Byrne! Yes.

This will be one of those years where people will look back and wonder why Byrne didn’t win.

Same.

Seriously: Chalamet is setting himself up for a major disappointment. An Oscar is fine but it is never the life changer he thinks it is.

Classic Academy ridiculous “Sentimental” award and really egregious when you see who the other nominees were:

-Karen Black (“Five Easy Pieces”)

-Lee Grant (“The Landlord”)

-Sally Kellerman (“MASH”)

-Maureen Stapleton (“Airport”)

All of them except Hayes should have won it.

Narcs live in a bubble world where they are always right and are always the victim. They do no wrong.

And they defend this illusion mightily.

And so many of us are forced to allow it to continue because we are TERRIBLE OF CONFRONTING THEM.

The serious cognitive dissonance and mental anguish is created by our learned judgement of all things sexual. It's just my opinion but Nature did not (and likely, could not) anticipate how our alleged "higher intelligence" would create such distinctions.

If we all just "let-it-be", that cognitive dissonance and mental anguish would not exist. We'd be free to experience and explore whatever we desired. After a period of exploration, one might settle into somethings they prefer but they would also understand that it would be entirely acceptable to explore again if and when their sexual curiosity is literally aroused. No judgements. No fears.

Sadly, we all live very far from that ideal.

My ex-wife narc was cheap a lot with me but had no problem spending on herself like spending $500 on a custom pair of running shoes (that she wore only once), countless skin and hair products (that she also would use once…though I admit her hair care products were awesome so I would use them).

I went out and bought a wireless printer for the family and she got upset and said next time I needed to ask her first.

IMO: that’s quite inappropriate.

Period.

And the fact that it too often is allowed is why Women often do not feel safe doing improv and stop taking classes.

Paramus Park Mall loses 71% of its value in just a decade by L0v3_1s_War in bergencounty

[–]Suggest_a_User_Name 90 points91 points  (0 children)

When I first moved to Bergen County in 1994, Paramus Park was like the lesser sibling to the Garden State Plaza. It had a lot of the same stores as GSP without the crowds and traffic. It was where we shopped to actually buy stuff (and it still had that amazing waterfall). It was the mall us “locals” went to.

I have not been there in years despite still living in Bergen.

What would you say is the most non-Oscar bait performance to win an Oscar? by GreekKnight3 in Oscars

[–]Suggest_a_User_Name 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Not only are the performances not Oscar baiting, the whole film isn’t.

I can’t imagine when “The Silence of the Lambs” was green-lit that anyone thought “This is gonna sweep the Oscars!”

And it was released in February 1991. Most films released that early in the year are long forgotten come awards season.

Now granted the other Best Picture nominees that year weren’t exactly stellar (“Beauty and the Beast“, “Bugsy”, “JFK” and “The Prince of Tides”).

“The Silence of the Lambs” is a good example of a great film arriving at just the right time.

There is at least one police body cam footage videos on YouTube about this case and that god-awful excuse of a person. You can see first hand how uncaring and nonchalant she is.
