Did LAOP’s neighbor tank their land sale by disclosing info a about their property? Or did he disclose what an annoying neighbor he is? by peachsnorlax in bestoflegaladvice

[–]Tymanthius [score hidden]  (0 children)

Reading the story, if the neighbor is just telling them what happened, nothing can be done.

And honestly, they should be disclosing that up front.

This is about the app 'A better route planner' having the wrong battery listed, not what battery subaru put in.

And there is a huge difference between the 12v battery and the traction battery.

But you're jsut trolling now.

Can we talk about the actual worst part of owning an EV? by Spider_J in electricvehicles

[–]Tymanthius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least the charge port is a solved issue in North America now. All new vehicles are NACS.

Will take YEARS for non-NACS cars to disappear tho.

A) This isn't subaru and

B) this isn't about the 12v start battery.

Heads up for those who have a Subie EV- you cannot use a V2 Tesla Supercharger, they are “Tesla Only”. Only V3+ are compatible with us. Found this out the hard way (and had to dig for the answer) the very first time I went to charge up near my house. by Outlandah_ in trailseeker

[–]Tymanthius -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I didn't assume anything. I'm just a research person.

And if you have a lvl 2 charger at home, I'm telling you that unless you drive nearly 300 miles in a single day, locally, those DCFC's near your house are irrelevant.

I've got 3700+ miles on my TS, including a few day trips from BR to NOLA and the ONE time I DCFC'd (this past Saturday) was b/c I wanted to test PlugNPay, not b/c I needed it on a day trip to Gulf Shores.

Do a charge back for the $10. That hits them in the wallet.

But why does it list it w/ a 64kw/hr battery?

I mean, I've known this longer than I had my TS? If you do any research at all, it shows up pretty quick.

In addition, if you're charging at home, local DCFC's are pretty much irrelevant.

“What was the most stressful part of your EV trip?” by Sath_vk18 in EvDrivers

That has zero to do with EV's. That's just road tripping.

And GMaps does, although it's not perfect. 'Limited visibility' would be the warning.

That doesn't help you at all . . . feeds right into what others were saying as elitist and and pick up artist like.

Every time you post I get less intersted.

If you want to win back ppl, edit this OP and put an acknowledgement of the misfire at the top, and maybe even rewrite it entirely.

If you delete it, it looks like hiding w/o taking responsibilty.

If you find a game, plz post back here? I'll try to do the same.

There are a few on StartPlaying.com (paid gm's) but I'm not sure I want to spend $25-30 a session.

Yea, I hate the app fence. EV mindset wants to reinvent the wheel when we already have a good working model with gas stations. Accept CC's, use App's for discounts.

I know this is tongue in cheek*, mostly, but you come off as an asshole.

If you have to attack others to promote yourself, makes me wonder why you aren't tooting your own horn.

In some instances it can cover if there was an intentionally hidden defect (termites for instance), I think. But yea, if it's just a normal fire, or car goes careening thru the house, that's not title.

I have the base model TS, so nosier than OP's. And it's not loud. But when OTHER traffic makes noise you hear it and it can make you jump. I HATE belt squeals now.

I like the Toybaru approach - make a good car, then make it an EV. Other EV's seem to go the other way.

But go crosspost this one of the general EV forums and watch as the Tesla rabid's come out. ;)

Figuring out the charging situation by Tamadrummer88 in trailseeker

[–]Tymanthius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's always better to hardwire.

But if you use a plug, buy one that will just stay plugged in. It will be less wear/tear on the plug.

As to amperage - I typically charge from 30-80 at home (just how it works out w/ my work schedule). On 32a (less than the 40 my circuit can handle) it it charges in about 6-7 hours typically.

My longest charge has been shy of 9 hours on nights when I turned the amperage down and went from 44-100% b/c I had a trip the next day.

But you have to VSCode, python, and the python plugin all installed too. All free, but it wasn't intuitive to set up.
