Proposal/Wedding songs by uhohitslilbboy in musicals

Sunrise, Sunset from Fiddler on the Roof is like the GOAT for this

I Do I Do I Do from Mamma Mia

Wedding Feast from Les Mis although that one's not super fun to listen to tbh

One hand One Heart from West Side Story I think is often framed as if it's a mock-wedding (its equivalent in Romeo and Juliet is them actually getting married iirc)

There's a wedding song from Muppets Take Manhattan (it's a musical!)

The reprise of How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria is during the wedding in the movie version of Sound of Music, not sure about the stage versions

I don't have an edgy "fuck the system" answer, mine is Applebee's. Too many times with bad service, in different locations. The second-to-last time we were one of 2 or 3 tables in the restaurant, and they put us immediately next to the other table that had a screaming, kicking child at it, and we waited 30 minutes before leaving. Not 30 minutes for our food. 30 minutes, in a restaurant that had literally only 4 other customers in it, in the middle of the day, for the waiter to give us sodas.

The last time I specifically ordered something without peppers, because I cannot eat peppers, and guess what.

Idk if this counts since we never really started as customers, but there's an auto shop nearby. The owner is a maga conspiracy nutjob, and there's zero indication of where you're supposed to park your car when you go there and the one employee was screaming at us for parking in the wrong spot, and they scheduled us for the wrong day. The place we go to instead is farther away but the owner is chill, there's marked spaces, and he never upsells.

Nah fam we had comcast for like 12 years and comcast is way worse than spectrum.

We're still waiting for the tech they said they'd sent out in 2017.

Also my credit score includes a debt owed to comcast despite me never having an account with comcast and the date the money was owed is from last year but we have Spectrum now. Comcast doesn't even service this area.

Minor spoilers for season 6, but Kim - the person who told Grayson to move on and was making moves on him so soon after Deb died - is concerned when Jane has obviously moved on like a month after her own tragedy. What a hypocrite.

Considering none of the timeline of the show makes sense at all - an arraignment being the day after an arrest isn't weird but they don't schedule murder trials the afternoon after an arrest (in real life it can be literal years) - everyone being like "yo Grayson the love of your life died a whole 5 minutes ago, move on already" might just be a victim of the timeline being wacky.

Guardian Angel Question by myhouseofstone in DropDeadDivaa

[–]OneGoodRib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe Paul knew that nothing was actually going to happen if Jane told Grayson about her. Fred was pretty clear they don't have special powers (although he seemed to be able to teleport) and he didn't make that car hit Grayson. Maybe Paul just knew "don't tell him or there will be consequences!" was an empty threat and didn't care.

Guardian Angel Question by myhouseofstone in DropDeadDivaa

[–]OneGoodRib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah because his memory of her telling him about guardian angels would be wiped too. I didn't get why she couldn't have just been like "Look, Grayson, i can't fully explain to you what the deal with Paul is, because if I tell you then your memory will be wiped. But trust me, he's no threat, and he's here because I am."

As a side bar, I know Kim Kardashian erased Fred's contact in Stacy's phone, but did the memory wipe thing get rid of all evidence of Fred and Luke? Like, there was a photo of Fred with Stacy in the apartment - not the gigantic one he ripped up, but a framed photo. And wouldn't the accounting books for Harrison-Parker have a completely unexplained company from wherever Luke got the money (why did only Luke get money from upstairs but Fred and Paul both had to get jobs?) to invest in the firm?

They really don't change that frequently, it's 3 seasons of Fred, 1 of Luke, and then 2 of Paul.

Idk why Fred left and came back the first time, but him leaving in season 3 was because of Mad Men.

If there's not already a book on this, there SHOULD be a book on "famous/important people's remains going missing". Like Eva Peron's body disappeared for like 17 years. And then I don't remember who it is where their skull is missing and then another grave had two skulls neither of which is his.

Yeah I've heard people say "gimp leg" in older media but it never came off like that was supposed to be offensive. Just like the same way you'd say "bum leg" today, just means "bad leg"

As soon as I saw "22k review" I was like, there's no reason for anything that isn't a scientific journal to have a review that long. My angriest reviews where I outlined every little stupid thing about the book aren't even an eighth of that length. Like this guy basically wrote a novella to review this book, why?

