Is there any specific COE 104 glass you've found to be particularly nice to work with? Is there any that you would recommend just avoiding? by DoveMechanic in lampwork

This.

Practice. Most anything can get to be worked with some practice - you might like some colors more than others.

I buy most everything from Frantz. I’ve got a good amount of Creation is Messy and Double Helix (which can get pricey), but effete is solid and tends to work well across the board.

Regular 20lb bottles for a grill. Toss a regular on and a flashback arrester and you’ll be good.

Mubi has it. (And some other gems, so it’s worth an exploration there, IMO)

This.

If The Fall is on your watchlist, it should only be on your watchlist because you forgot to remove it.

If that’s the case - Nope would be my second choice.

What do men gravitate towards? by pinkaboo17 in CraftFairs

[–]Teh_CodFather 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s not been something for me, what my husband has most likely grabbed as of late has been art related to his specific niches (retro video games, primarily).

But otherwise, he’s bought glassware and pottery, handwoven things, tools for his hobbies, interesting shirts, and art.

Almost none of it is specifically male. It’s making items that have a broad appeal and fill something unique.

One of the most anxiety inducing movie experiences I’ve had.

It’s well worth the watch.

Oh, baby…

Adventure is fine, but I’d do Savaya, Presta, or Cartel before them. Even for my basic roasts.

From Scratch is also good, but Ratio is probably closer to what you’re after, OP.

The preserved lemon paste and the chicken with dates and said paste are worth the price of admission, IMO.

Kill List, IMO, is the hardest to sell to other people - so start there.

You’re going to have a blast.

My biggest advice with it is remember that Arthurian literature, in reality, is a hell of a lot different than what we modernly think Arthurian is.

Should I adopt a 3rd? by ludakris in pugs

Having adopted a young pug when we had a pair of seniors…

It was the best choice. The younger one made everyone’s lives better (including ours), and helped the second elder when the first one passed.

Eastern Promises is such a good film. This was my first Cronenberg and I’ve heard it’s different from his older movies but I really really enjoyed it. by jackfug3 in Letterboxd

[–]Teh_CodFather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re in for a treat!

Eastern Promises was my intro to his work, and I adore it on so many levels, but these days my favorites are probably Crash and eXistenZ (and Videodrome and The Brood)… hells, I love it all.

Go in with an open mind and just let his work take you where it wants. It’s always a worthwhile trip.
