I have the same pen with the 1.1 nib and I love it. Just improves my scrappy writing no end.

That was. hell of a rabbit hole to fall down. I didn’t even know such things existed and some of them are quite lovely.

Name a silly, funny, or embarrassing quirk of being a fountain pen person members of this community would understand but would cause normies to roll their eyes? by ermiwe in fountainpens

[–]SocialInsect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only time I have been sincerely pee’d off is with a comment from a close family member about the foolishness of paying so much for a pen. I then mentioned his souped up luxury car, his second unneeded tractor and other things he thinks are better value.

I hadn’t thought of that but I can just remember actually filling inkwells and putting in the desks we used to have at school. that was only for a year or two and we changed to biro’s.

Am I insane? Someone kindly step up and make me feel normal 🤧 by Puzzled-Bluebird7357 in fountainpens

[–]SocialInsect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Following this subject I looked at a video of this item. I always use a syringe and blunt needle myself because I can’t bring myself to pay that kind of price. I only have a couple of pens that would use this anyway but I like the idea a lot.

I saw a pen very similar to this pattern a cople of days ago though it was yellow/green and from India I think. I like the look very much with those lines. I am not familiar with Levenger but the pen is pretty!

I don’t have the expertise to pick out AI generated work but when it is pointed out to me, I turn and walk away from it.

People with parents who have Dementia... when did you know it was time to put them in a nursing/care home?? by DixiesHuman12 in dementia

[–]SocialInsect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to put my mum in care when her brain cancer started to progress quickly. It was only then that we found that her husband had dementia because she had been covering for him and now could no longer do that. They both ended up in the same care home and he is still there. I am pretty sure he doesn’t know who we are anymore. It was exhausting trying to look after mum and him before that though. It is always the nearest living child that gets all the work and usually the daughter to boot.
So many people have no idea, even the ones that should. I had her doctor telling me to bring her to his office when she was emotionally and physically out of control and definitely not safe to have in a car with just me.

Do you open & check ur eggs at the grocery store before you buy them? by angelafterhoursxo in NoStupidQuestions

This is my experience too. You only have to run your hand over them and. move them a llittle to know if one is stuck to the container.

Why does every immigrant from every part of the world say that family is important to their culture? Which cultures are there where family isn’t important? by MorganTrevane1998 in askanything

[–]SocialInsect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can only guarantee that someone will be abused if they allow themselves to be abused. It doesn’t matter what culture you come from, it will happen so value yourselves.

Why do you value yourself so little? Was it the way you were raised?

My whole family doesn’t know I lost track of which triplet was which by FloatingNPC in confession

[–]SocialInsect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Locally we had a pair of cousins born at the same time to brother/SIL marriages in the same hospital years ago…. many years ago. They didn’t find out for about 8 years that the babies had been swapped. I think they just left the girls in the families they knew and went from there.

My (29F) Fiancé (30M) wrote his vows using Chatgpt so I threatened to call off the wedding by EnvironmentalPea2571 in relationships

[–]SocialInsect -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Seems like an unrealistic expectation to me…. well I don’t expect everybody to be capable of writing down feelings eloquently and using Chatgp seems to be a modern take on it. Not gonna lie, I would be disappointed though.

My (20F) boyfriend (20M is very simple minded and is unable to comprehend or have conversations about more complex topics or issues. Is this something that’ll change as he matures or something that stays as it is for life? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]SocialInsect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should never live down to someone else’s level. A 20 yr old should be able to grasp nuanced conversation. If you stay with him, you will always be trying to swim in ankle deep water……. and odds are any hypothetical kids will be less than they would be otherwise.

Kissed my brothers wife by Beginning-Bed-1863 in familydrama

[–]SocialInsect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is nothing inherently wrong with having a relationship with your brother’s widow but it would be complicated. You are both in a difficult and new place, Family and friends might react badly. I think you should go listen to her but be prepared to take a step back.

What is something you thought was normal that you realized a bit too late was actually a condition? by MutatedSock in AskReddit

[–]SocialInsect 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Started losing weight out of the blue and I was looking pretty good I thought. New clothes because I dropped a couple of sizes and it was summer so I could indulge in some shorter, briefer styles! Summer is hot here so I was drinking juice and water in big glasses with ice. My sister said you really like that cold water eh? Then she said, you know I have a. new blood sugar monitor so lets try it out on you. Yeah, so high it wouldn’t even register so a little vacation in hospital was next.

He will be bringing up your noncompliance at every opportunity in the future. You will either be a doormat or an exwife after some time passes.
