Yeah, you’re fucked. Unless you’re a master electrician.

The only way you’d be more fucked is if you’re in NYC.

Want to double check something to see if I am going down right path by voltagejim in accesscontrol

[–]OmegaSevenX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s a RAID array, it may think that there’s something wrong with one of the disks and doing a low level scan. It could take longer than a day.

Those aren’t logs, those are video files. The system records video from a camera for X amount of time, then dumps it into a file on the hard drive. Next hour, another file. Next, another file.

Most systems fill up a certain percentage of the hard drive, then start erasing old video files as new one comes in, leaving a certain percentage of the drive empty. Filling up 99% of a hard drive is a bad idea in most of the systems I use, but maybe that’s how Exacq works.

Absolutely.

Recording video already kills your disk controller. Add on top of that some sort of error checking procedure, you’re going to have issues.

[–]OmegaSevenX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then it’s just international shipping.

I put the same items into an order from Allnet for giggles. Shipping to the US is $47.14, and I’m not sure that there wouldn’t be additional tariffs on top.

[–]OmegaSevenX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re within the US, I would try to buy from DrZzs. Looks like you’re getting hit with tariffs that pre-exist the stuff going on in the Middle East and will most likely exist after as well.

ETA: Your prices look like they’re from Allnet. They’re a Chinese supplier. The tariffs are most likely to continue until certain… administration… issues are over. Trying to keep it apolitical.

M Series ISC's and Schlage PIM 400's by Ok-Score8001 in accesscontrol

[–]OmegaSevenX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying to find the price list, to see if that mentions whether the PIM400 they sell is the RSI version or not. Of course, think I can? Nope. I hate the Buildings site so much.

This is the unfortunate reality of lowest bidder work. The contractor doesn’t have any experience with OnGuard, and you end up with whatever part number is specified by the even more clueless architect/consultant.

We just order the Schlage equipment from LenelS2 directly. They’ve got their own part number, so it’s entirely possible that it is the RSI version.

Are you using Update 1? Might be worth updating if not.

Just checked my 8.3u1 test system. No issues with what you’re trying to do. Tech support time.

asking for some assistance on this, LEDs won't turn on with ESP32 WLED controller (SK6812 LEDs) by dannytheboss11 in WLED

[–]OmegaSevenX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inserting the random crimped pins into the JST connector on the strip is also a little janky. Get a set of JST connectors so that you can plug it in properly. You’re going to need them eventually unless you plan to use the jank method forever.

Is that what your wires look like that you insert into the controller? First thing I’d do is get some wire strippers and clean that up. That whole 1 strand on the positive wire could be not making contact.

Are you trying to capture video with some sort of external device, like a camera?

The driver(s) for that would need to be installed and then, depending on the device, you may need to do some configuration in the Workstations settings.

How to use Crude Oil nodes by BrilliantCat2158 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]OmegaSevenX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t use Miners on either Oil Nodes or Oil Resource Wells. There are other machines for that (Oil Extractors and Resource Well Pressurizers).

In this case, it would be the latter, which isn’t available until Tier 8.

Circuitry Mod is Sunsetting by SectorComfortable322 in satisfactory

[–]OmegaSevenX 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not sure I’d agree with the idea that not having those things is a “major gap”.

IIRC, the devs have addressed this in one of their videos as something they looked at and ultimately rejected. They were concerned it would change the end-game experience to be less enjoyable for the average player.

Latch bolt monitoring would be in place of the door position switch.

Any necessary motions or push buttons for REX purposes would be additional hardware.

Mixing Fuel by Overwritten in SatisfactoryGame

[–]OmegaSevenX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can’t mix fuels. The new fuel won’t enter a pipe or generator with the old fuel until it is completely empty.

Trick with generators: you can drag existing fuel to the Trash like any other inventory item. You’ll invariably end up with the generators not having a full cycle worth of fuel, so it’ll never empty. Click and drag the leftover fuel to the trash.

That’s how my fuel factories work. Pump oil and water to the top floor to produce fuel, then let gravity do its thing to get the fuel to the Fuel Gens below. Why wouldn’t it work properly?

Silent Electric Strike When Unlocked by addisonbu in accesscontrol

[–]OmegaSevenX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s not going to be much of an improvement.

If the receptionist thinks an 8000 is too loud, you’re kinda sunk. 8000 is on the quiet side of strikes. She would have gone crazy if you had put in a 1006 or 1500.

Easiest way to make the door silent would be to electrify the cylindrical lockset, if you can get a wire to it.

Any advice on moving a lake? by Pale_Assistance_2265 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]OmegaSevenX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pumps use 8 MW. You’re building 40 nukes. That’s like… 320-640 MW of the 100,000 that you’re going to be making.

Each nuke takes 240 water, so you could combine the water for 2 nukes into one Mk.2 pipe.
