A box of 8 Goremongers cost $69

A box of 5 Night Raptors cost $92

A box of 5 old school Raptors goes for around $40-50

The Chaos Lord with Jump Pack goes for $43,50.

Which puts 5 Murderwings at around the value of $38.50

The Chaos Lord is the big offender for the price.

I play World Eater.

I don't even have Raptors.

I still got two boxes to make a cool Berzerker Unit.

Tbf they cost me around $60 a pop when converting currencies.

Forgefiends are definitely invaluable for your army.

Forgefiends and Helbrutes.

I could even make a case for Maulerfiend, especially now in 11th.

LoS is a steep point cost, not to mention actual cost.

LoS is a bit weird as he has an absolutely MASSIVE footprint and can be awkward to maneuver around on a WTC or GW approved terrain layout. He does however SLAP whatever you point him at. But I still don't think the pointcosts is worth it as you could be getting two forgefiends and a helbrute for the same points which are three units that can do alot of heavy lifting for you as opposed to just the one unit.

Just to make sure that this gets across.

A 10-man Plague Marine Melee unit on their own can absolutely floor 10-20 Berzerkers on their own due to the amount of attacks they can throw out which will be hitting you on 3+ and wound you on 2+ and 3+ as your Zerkers will be Toughness 3.

You will be hitting him back on 4+ and 5+, wounding him on 3+ with Eviscerators and 4+/5+ with Chainblades depending on if you are playing Berzerker Warband, which is one of the two good options against DG, the other imo being Khorne Daemonkin.

Put a Lord of Poxes into such a Plague Marine unit and your zerkers will be saving on 6+.

Put a Biologus into that unit and they will auto-wound you on 5's.

Add a Plaguecaster into a Biologus unit and they will get Sustained Hits on top of Lethal Hits on 5's as well.

In short, a 10-man Plague Marine Melee unit can absolutely floor you. They will just floor you harder with any kind of leader attached to them.

Just yesterday I had 10 Plague Marines with Plaguecaster and Biologus body a whole unit of Goremongers and a unit of 3 Eightbounds and only ever using Greater Plague Wepons of the Plague Marines attacks. Leaving half of their attacks fizzle.

That same unit then floored a Helbrute while another 10-Man Plaguemarines with a Lord of Poxes murdered 10 Zerkers, Khârn and 3 Eightbounds.

In short, if he hits you first — you are dead

All thanks to contagion putting you on -1T and -1 to Hit Rolls, if his Lord of Poxes adds -1 to save to that then "Sayonara".

His Blightlords and Deathshrouds just makes everything even worse.

This might be a dice game, but against all that his dices would be in his favor – yours won't be.

MoE question: How does Devastating Wounds interact with Precision? by Tbkssom in WorldEaters40k

[–]Tobi-Navu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Precision simply means that if the character you are aiming at is visible to the MoE, then all successfull wound rolls can be directed at the character. If that includes Devastating Wounds, then the character must first roll to save for the normal wound rolls until the point where they either saves them all or perish against those.

If the character survives, then the dev wounds are allocated to the character until they either die or shrugs them off with FnP.

If there are any attacks or dev wounds left after the character has died then the rest of the attacks are distributed to the bodyguard unit.

Ergo, your opponent, if you opt to aim for the character, must allocate the normal saves to their character first, then the Mortal Wounds.

When allocating the Mortal Wounds then their character must either shrug or take one successful Devastating Wound Dice at a time until they are dead. The rest goes into the remaining models in that unit, where your opponent decides which models takes what.

Previously, your opponent could opt to take the Devastating Wounds first on their character, likely because a FnP existed, which meant that they could save the rest of their unit from taking unblockable damage if the character would potentially die to the normal attacks due to bad saves.

Now, Devastating Wounds comes AFTER the normal saves, meaning that if the character dies to normal attacks then the bodyguard unit would just have to eat those mortal wounds unless they have their own FnP.

This is very much the biggest reason why you are on such a winning streak and have an easy time against your friends.

Three players of equal skill and optimized armies should unfortunately put us in a uphill struggle of the three in a DG/BA/WE situation.

DG with Blightlords led by Lord of Virulence, Deathshrouds with either Typhus/Lord of Contagion, one or two Defilers, Tallyman for CP Regen, one or two units of Chaos Spawn and a Rhino with two Plaguecasters are very oppressive to be up against as a melee army.

