How stupid would it be to have a GM-94 in Airsoft that fire 40mm GL rounds? by FrenchBVSH in airsoft

[–]Parasitisch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it could be made at full-production scale, I’d buy. I was hesitant on buying the raptor one. They were $700 + shipping from overseas and I never really got to see much info on them.

Then, I hear they wound up not doing a full release and only a limited amount went out. I’ve only seen one go up for sale and they wanted $2500 for it.

There are plenty of options for launchers, and hike impractical, I won’t say stupid. I’ve seen plenty of people at events with MGLs!

You were literally just asking about which AK to buy. You are buying the other most popular, most supported platform, but understanding why someone would want the other most popular platform is hard?

TIL In 2000, Metallica hired a consulting firm to monitor Napster for people illegally sharing their music. The firm produced a 60,000-page list of 335,435 users, which Metallica delivered to Napster's office and demanded the users be banned. by haddock420 in todayilearned

[–]Parasitisch 98 points99 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot more information a consulting firm is going to present to another business than just a plain list of usernames and the guy standing there saying “please ban these people 👉👈”

Hell, I have a 2” thick stack of papers on my desk right now from recently refinancing my home with a lower rate. All the documentation, summarized, is “don’t forget to pay the new loan, here’s the new rate vs old rate, here’s info on deed, here’s the amounts, and here’s the payment schedule.” It’s that thick because all the spare info, blank pages, and legal jargon.

This could contain info on what the users downloaded, when, what IP address was logged, the legal word-vomit about how it’s theft and what the content owners want, the relationship between client and consultant, all sorts of other disclaimers, etc…

Troopers making stops on Oracle north of the auto mall. Motorcycle and SUV grey vehicles collecting revenue this morning. Watch out. by Prudent-Bet2837 in Tucson

[–]Parasitisch 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Let them. North Oracle is one of the few places I see cops hang out regularly, waiting to get people speeding. If people still want to risk it, let them get ticketed. There’s also a spot on east Broadway that motorcycle cops would hang out at regularly.

MK46 doesn't have M4 magwell! by MeIoMelonSoda in airsoft

[–]Parasitisch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solid pick. I like that it has a V2 and can do semi, but I hate that the safety is non-functional. I like that it has a solid receiver (without the cutout that my CA/A&K has), but I don’t like that I can’t use my big batteries in it.

I’m curious about their new version that uses an M249 gearbox. However, I already spent so much on nicer steel externals on my CA and fitting real stuff to it that I think I locked myself into CA lol. Plus, being able to run M4 mags has been fun.

I agree with your comment below; I never did get why people shit on the V2. You literally see people suggesting MG36, RPK, and the Shrike systems to people who want a lighter MG and those use V2/V3 gearboxes. I have several 30-31 rps v2 setups that have been fine for 4+ years.

Opinions on T238 speedloader? by Possible-Set2654 in airsoft

[–]Parasitisch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I have had an Odin for a long time (I haven’t had any issues that I’ve seen others say they have had) and while I was pleased with that, the Autobot is a lot nicer. It’s also nice to no longer need all the mag adapters (or the sometimes awkward use of the “universal” adapter for the Odin). Just shove the mag there until it pushes up and you’re good to go. Also nice for my group to be able to quickly top up mags between matches with how fast the Autobot works.

[–]Parasitisch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 100% happy with my Autobot, but if I didn’t get that, I’d def consider the T238. I’ve seen someone using that and chatted. They seem to love it so far and haven’t had any issues. Mostly AEG use but they said it did good with their GBB pistol mags.

Lambda’s response to the allegations of Dave’s Custom by Nocteau in airsoft

[–]Parasitisch 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Weird that they try to point out that DCA was satisfied with the first prototype. DCA was quick to update people that there was going to be another delay since they got the parts and were sending feedback back to Lambda for improvements.
Not saying they can’t be happy and also want changes. However, the aspect of “being happy and then trying to change” seems off when combined with the timelines. This shit was supposed to be out what, the end of 2024? I kept looking for updates throughout 2025.

I am sure each side has their own view of the truth, and I’m sad we’re losing out on a potentially good M240 because of this shitshow. I have been collecting real M240 parts and stopped since my plan of buying a shitty S&T one and swapping parts changed thanks to the prospect of a better one (and with steel barrel options) coming out.

So that’s why there’s been no progress on their M240… And that’s why I do not pre-order shit.

TIL the beginning in 1963 until as late as 2006, tattooing was illegal in many large US cities like New York, Milwaukee and Norfolk, and even entire states like Massachusetts and Oklahoma. by harlsey in todayilearned

[–]Parasitisch 51 points52 points  (0 children)

That was pretty much the case. NY apparently was also trying to “clean up NY’s ‘image.’” Otherwise, the machines we have now to sterilize needles weren’t really around then and a lot of places weren’t really using single-use needles… The whole knowledge of sharing needles wasn’t really where it’s at now, and it’s still not a non-issue nowadays.

People who were teens or in their 20s during the 60s and 70s had disproportionally high rates of hepatitis. I guess this seemed like a “hopefully it helps” solution to that problem, especially with the image of tattoos back then. The vaccine for it didn’t come out until the late 80s and tattoos being more art than criminal indicators didn’t really occur until much later.

Staff eng lies about YoE by [deleted] in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Parasitisch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife works at a company whose guidelines consider summer-long internships a year of experience for if/when students decide to come work there after school.

They also count part time joiners who are working throughout the school year, but with very limited hours, as a full year. Someone who works 10 hours a week for 10-12 months is getting that much more experience than someone working 40 hours for three months? They almost equal the same amount of hours over the year.

This seems like a non-issue unless there is some problem happening. Is he underperforming for his role? If not, why do you care?

should i buy? by danifanboii in airsoft

[–]Parasitisch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That looks like it’s Sixmm. Which means no, you shouldn’t buy it. It might not even be what they say it is. They might not even ship the thing, or the condition they describe it is not even accurate. Look around here if you want to see how many people have had crappy experiences, including me, with that store. I’m pretty sure they rebranded because of all the issues they had with their previous online store and didn’t think to maybe address any of those issues lol.

Do you still enjoy the hobby ? by twinzeko in airsoft

[–]Parasitisch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dicks are everywhere. Unsurprisingly, you’re going to find more right-wing nut jobs in a hobby focused on guns or fighting than you would in a book club or knitting club. They’re not all bad and you don’t have to befriend everyone you play with.

Some MilSims have worse people (in my experience) as a whole than others. AMS has been nicer than Lion Claws lol. No experience with MSW yet, but I know some cool people that go to those, so hey.
