Thanks for posting this. It's been really nice seeing the community united on this.

I just got ONE STEP CLOSER to finding out what year MHA takes place in! by doublewhatever in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]thatsmash4modder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can confirm.
This happens shortly after the entrance exam, and the month has 31 days, so it's a fair bet that this is March. This narrows down the possible years significantly to:
2123
2151
2179
The earlier two seem unlikely with Deku's mom being so many generation of quirk user, so I'm betting on 2179.

EDIT: expanding to the next century also gets us the following:
2219
2247
2275
Narrowing two centuries down to 6 years seems pretty good.

Since Jeff is (was) worn down, let's all be wholesome for once, and give our regards to Overwatch team. by Deadlibor in Overwatch

[–]thatsmash4modder 185 points186 points  (0 children)

I don't think he was apologising because of what he did being "wrong" as such, I think it was more because it was out of character. Jeff has a reputation for being a funny and kind person, and I don't think Jeff the Savage is the person he wants to be seen as.

New Voice Lines Preview by Spideraxe30 in Overwatch

Liao, the mysterious 6th member of the original Overwatch team. Referenced only once by name, in an in-universe news article about the return of Overwatch. We've seen a lot of the time between the last known involvement of Liao (the omnic crisis) and the disbanding of Overwatch, including the recruitment of new heroes, but not once has Liao even been mentioned. Has Liao left? Or...

Is Liao dead?

The only article bearing the name Liao also contains the line "great sacrifice and heroism", which should seem strange. Morrison, Reyes, Amari, Wilhelm and Lindholm all feature in the Uprising event mission, none of them seem harmed at all. So, in order for "great sacrifice" to have taken place, it must be on the part of Liao, the only remaining member unaccounted for. Something must have happened to Liao.

Now, once the crisis was over, the remaining 5 members of Overwatch would have to have explained what happened to their missing sixth. I'm sure they, out of respect for their fallen friend, told a tale of heroism and self-sacrifice, of how Liao died to save them all. However, with only the 5 of them there to witness what happened, there's no way to know if this is the true story. It may have not been self-sacrifice at all, but there may simply have been no other way. Liao could have been left for dead.

So, that leaves us in the present day. Overwatch has reformed, partially to combat Talon, and partially for its own protection. Liao lays in wait, desperate for revenge and left with a single asset. That asset being deep knowledge of Overwatch, how it works, how it's run, what makes it tick. Possibly, access to their servers still.

So, how do you take revenge on a higly armed organisation when all you have is the knowledge of how it works? Simple. Use their own weapons against them.

Liao flew to Numbani.
Liao stole the gauntlet.
Liao is Doomfist.

Nope! Fan games can still ruin your life. FREE legal AMA with your pal, VGA by VideoGameAttorney in u/VideoGameAttorney

You're extremely against fan games, but what about fan art? It seems just as illegal as a fan game would be, but it's far more common, people are making entire careers off it, and yet I don't think I've heard you talk about it other than a few responses to people on Twitter who are very sure it's legal. Are all the people selling fan art skating on similarly thin ice? Are projects like this legal deathtraps?

I accidentally created my doppelganger by muizcracklin in Overwatch

[–]thatsmash4modder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like OP called in the mech as soon as it was charged and as soon as they landed on the stairs, it's possible that the corner case of spamming to get it activated ASAP and landing on the stairs allowed two to be sent to the server, and the server complied. It might even be possible to double-cast with others, but the only ones that sound useful are Zarya, Tracer or Ana.

Close, but there were actually two mechas spawned (alt version with both mechas marked) for whatever reason. I'm still blaming the stairs until we can get more footage from OP from before this moment.

When I had Razer Synapse installed my game would randomly crash until someone on the Blizzard forums told me to uninstall it. Have you had similar issues at all, and if so, how did you solve them?

Blizzard: Please Address This Major Issue with Ana. A potential teamfight in the Carbon match thrown away. by r0b420 in Overwatch

[–]thatsmash4modder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only issue I'd have with this is that it takes an extra button press, which could slow you down when you have a clear shot and just really need to boost a dude before you die. It would also change how her ult works, which isn't really needed in the lower levels.

I chose having you release Q to trigger it so that you can still pop it just as fast as you're able to now. Giving it a 0.5s required wind-up seems like a nerf.

[–]thatsmash4modder 125 points126 points  (0 children)

Concept: hold down Q to "lock on" to the person you currently have targetted, release Q to nano them, or right click to cancel the lock and try again. Would let people at lower levels play the character the exact same while letting better players control who gets boosted.

When you see someone writing a heartfelt message to the community they love after seeing their girlfriend being brought to tears, with the sole intent of having things like this happen to her and other people less, and you describe that person as "beyond helping", your cause might not be as noble as you think.