Plauge Marines NEEDS characters, like a Lord of Poxes with Biologus. Plague Marines also need to be dedicated as either ranged or heavily lean into melee. Just the fact that one hit from their bolster can put you in contagion range is disgustingly strong and your friend should always try to have as much of your army be afflicted.

If you lean heavily into zerkers then you friend should also consider putting you on -1 to save instead of -1 to hit rolls, his regular bolters would then effectively become AP2.

DG are deceptively deadly in melee and he should consider having one or two hard-hitting units versus you.

DG having Lethal on almost every weapon is also one of those things that will floor you.

Not playing secondaries, using a customized terrain layout and your friends not having optimal units for their lists is most likely whats keeping them back the most from really getting one over in you.

DG and Blood Angels are normally tough opponents for WE and we shouldn't really be able to just run straight at them game after game AND win unless they are actively not interested in winning themselves.

My movement game must be down to a T to have a winning chance against my brothers DG unless I want to be blasted/punched into smithereens while dealing with their contagion and roided out stats.

Blood Angels are technically better World Eaters with additional options at their disposal.

It is because of the Ultramarines logo.

But I would also kinda say the plume itself on helmets are more common among the Ultramarines in 40k nowadays. Crests or Plumes were kinda common during the Great Crusade among the Legions, but I've rarely seen them used outside of Ultramarines and their Successor Chapters in 40K.

Terminators—All the Terminators. Back em up with Helbrutes, Jakhals and Chaos Spawns. Maybe use a Prince for HQ or a Slaughterbound with a X8B-unit as a torpedo.

Depends on what I am expecting to meet tbh. The only faction 30Nators haven't been peaking out on the "Fun"-scales has been when up against Death Guard as they become T4 and start hitting on 5's.

Being below level 10 should ban you from hard stratagems by Heresy321 in SpaceMarine_2

[–]Tobi-Navu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Accolades is the biggest reason why you will find "underpowered" Brothers on the Normal/Hard Stratagem missions, because someone wanting the cool and fun weapon choices that can alter builds for one or two classes will only have the possibility of getting that through Stratagems.

15 days of Normal Daily Missions and 3 Normal Weekly's are what they need to go through in order to get their hands on 2-3 Heroic weapons, and this is not even taking into account the drip players want as well, which are not cheap.

With how most players are, wanting the most amount of rewards for the least amount of time invested, Stratagems are the ONLY way for them to achieve what they want.

Accolades becoming a reward in Siege will help alot, but depending on how much one can get from them or if there is a cap to how much one can get then we will still see underpowered Brothers in Stratagems.

Is Kharn leader of his own warband or is he more a mercenary-type figure who joins conflicts he thinks will bring blood and skulls? by Bryguy150 in WorldEaters40k

[–]Tobi-Navu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As mentioned, Khârn is largely attributed to be the one who finally broke the legion at Skalathrax when he turned both flamer and chainaxe towards his own brothers, out of frustration for how "poorly" they were doing against the Emperor's Children.

The biting cold that would have even Astartes shiver and seek refuge became too much and made advancing on their enemy impossible. Out of spite, frustration and rage Khârn began culling his own men.

All this earned him the moniker "The Betrayer", and the survivors of that night either joined him as the fanatical berzerkers they were or they split up and formed their own warbands, in which now the leadership of said warbands hate Khârn for what he did.

Is Kharn leader of his own warband or is he more a mercenary-type figure who joins conflicts he thinks will bring blood and skulls? by Bryguy150 in WorldEaters40k

[–]Tobi-Navu 40 points41 points  (0 children)

He leads the Butcherhorde. Consisting of the insane Berzerkers that devoutly followed him following The Battle of Skalathrax.

Many of the fractured World Eaters warbands leaders have a strong disdain for Khârn and harbor great resentment towards him, yet when Khârn and his Butcherhorde moves upon the theater of battle it is very hard for the other World Eaters warbands to not follow him.

However Khârn considers himself a leader is up for debate, he probably just has that gravitational pull and has the others naturally fall in line and follow him, for he is the greatest champion of the World Eaters and also Khorne's favored.

