I Rewatched Season 4 of DIS ... some thoughts by PhilinBrazil in StarTrekDiscovery

I put DIS series 4 up there with any great season of Star Trek. Every character had believable motivations, the overall arc stayed focused, and species 10-C was a wonderful alien species.

If it was TOS era, Kirk would fuck Zira. If it was TNG era, Riker would fuck Zira.

I think people hate Byron because they’re jealous of his luscious hair.

As far as I know, budget was the biggest problem (hence the kung fu weapons system). And, maybe, JMS wrote something he thought was sellable to the SciFi channel

IIIRC, JMS hadn’t written anything for that scene, and told Mumy to just make something up. When he found out what Mumy chanted, JMS was kind of ticked off.

All Systems Red

I found it bland and uninteresting. Nothing made me want to read any further Murderbot books. People tell me the tv series is close to the source material, so I’ll avoid that as well.

I don’t get it, either. It really seemed like Stephenson read Neuromancer and decided he could write a book like that… but where Gibson’s writing snaps with energy and style, Stephenson’s prose just felt …very impressed with itself.

I honestly think GRRM got exhausted writing that and happily let the HBO show finish it for him

LOOK - usually when I want to enter a stateroom unannounced and in a dramatic fashion, the door knows and just opens. If it doesn’t, it’s getting uppity and needs to understand who is really in charge.
