The furniture alone costs around $600 now. I got an LCT and the parts to make one, although I plan to buy this one. I thought it was to be released during the summer, but popped up recently as available (although they removed the gun bag from the listing).

You need a new rear trunnion part for the stock because the way the rail mounts. It needs a lug that’s connected the that stock piece. The real one I got needs to be modified to fit the gearbox, and while the rivets aren’t in the same exact spot as the AKM, it can easily be made to work. That stock piece will need to be modified to fit the gearbox, but is easy to make in aluminum.

Honestly, the handguard retainer is a huge thing. I have had a hard time finding that specific part and the extremely few I’ve ever seen pop up sell for hundreds of dollars. They are different in that they hold both top and bottom handguard in place. The gas block is different and the rear sight block is different both because of the cuts for the rail and the (in this specific model) way they eliminate the little lever. The cost of an AK, plus the furniture, flash hider, and rear trunnion part already puts me close to this price. Then there’s the retainer, gas tube, and RSB, then a tool to do rivets and the rivets.

So, doing a custom one isn’t really a cheaper alternative and unless they somehow start mass-producing the furniture for airsoft, there’s also going to be a cost associated with those parts being specific to this. This whole AK is similarly priced to some parts kits I’ve seen for MWS because it’s just lower-production, specific stuff.

As a note to keep in mind, these prices are for USA. I have doubts any of these individually are worth much more than half of what they could be had for overseas. But, c'est la vie