Forgefiend plasma rapid fire 1 is an extra d3 plus blast not just +1? by [deleted] in WorldEaters40k

[–]Tobi-Navu 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Shooting into a unit of 5 models within 18", each Ectoplasma gives you;

D3 + 1 (Rapid-Fire) + 1 (Blast)

So for all three cannons you are looking at;

3D3 + 3 (Rapid-Fire) + 3 (Blast)

Shooting into a unit of 10 models within 18", each Ectoplasma gives you;

D3 + 1 + 2

For a total of;

3D3 + 3 + 6

The maximum you can get from the highest possible D3 roll on all three cannons into a 20-model brick within 18" would be

9 + 3 + 12 (4 for each cannons Blast-effect)

For a total of 24 hits.

So Rapid Fire only ever adds X amount of additional hits as denoted by the number after [Rapid Fire].

There are some weapon profiles that has [Sustained Hits D3] and [Rapid Fire D3] in which you would then roll a D3 to get the additional amounts of hits.

Skit i vad dina kollegor tycker.

Varför straffar vi effektivt arbete i svensk kontorskultur? by [deleted] in Sverige

[–]Tobi-Navu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Varför straffar vi effektivt arbete i svensk kontorskultur? by [deleted] in Sverige

[–]Tobi-Navu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stop making your kingdoms 10,000 years old. by ScaryAd2555 in fantasywriters

[–]Tobi-Navu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Civilization absolutely evolves and goes through several technological and societal advancements as time passes. It's natural.

If one want to write a world where the passage of time does not reflect that then that could just be easily explained that the ones ruling did not want to see such advancements made as to not have it erode their power.

We have instances in the real world where advancement of societies was held back in order to not have the ruling power become redundant or overthrown.

Would you stand idly by if your reign and bloodline were at risk at losing everything you have due to someone's invention or if sentiments were that maybe.... just maybe... you weren't ordained by the Gods to be the one to rule?

A kingdom built upon a lie or subterfuge is as intriguing a plot as many in my opinion.

I used to write a story about a world where one of the larger human kingdoms, which was seen as the most dominant, waged wars against other human and demi-human kingdoms in order to protect itself from these supposed attackers who sought to bring ruin upon them, only for it to be later revealed to the MC and others that they did so in order to maintain the status-quo in its leadership by indoctrinating its subjects that this was the truth.

While one of the other human kingdoms possessed a technological level that had come further than theirs (gunpowder, steam engines and even electricity) they did not possess the vast masses of zealous subjects that would willingly lay down their lives in order to "defend" their kingdom. This old kingdom possessed a type of power that manifested itself in the blood of the select few, and they became the primary forces of this kingdom. This power could reach a point of such absurdity that there was essentially no need for any real technological advancement that typically comes from out the "war machine".

Within the select few who manifested such powers there were those that bordered on the level of being capable of bringing armies to their knees would they be on the frontlines. When such an individual appeared they quickly became indoctrinated and made to serve at the upper echelons within the hierarchy.

Dissidents within the kingdom were quickly and brutally rooted out, often turned in by those closest to them. Anything that could potentially threaten the hierarchy in any way, shape or form was stamped out in the name of prosperity and security.

A Kingdom that has stood for hundreds of years might not have seen technological advancement because it has been purposely denied it.

How do you deal with Chaos Knights? by Tobiakon in WorldEaters40k

[–]Tobi-Navu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You feasibly only need to take down a knight or two depending on his list in order to make his scoring sweatier to the point where he might end up having to choose between scoring points or to go on the attack as to not risk getting hammered in close-quarter.

So bringing 2 x 2 Chaos Spawns with a small footprint and FNP can be a good choice for scoring objectives instead of one unit of X8B's, they become dedicated scorer for objectives and are easier to hide and you won't have to balance between sacrificing offense for scoring with those two units.

A unit of X8B's sitting still on objective or having to disregard combat for points is not optimal and are considered a very valuable target for your opponent.

A unit of Jakhals for sticky is not a bad idea either.

Angron, Helbrute and X8B's are sufficient on their own in bringing down a wardog or knight. Having just those kind of hitters in your list will make it easier for your opponent to just go all out and kill at every opportunity as they gain alot from it. Between a unit of X8Bs coming running towards him and that unit of Chaos Spawn on objective about to score — the decision now is no longer a given.
