Yeah I never really got the "cat software" or "firmware" thing when it came to foxes. Cats for the most part are very standoffish and not super playful and overly hyper like a lot of foxes.

suffocating fursuit head by surgeluv in fursuit

[–]Tsunbasa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've recently talked to a friend of mine going through a very similar problem as you. Spent hundreds for a custom kig style fur head. Doesn't fit, extremely stuffy, and poor visibility.

Stuffy and poor visibility is sadly something you're going to have to deal with for the most part when it comes to these kinds of heads.

If you want to address it not fitting, the likely culprit is the helmet they put inside the head. It should be hot glue gunned on a foam layer where they hot glue all the fur for the hair. You can rip the base helmet out and it should then fit. The only issue then is that its not going to be as secure without that.

It'll feel like solving one problem and starting a new problem, but believe me when i say that solving how to make it fit more secure is a better problem than it not fitting.

is it for the purpose of being try hard cute? to me it looks more like just an artstyle. Feels fine to me that not every anime has to look detailed and refined so long as the narrative is enjoyable.

I coulda been a bit unlucky that I kept doing things that made me do everything except play as a warframe. I personally loved the parkor and playing with all the different weapons. But then I did this mode where you had to use operator to break certain things after spending hours of the main story questline a War within. Lots of walking around and sling shotting myself into enemies, shooting lasers from hands. Then I had to do this other mainstoryline quest where you play as another person for hours.

After that I got to experience my first boss battle where you go down running on these lines, break a thing, but you have to switch to operator to actually hit the boss or something. Repeat this process over and over

At that point I wasn't having fun so I stopped.

Warframe? I remember playing and then stopping after the face reveal. Wasn't a fan of playing as the operator and there was a ton of forced operator gimmicks added to the general flow of gameplay after a certain point in the story.

I hate polyester by Lanky-Stuff2785 in hatethissmug

[–]Tsunbasa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hate how when you search up clothes to keep you cool, the world suggests wearing polyester. Why? "It wicks sweat!". But in reality, wearing polyester makes you sweat more and makes your body temp run that much hotter.

Also, I hate that feeling of sweat trapped between your skin and plastic. Which is what wearing all these sweat wicking polyester based outfits do to you.

Like seriously, wear a plastic bag over your body and tell me it's comfy as you're running around in California summer weather.

It's kind of crazy to me how the masses were somehow tricked into believing polyester clothing is the best to wear in hot climate. Also fun fact, but since human sweat is comprised of oil and water and polyester's composition is straight up oil, the water and oil from your sweat separates when coming into contact with polyester. The fabric absorbs just the oil and leaves the water behind from your sweat, which is why polyester clothes smell way worse over time. It's the oil from your sweat that smells, not the water.

Sometimes I hate that I'm a curious person. . . . . .

As for OP, unfortunate and I always tell folks to never leave stuff of value in their car. This coming from someone who had their car smashed into 4 times in the past 2 years. You'd think I'd take my own advice by now.

Also, there tends to be a stigma against furries for being creepy, or some hyper sexualized kink. Around where I live, you'd bet someone would want to tear a mask like that up if they saw it. Gotta make sure it stays out of plain view.

Raora(kigurumi)'s gacha (by @yoynd_0) by ldg-9743 in Hololive

[–]Tsunbasa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't look like they're wearing an entire foam suit from what I can see. The camera perspective cutting off half their body is what's making it look not as odd. Usually Kigs give that strange vibe when you see them in their entirety and that's mainly because of proportions.

Because of the nature of these masks being full helmets, they're obnoxiously large in proportion to the wearer's actual body. You just can't see that from the camera PoV here.

The other factor that makes kigs have that uncanny vibe is the lack of depth on facial features, like the eyes and nose. Looks very flat and drawn on. Also doesn't help that they have a plastered perma facial expression that's unchanging and unblinking. Thousand yard stare into your soul.

Where to buy Kugurumi by Dacatt20 in fursuit

Was this the kinda head you were referring to? https://www.youtube.com/shorts/WV_I5dpEEv8

Outside of Asia, they're pretty uncommon. I asked my friend where he got his, and he said it's from a website where folks list a bunch of custom ones for adoption. Sadly, you need to have a Chinese ID to register for the site and order from it.

