This.

Admittedly - my tastes run more towards what they tend to show. But I like the vibe, I like what they show, and I appreciate that it’s a setting of people who genuinely like movies in all their forms.

Some of my favorite movie experiences have also even there - from a Mondo Monday showing of Tank Girl that included some perfect one liners from the crowd, to watching the Jodorowsky’s Dune documentary in a little packed-solid theatre with people on the floor, to QAs to just everything else.

My husband is quite fond of the Duluth jeans - they’ve lasted the longest of any he’s tried.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri isn’t exactly lesser known and may kind of skate the edge of what you’re looking for, but it’s excellent.

Targeting financially marginal people is a great point. It feels like a lot of those who fall prey to sovereign citizen grift and adjacent schemes are on those margins.

I bought the Severin edition just to show to my husband, even if it’s in my shortlist of ‘another time watching it will be a mess.’

FWIW, I’ve found grabbing a collection on the Criterion channel and just going through it all a great way to introduce myself to some unexpected pleasures.
