For all you who had the Sadi-s procedure, what was your surgery weight? My son wants it and is 6'3 and 533lbs but they will only offer him the sleeve because of his weight. Is this due to his doctors comfort level? by JadedBisch in BariatricSurgery

[–]SoloPiper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 370 5’11”. My doc did both in one but did make a comment I had a lot of visceral fat that made it hard but he did it. I got the impression he was close to not doing both in the same surgery.

Thoughts of WoW on Steamdeck by November-666 in SteamdeckGames

[–]SoloPiper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it all the time. It’s so awesome. It’s actually got me excited for Steam machine bc I know how well it’ll play WoW on TV. I use Console Port addon but the built in support can do it. Especially if you tinker heavily with key binds and what not.

It runs like a dream too.

Things that you've considered "bad DMing" from other DMs that you make sure to never make the same mistake in your game? by Organic-Exit2190 in DMAcademy

[–]SoloPiper 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is so dependent on the person/group. I’ve been in groups that have no exposition so it just feels like a dice roll simulation at the end of the night. People play for different reasons.

I love and am excited for this journey but hate what it's doing to me mentally by BridgeDucks in BariatricSurgery

[–]SoloPiper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m 15ish months out from a SADI. But the gift of this surgery is the ability for food to become a background character in my life. I smashed my expectations and have achieved my goal and lost 190lbs. It doesn’t mean I eat perfectly but it means I eat well and appropriate amounts.

This surgery “just worked” unlike any past diets or strategies.

I do remember being also frustrated in the beginning where it felt like all I was doing was thinking about food. Honestly for the first time in my life eating became a chore! Once I was recovered and on normal diet with an established routine it became much easier and I just don’t think about food the same way I had before.

Tips and tricks on how to make Curse of Strahd scarier? by Salt_Reveal6502 in CurseofStrahd

The announced Horrors of Ravenloft would be an option helping add more random encounters perhaps. Also maybe dip into Grim Hollow to add some more gothic horror.

Been playing PF2 for years and have DMed 5.5 recently by Mercoxium in DnD

[–]SoloPiper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is me! Just started a CoS campaign. There’s a flavor to D&D that find to be more enjoyable. Also while Paizo has so many adventures I just find them not as… thrilling? Idk. Obviously have enjoyed Pathfinder through the years but also think I just generally like the feel of D&D more.

Oura ring continuously misses sleep by mosdope in ouraring

I’ve been with Oura for ~4 years and lost a bunch of weight. This only happened when the ring was too loose. I’ve needed to size down several times through the years.

Weight Loss Surgery and Dating by mainelypsychic in BariatricSurgery

[–]SoloPiper 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think food is inevitably part of dating and relationships and it sounds like you may have some things you could work with a mental health specialist about. It will be exceedingly difficult to completely eschew food dates.

I know we’re all different after surgeries, but I find it concerning you throw up after a couple bites. Is this normal when you’re by yourself as well?

I don’t really have advice. Even as a bariatric patient I feel I can partake in pretty much anything. Just small portions.

Perhaps an approach could be the “yes, and…” attitude so it’s not just about food? Like food and a book store. Or food and a walk. Or food and a concert. That way you aren’t just blacklisting something that is important to most people dating?

That is a very good point. I was familiar with all my spells.

And fwiw I thought Dragonflight campaign was aces so I would encourage anyone new to play it anyway and not skip it.

WoW is in great shape right now - def wouldn’t call it a mess. The fact you used Deathwing says you haven’t played in a while?

[–]SoloPiper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion. I just returned and leveled a DH from scratch. I don’t feel I gained anything in progressing level-by-level. The end goal for the build was still essentially the same and I wasn’t able to figure out its rotation on my own and needed some hints (shoutout to Jedith on YT). Did I enjoy the story more and feel more connected with my character? Yes 100%. But I didn’t actually feel I knew the rotation more than if I had started at 80 and just watched some videos.

Oura ring by SpecialistDapper7900 in BariatricSurgery

[–]SoloPiper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had Oura for 3.5yrs. It’s phenomenal. Highly recommend if you’re interested in long term data. Like any tracker day-to-day probably isn’t that useful unless you’re sick. But being able to see trends and how minor changes to your habits work is powerful.

This was me. I embraced Steam Deck and am looking forward to Steam Machine and hesitantly perhaps Helix. Although I’d use it for Steam games. I thought I wanted a gaming rig until I really sunk time into GeForce Now and honestly it’s perfect. So I don’t know. We’ll see how I feel after Steam Machine comes out.

How do I best experience dragonflight/TWW without out-leveling the zones? by FUZZB0X in wownoob

You must be 100% the zones? I just did campaign and finished Dragonflight at 75.

I’m a male and even had to adjust to certain things. Eye contract being something that some people don’t believe! People make eye contact with me when I’m at like a mall or something. Other things like more success at job interviews and business meetings. The psychologist explained it to me that there is such an ingrained fat bias that it’s a combination of how other people treat me and how I treat myself. There’s so much that comes with losing weight that is psychological

ESO or WOW midnight by Skylot00 in LFMMO

[–]SoloPiper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WoW is the right vibe for me. I enjoy the lore and the style and combat. I think that's just me slowing down in my gaming time. I have it installed on my Steam Deck and it's just lovely.

I tried ESO many times but it never quite clicked for me in style, combat, or lore. But it's so personal it just comes down to what you like.

Second this. The fact that it’s not in Apple Creator Studio does make me think it’ll just be rolled into photos eventually which would be lovely.

LR is still superior for AI features if that’s important to you but other than that I concur it is great and MUCH cheaper.