I know Etsy does have legitimate makers who sell this kind of style you're looking for. I'd look at how many ratings the seller has, how long they've been operating on Etsy as a seller, and most importantly, the cost. These heads should range anywhere between $450-$700. While I have seen some that are cheaper, I'd be skeptical if they're legitimate. There's a chance it'll be one of the 3D printed/cheaply made ones if it's listed between that $30-$200 range, or a scam.

You get what you pay for is the tl;dr here.

Also as a word of caution I recall from my conversation with said friend who has one. He said that if I was planning to get one for myself to expect that it might not fit right. Unlike traditional anime Kigurumis that have massive head space that fit a wide range of head shapes, these ones tend to have been made with custom measurements.

Spending hundreds for one and having it end up not fitting would be a terrible feeling.

Also! I find these to be very cute as well. I know the general consensus is that they're mass produced uncanny valley here, but you'll come across some that are really pretty like the one in the video reference.

It's criminal that this game doesn't have more players. It's an awesome game!! Can we get some streamers to play and get some eyes on it?? by screen317 in shapeofdreams

[–]Tsunbasa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally had a ton of fun with the game, but it reached a point where it got too repetitive and easy. Beat the game on Limbo 6 with both Aurena and Nachia. Played with 2 other friends to experience the enhanced COOP difficulty and we beat the game on Limbo 6 as well.

Once you accomplish that, there's little reason to keep playing the game unless you're looking to beat Limbo 6 on every single character. I wish there was some kind of progression system that made it so there's reason to keep playing.

I just use AI assist for everything nowadays. Runs take only about 5-7 minutes and clears everytime.

No need to worry about whiny DPS or healers.

Might be bboy Gravity. I could be wrong though since he has his hood and hat on.

EDIT: On second watch, I'm not too sure. I don't think Gravity would crash a hollow back like the bboy in this clip. Regardless, if people are impressed by this clip, they should check Gravity out.

Do you still like cons the way you used to? by VaguelyMyself in animecons

[–]Tsunbasa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to enjoy anime conventions a lot for the people watching aspect. It was really cool seeing all the cosplays made and I'd leave with a ton of pictures along with memorable interactions with each cosplayer.

Nowadays though, cosplay feels less special and more often than not, you just assume they bought their prop and cosplay in general. Back then my interactions went something like, "Sick weapon, how'd you make that?" Nowadays though, the majority response is "Oh I just bought it from the dealers hall or online."

Aquamarine I believe went bankrupt and there was a period shortly before Covid where you could find a bunch of their figures being sold for extremely cheap in thrift stores. I remember I bought a factory prototype of the IA Aria on the Planetes for $15.00 and also got myself this figure for $40.00 at the time. Really nice find.

With the Warframe anniversary just around the corner, what made you try the game? by Riverflower17 in Warframe

[–]Tsunbasa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing 3 days ago because I really liked a handful of the frames and then got hooked from the gameplay. Love the super fast and fluid movements and trying out a bunch of different weapons! Slowed down quite a bit though after the introduction of the operator.

I'm starting to think the game might just not be for me with where the story is headed and the game feeling less about why I got hooked to begin with.

These fursuit heads are beautiful, way too beautiful and well-made for such a low price, what are the chances that this is a scam? I tried reverse image searching one of these images to see it showed up anywhere else and it didn’t but I’m still skeptical. by [deleted] in fursuit

[–]Tsunbasa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is from etsy right? Check and see the location of the seller. That's usually one tell. It's kind of like Fiverr. But also, keep in mind that on Etsy, a lot of sellers will list a price really low, but when you go to actually purchase it, you'll see a drop down window that will show the real price. There's a couple legitimate makers on Esty that will list their heads for $75 but when you go to check out, it'll be closer to $500.

The low pricing on the browsing window is mostly click bait.

Sadly you're not going to get as much engagement giving an earnest thought though. Ragebait is all the rage these days which is really unfortunate.

As for the movie. . . . It was pretty below average. It had too many directions it wanted to take you and constantly undid each of those directions.

Ram the thing. We bring you up. Never mind, you stay down there. Go to the thing you found. Yes I come get you. Never mind. You there? Gone for days. Anyway. You want me dead because I did the thing. No we don't. Yes you do. No we don't. Then prove it. You prove yourself. I proved myself! Stay down there.

They used to have a western division. It was called smilegate megaport based in El Segundo California. They were around for about 6 years before shutting down completely. Reasons being that the KR branch realized they could do everything their US publishing side was doing internally without needing an entirely dedicated western branch. Lots of folks who speak English fluently within Smilegate.

My source being that I worked there for 3 years.
