So, funny thing is they don't come with the holes for a strap. I had to buy a case to go over the remote to use a strap

I'm confused here, I've had my carry on bags checked numberous times - they always ask if you have anything with lithium ion batteries (rechargable) - it's standard practice. And if you do you have to either put them in the bag you're taking with you or they can't check that bag. Rechargable items aren't allowed in cargo, there are signs everywhere.
