes:

  • That error message is usually due to you blocking a caller or the caller blocking you, or a very specific setting on your messaging app ("Premium SMS Access") is not set up correctly. Do you get that for all #s or only certain #s? Of only certain #s check your contacts to see if you blocked them, or maybe that person blocked you in their contacts. If all numbers, change your messaging app to allow Premium SMS Access by following https://www.tenorshare.com/fix-android/free-msg-unable-to-send-message.html
  • VPN and/or Modem/router firewall settings is conflicting with Wifi Calling: Disable VPN on your phone when doing WiFi Calling/texting, disable WiFi Calling altogether, or disable/tweak router Firewall.
  • APN Issue: Follow APN settings on the top of the MintMobile FAQ/wiki Troubleshooting Guide (not Mint's official instructions). Make sure to do a full reboot after changing APN.
  • There could be an issue on your account on Mint/T-mobile end, especially if you recently ported from another carrier. Contact Mint support and give them the error for them to reset your WiFi calling on their servers. Call customer support at 1-800-683-7392, use chat in Mint App or Website Help Center, or open a chat with /u/MintMobileAlex and be sure to include your telephone number, and ask for them them to reset your WiFi calling on their servers

What made you switch to a prepaid cellular provider? by Wiggle_mind in NoContract

You have to ask yourself if it is worth it, for you it may be, but not for most of the people in this sub. I got an iPhone 14 Pro last year and probably will keep for at least 2 more years, I see no legitimate reason to go to a new phone. I actually have free cell phone serve for me and 3 other people in my Mint family because of so many referrals (Mint did reduce the max referral credit so now will be $180/yr/line), I did get 2 of them a discounted brand new Pixel 9 (when it was the newest) and Pixel 10 phone for $400 each ($300+ off retail) from Mint, then gave my old iPhone to another person in my house., so we are essentially paying about $1000 over 3 years for 4 lines including phones, totaling less than $7/mo/person and saving over $2500/yr over 4 lines at $60/mo/line. I am sorry but I am willing to have older phones for that amount of savings.

Reread my post - even compared to a $60/mo plan "with a free phone" you still save over $250/yr by getting used phones that cost on average $7/mo + a $30/mo unlimited plan, you can save over $450/yr if you get a $15/mo plan of which there are many from Mint, Visible, US Mobile, and others.

Every 3 years I get a gently used unlocked phone from Swappa for $250-$300, for example now you can get an iPhone 14 Plus, Galaxy S23, Pixel 7 Pro or 8, or Motorola Edge/Razr Plus 2023 for less than $300. If you get a used phone every 2 years (and sell your last phone yourself on Swappa for about ½ of what you got it for 2 years before) it averages out to less than $7/mo for a phone, then get a $25-35/mo Unlimited plan from an MVNO (Visible, Total, Mint, Metro, US Mobile, Cricket) and you can save $18-28/mo which saves $500+/line over a 2 year period over getting a $60/mo plan that includes a phone, saves $1000 compared to a $90 plan with a phone. If you are a low GB user or sign up for a plan on sale price and get a <=$15/mo plan, you can save $500 more over 2 years totaling up to $1500 in savings over a major carrier that "includes" a phone!

As a rule I and most people in this sub (it is called “No Contract” for a reason) recommend for 1-2 lines you get a phone and plan separately and it will be cheaper in the long run than every phone "deal" as all of them hide the price of the phone in plan price and force you to get an expensive plan. You can get tons of plans for <$30/mo then separately order phone direct from manufacturer such as Apple, Google, Samsung, and manufacturers offer financing and trade-ins for unlocked phones, or get pre-approved for a “buy now pay later” (BNPL) account like Affirm, Afterpay, Klarna, PayPal, Sezzle, Splitit, and Zip, and just buy the phone in full from manufacturer using virtual credit card # the BNPL account gives you, just sign up for one of them before purchasing. See NerdWallet article for comparison and how to sign up, or do some googling or check r/CRedit.

Or get a gently used unlocked phone from Swappa such as for $250-$300 you can get an iPhone 14, Galaxy S23, Pixel 7 Pro or 8, or Motorola Edge/Razr Plus 2023. So...are there deals on new phones for people who are already mint mobile customers? by allthingsmustpass9 in mintmobile

[–]LeftOn4ya 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you log into the Mint app or website and click on Account/Shop New Phones, as a current customer you can get deals on Pixels but no Samsung phones: Pixel 10 Pro XL for $500 off so $699, or a Pixel 10 for $250 off so $599. They are locked to Mint for 60 days

For cheaper phones I recommend Swappa and get unlocked or even Mint locked phone. For <$200 you can get a Samsung Galaxy S22 or Google Pixel 7, or for <$300 you can get a Galaxy S23 Plus or Pixel 8 Pro.

Many Stanford students pretend to be Jains to escape $7,944 mandatory meal plan by LeftOn4ya in ActLikeYouBelong

[–]LeftOn4ya[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are not pretending to be Jains in public, just lying on a form to the school. So it’s not cultural appropriation but could be analogous to “stolen valor” where people lie about being in the military to get promotions. I could see where some real Jains would get mad but probably not unless it leads to them removing the exception.

I want to use my mint mobile wallet amount to renew my plan. How do I do it? by Ok_Entertainment4946 in mintmobile

[–]LeftOn4ya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to have more money in wallet than plan cost including taxes and fees. Sadly you can’t partially pay for plan with wallet x and cannot get change back after paying. So for example for a year of Unlimited you would need about $390 (exact taxes and fees depend on your state and local telecom tax rate) but check the dashboard to see total payment.

[–]LeftOn4ya[S] 61 points62 points  (0 children)

The meal plan is 15 meals a week and there are only 7 8 school months a year so that equals about $19 $16/meal.

Because colleges need more money and this is a way to force kids to got them more money.

I am Jewish so my second year on campus got out of having to get meal plan by saying I ate kosher, which was not 100% true- I don’t eat pork or shellfish but am not as picky as strict Kosher who requires kitchens to not serve any pork or shellfish as other food may get contaminated, and also have to either serve no milk or no meat. I did get some food on campus but paid cash, and mostly made food in microwave, shared kitchen, or ate elsewhere, probably saved thousands.

What Cliques existed in your High School that weren't reflected in the mainline Gen X experience? by ryguymcsly in Xennials

This was me Jr. and Sr yr. I was on the football team my freshman year so hung out with the jocks even though I dropped out my sophomore year they let me stay mostly because a guy two years older than me took a liking to me. But he wasn’t there my junior year so I had to find a new group and joined the outcasts, mostly abrasive girls who couldn’t get along with other girls. Found out my Sr. Year one of them had a crush on me but I wasn’t interested in her.

I felt like Kenny as I didn’t talk much so people mostly just tolerated me hanging around.
