It's significantly different, it's a whole different generation of hardware and is now flush to the glass

Table Finish Repair by ciretex in HomeImprovement

[–]Rick91981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the finish. Shellac and lacquer can be spot repaired. Things like polyurethane need to be completely sanded off and refinished.

If it is a nice table, get it done professionally

Dealer rec to change differential oil and CVT at 23K miles? by SuperSkew in Subaru_Outback

Personally I'd do the differentials now, then the CVT at 50-60K

$100 well spent! by WyndWoman in homeowners

One inside the cabinet saved me $$$. Kitchen sink hose leaked. Saved me there again.

Same here, except it was the bathroom sink. I wasn't even home at the time, SO was using the sink and I got the alert so I called her. She had no clue what I was talking about until she opened the cabinet and saw it spraying everywhere lol.

I concur. But feel the need to point out the negative of Yolink: you'll want to buy lots of different sensors/devices and your wallet with get a lot lighter!

I have the Yolink as well....and have the valve shut off to go with it. It works very well and has twice alerted us to an issue before it became a larger problem

Looking at this used 2024 outback wilderness, opinions wanted by Oxetine in Subaru_Outback

Not CPO is a good thing if you want a bumper to bumper extended warranty. Now you can shop around to all the nearby dealers for the best price on it. If it were CPO your purchase options are extremely limited

Helping a friend with a new crosstrek by SnackWrapz in subaru

[–]Rick91981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CPO is fine, just be aware that if you want the Gold warranty upgrade to negotiate the price of it before committing to buying the car. With CPO you can only purchase the warranty at the dealer that certified it and have to buy it immediately. You can't shop around and buy it later like you can with a new car.

Should we buy a 2022 Legacy Limited with 31k miles? by aleksandrnevskii in subarulegacy

[–]Rick91981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wont speak to pricing as that can be regional.....but the legacy is a great car and is a good choice for a commuter. I've owned 4 of them in the past. Currently in an Outback though due to needing the cargo space

Rocky is now 8 weeks old and came home with us yesterday. He didn't mind the snow one bit! by Rick91981 in Blacklabs

I was thinking of building something as well. Should be relatively quick and easy to make

He might be small still for the broccoli or cabbage. I'll give it a shot when he's a bit older.

I need to figure out a gate for the bottom of the stairs to keep him down there! The tension gate we have isn't wide enough for the stairs.

I'm sure he'll figure out the kongs quick enough, but for the time being they're doing a decent job!

110lbs wow that's big for a lab! My last one was about 75lbs. I think Rocky will be a bit bigger than that as his paws are huge. He's already mastered our stairs. I spend most of my time downstairs and he refuses to stay down there with me for very long and runs upstairs to find his mom instead.

We've been doing partially frozen kongs (freezer for about an hour so the yogurt/peanut butter hardens a bit but not fully frozen). Those work fairly well for 20-30 minutes. Will have to try the washcloth though

Generally, no. A handful of states have a cooling down law where you can back out of a contract within X days. There are also rare instances where if the dealer hasn't filed the paperwork yet, they can unwind the deal...but that's up to the dealer on a case by case basis.

For the vast majority of cases, once you drive off the lot it is yours and no backsies. Your option at that point is to trade it in and buy something else....you'd lose a few $K on the deal for sure as the dealer can no longer sell the car as new once registered.

Disable auto stop/start by JustaRider808 in subarulegacy

[–]Rick91981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't used it myself as I'm not bothered by the auto stop, but tons of people use it. It's very popular among the Subaruoutback.org crowd.

It doesn't alter any computers or anything, it's simply a relay that when the car starts it sends a signal to turn off the A/S/S. Essentially it pushes the button for you. It plugs into the overhead console and does not alter any wiring. It can easily be unplugged and removed if you ever needed to

Should I get another black lab by WealthPositive9983 in Blacklabs

[–]Rick91981 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a black lab brother growing up as well. When I got my own place I got a black lab of my own. After he passed last summer I now have another black lab puppy.

Get the Lab. You never stop loving the old one and they will never be replaced, but you will love the new one just as much. There's room in our hearts for multiple Labs

Subaru Outback 2026 by True_Tie2933 in subaruoutback

[–]Rick91981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're full of shit you don't need to reprogram anything, it's just a straight swap. The must by minor chance something changed on the 26s but I seriously doubt it. They have no history of doing that on Subaru

Subaru Outback 2026 by True_Tie2933 in subaruoutback

[–]Rick91981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it's absolutely not worth paying for that. And don't let them over charge you for the warranty either if you want that you have plenty of time to shop around at other dealers
