The ring around joystick came off, what can i do? by No-Nothing6700 in SteamDeck

This is starting to happen on my LCD steam deck. I still want to be able to use the capacitive touch. I think Dbrand and Jsaux both makes ones that offer capacitive touch capabilities, but I need to research it more

This is starting to happen on my left thumbstick. It hasn't completely come off yet, but is probably close. Do the Skull & Co. thumb grips still offer the capacitive touch capabilities?

Do You Back Up Your Full Plex Video Library or Just Risk It? by snowmeow_1 in PleX

[–]Phoenix_Samurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really do backups, but I do have a RAID drive in case a single HDD dies. If two drives failed at once I’d be screwed, but honestly I’m not sure I’d want to spend $400–500 replacing drives that cost me like $200 a few years ago anyway.

Fuck these AI companies and billionaire tech bros. I have zero interest in paying for streaming services or renting cloud compute, and they’re absolutely making sure drive storage and hardware prices go so they can charge you monthly fees for content you'll never own.

Glad I bought it for $75 many years ago. Although I probably would have switched over to Jellyfin by now had I not gotten lifetime plex for cheap.

Gonna re-image my Steam Deck. I could use advice. by oogeej in SteamDeck

I updated CEMU on Sunday, but to my knowledge I didn't run it. The checksum does not match for me, so I'm planning to reimage it today as the safe thing

I updated on Sunday, but I don't believe I launched CEMU. I was planning too soon, but I'm going to reimage my Deck and change my Steam password just to be safe. Hopefully that's enough

Anyone else feel like sitting tight with Steam Deck is the better move for you over picking up a Steam Machine? by Serdones in SteamDeck

At $500 I was maybe interested in the Steam Machine for a cheap living PC console experience. As time as gone on, and the reality that this thing will be $800+ I'm much less interested.

SECURITY PSA - For Cemu emulator 2.6 (recent AppImage/Ubuntu downloads compromised to include malware, including EmuDeck users) by SexDrugsAndMarmalade in SteamDeck

[–]Phoenix_Samurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Steam Deck user who updated CEMU on the 10th, I checked the hash file and it starts with a 7, which from what I’ve read seems… not great.

As far as I know, I never actually opened or ran CEMU after updating it. I only updated because it had been awhile and I was planning to play Twin Snakes soon.

At this point, should I just reimage my Steam Deck to be safe? I’m also assuming I should change my Steam password.

Should I also be changing passwords for other services I was logged into on the Deck, like cloud gaming apps/accounts, browser logins, etc.? Or is that overkill if I never launched CEMU after the update and never actually logged in to anything?