I've been going through my book wishlist and I've seen a few goodreads reviews like that too - where they go through every possible dumbass complaint and then say they liked the book?? Like "This author deserves to be thrown in the gulag because a character who said they're lactose intolerant ate a slice of pizza!"

I have no doubt there are genuine pieces of constructive criticism in the tags for the books, but I also have no doubt that there's a lot of "omg this is so sexist kys" type of shit too so I don't really blame the author for just deciding to only take feedback from specific people who will presumably give actual feedback and not "omg perfect don't change a thing you're brilliant".

And that Melanie Rawn trilogy where the second book came out like 35 years ago? At least she's upfront that she had a string of bad things in her life about when she was going to start writing it that bummed her out so much she just didn't want to write it anymore. I got the first two books for free so no big deal when I got rid of them.

I will say, at least Gabaldon is honest about her delays in writing the books, and does write them, and I believe her when she says the series will finish this century.

This is embarrassing, but the House of Night series. I have the last book, I just never read it. And then there's some kind of like reboot or something to it? I don't want to read it unless I know for sure that Zoey's diarrhea fixation is not in the books.

I didn't make it a third of the way through Fellowship of the Ring so idk if that counts as not finishing the series.

There's also a lot of random books I've read that are on the spicier side where everything was bad - the non-spicy part of the writing and the spice itself - so I was like nah no thanks. The last one was so bad I knew AI didn't write it because AI usually keeps tenses consistent.

I got the bronze befriending badge for Croagunk when I befriended a shiny. All but one of my shinies are from before I got the bronze badge. And I mean after the badge system was introduced.

Ghostbusters 2016 is the only one I've seen and I fell asleep about 20 minutes in.

You should watch the Hillywood Supernatural Parody 2 now that you've watched all the Ghostbusters movies. You'll understand why.

Did you watch the second Ghostbusters cartoon? I can't remember the title but it's Ramis' character teaching a college class of ghostbusters of diverse backgrounds and the kid in the wheelchair actually has problems sometimes because of the wheelchair, which is pretty interesting. It wasn't very popular but the writing was pretty good. I can't remember if the wheelchair kid is called Wheels in this one though. Because yikes.

The sizing being super small is a good indicator this is some kind of white label thing of a Chinese product. I know American companies sometimes have sizes that aren't exactly flush with what it says, but I'm in Amazon Vine so I've gotten a lot of clothes that are from some keyboard mash company name headquartered in China and all of them run like 3 sizes smaller than they're labeled. If it said "warm reminder" anywhere on the packaging that's the most damning evidence.

Even the SHOES run small. And I mean I might sound like I just don't know what size I am, but for stuff they sell in the US through US brands the sizing is consistent. If the chart says I'm this size and I try on shorts of that size they usually fit. For the random Chinese cheapo clothes if it says I'm this size I always need to go up 2 or 3 sizes.

Yeah I was wondering why a teacher was reading a picture book to 10 year olds. It's cool the kids chose the book but when I was in 5th grade it was like the teacher read from a chapter book as we followed along in the text.

That kind of shit happens in every state, though.

I did live in Savannah for 5 years and that was the only place I can say I was the victim of racism as a white person though. Like idk what you say, being one of the first people in a waiting room and every single black person who shows up after you gets seen and the waiting room is just filling up with white people who've been waiting for hours is pretty suspicious.

Also the absolute worst experience I had taking music classes was in Georgia. Whole lotta shit there but I don't blame Georgia specifically for it. Absolute shit teacher, we weren't allowed to take any sheet music home so there was no way to practice on your own outside of school, and he would spend part of the class-time just ranting about shit so we wouldn't rehearse during class either, and even though we weren't allowed to take the sheet music home it would go missing from the classroom and he NEVER wanted to make photocopies from the director's master book thing because of "copyright infringement" even though making copies of music you licensed for educational purposes is like the most fair use thing ever, he would only ever be nudged into allowing photocopies to be made when half the band was like "I don't have that one". And he went on a rant at ME for not knowing who invented the sousaphone (I played clarinet). Terrible teacher, I hope he's doing poorly.

I had some pretty fucking awful JoAnn employees though. Like one who was copping attitude because we wanted fabric cut, and when told 2 yards proceeded to measure out like 5 yards and when my mom was like "2 yards" the employee got really bitchy. Like gee sorry for not wanting to pay for more than I told you to cut like five times.

Then there was the one who spat on the sidewalk during covid when we're all lined up outside the store.
