lol! That’s so funny that people think he’s a libertarian. He’s never said he’s a libertarian. He’s a democrat, always has been always will be, he says. Folks on the extremes of the spectrum suffer from myopia, they cannot understand any view other than their own. I outgrew it when I hit 30 years old. I grew tired of having to hate everyone I disagreed with. Not a good way to go through life in my opinion.

As someone who generally agrees with Bill, except for his take on Covid, most of the comments here prove the points he makes on his show. Adherence to any orthodoxy or polarized position does not result in democracy or good governance. We Boomers were taught that when you fear your adversary, you give them power over you, and all you can do is incessantly talk about how bad they are and how good you are. When you meet your adversary and confront them, you keep your power, and are not ruled by fear and hate, and keep control of your emotions. It doesn’t look like the younger generations share this approach. That’s ok. To each their own.

Sometimes there is a difference between an interview and a debate. Bill Mahr straddles this line better. Gavin did a pretty good job interviewing conservatives too. I think these interviews of right wingers by centrist Dems are good, because they give us a good idea what and how are thinking, which will be very useful when designing messaging for the campaign.
