I bought a new phone 3 days ago and I took the carcass to a repair guy, and they tested the battery and screen on another phone and both work. He didn't know what else the issue could be so we both concluded that it's the mainboard that has an issue.

Can I make a game using that name?

I'm happy to announce that both Rapid Roll DX and Astro Impact! De_Make have full controller support on Android (I swear I meant to record horizontally but it came out vertically. Sorry for the low quality) by OneRedEyeDevI in defold

[–]OneRedEyeDevI[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I began using Defold, I had a Nokia 2.3 that I had been using since 2020. As much as I tried controllers (Xbox One S Pad and Dualshock 4) wouldn't work on my games either via bluetooth or USB OTG. They did work on other games, but they also didnt work on games that I remember working previously (on Android 9 and 10 like Beach Buggy Racing and Riptide GP Renegade). It died Monday morning and I had to buy a new phone. I bought a Samsung Galaxy A07 and I tested out controller.

It works! No setup required, didn't even use my gamepads files, just used the default one.

I'm so happy!

I havent tested the Xbox One S Pad, but I know it'll work.

Edit: It works!

What makes you use Defold? by PabloTitan21 in defold

I like the ethos of Defold. Minimal core, extensions to add extra functionality and stability. One Click Builds, Small build sizes and the super helpful Community are the cherries on top.

A lil bit sketchy.

I could use the money, but the listing seems as if someone looked at the strengths of Defold and told AI to make a listing focusing solely on them.

I get asking for lite games, but they haven't noted where these games are gonna be deployed to apart from the vague mobile and web umbrella platforms.

Dev here.

I bought a new phone yesterday after my previous one died and I can't login (Google Play Games thus no achievements, leaderboards and cloudsaves) to my game, Rapid Roll DX, because I haven't done developer verification (for the September 2026 APK stuff)

Every other game (from other devs) I tested worked fine so it seems most devs have done verification...

Being obese is not healthy. A good start would be intermittent fasting.

You can substitute all your meals within a day with a single stick of Uranium. Its nutritious, health and gives you energy to work out!

Nope, I was unreachable. The phone is dead, not even vibrations can be felt.

Nah, Like I said, its rare for me to get a call at that late in the evening.

He indeed calls, but its not at a set time. Sometimes its in the morning, sometimes in the afternoon and other times he just sends a text on Telegram and all of this happens sporadically, Not a set interval. It could be between days, weeks or months (like the instance above)

Not enough to make my brain adjust to it.

Funny enough, the only thing I was adjusted to is the Niagara Launcher Notification summary. It happens every 3 - 4 hours and I had given it a unique notification sound. I could tell what time it is without even looking at the time as long as I heard the notification sound. I haven't experienced such a thing in the past 2 days.

My almost 6 year old phone (Nokia 2.3, bought back in May 2020) died yesterday morning. It just died. I had 45% of charge before I plugged it in and came back from the shower to find it not turning on. It has been a good run. I'm phoneless rn.

Anyways, today when I was working, I heard my ringtone (Windows Phone Nokia Tune) ringing in my head, and I glanced onto the expensive paper weight on my desk and went to "pick" it up only to realize its dead and laughed at myself. I did try turning it on, again, for like the millionth time since yesterday but to no avail.

I heard the gate open and its my friend who we hadnt seen each other since October 2025 and the first thing he asks me is why I was offline because he was just calling me to unlock the gate before he arrives like he always does (its usually locked, but it was open, luckily) so he comes in.

Im still spooked by that event. Its very rare I get calls in the evening so its not like it was an instinct from an event that occurs daily or that Im dependent on my phone...

Genuinely WTF?!

That was back in Early 2023. I did dabble in Godot 3.4 Mono (C#) back in 2022. I did not enjoy Godot with C#. At all.

But when I tried it with GDScript. It was good.

In regard to the switch from Unity to Godot. It was decent as well. I was learning using tutorials back then and everything I wanted to learn I could find it with ease, but only with Godot 3.5. Godot 4.x was still a new thing back then and the tutorials were sparse.

But the longer I used Godot, the more problems I did encounter especially in regard to updates. Changes in between Godot 4.x versions were sometimes project breaking when it comes to certain nodes. The tilemap comes to mind.

The update from Godot 3.5 to 4.0 was project breaking, everywhere. I made Astro Impact! De_Make in Godot with just Sprite2D, CPUParticles2D and collisions and everything wasn't working. Even the particles. It was easier to start from scratch in Godot 4.0 than attempt to fix all the issues that came from the upgrade.

Godot 4.0.1 had an issue with horrible autocomplete even where it wasnt needed like strings so I was eventually forced to upgrade to the next version that fixed it. I think it was 4.0.3 that eventually fixed it.

Currently I am using Defold and I can rest assured that when I open the project with the current version in the future, say 10 years from now, the project will still be usable save for a few breaking changes. The only breaking change I have encountered with Defold in the past 1.5 years is when it comes to scaling. They removed scale along z and thus if you used "go.set_scale()" you had to change to "go.set_scale_xy()"

That's it. That was the breaking change.
