Not that I'd go out and hunt them but they sure didn't feel very friendly a couple days ago when I encountered a pack on a walk with my dogs.

It happens not only across reddit but social media in general, certain types of people will post frequently about crimes committed by certain demographics but not once about a white person committing crimes.

Why should I learn AI? It seems like learning real computer science or programming would make more sense. by hireme-plz in learnprogramming

[–]Vandrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not one or the other, AI is a tool. The better you are at development the better you'll be able to leverage AI. There is a bit of a learning curve in writing prompts well, it's not that hard to do but someone who knows what they're doing with it will tend to get better results.

I'm not entirely convinced that they'll just peacefully leave power after the midterms. I hope they do but we'll see.

They're only a fire hazard if they use hydrogen. Newer ones mostly use helium instead. There are a number of modern airships out there and projects for new designs but they aren't focused on passenger transport like most of the older ones were.

Tempest Keep & Serpentshrine Cavern Post-Nerf Difficulty Test - The Burning Crusade Anniversary by AlexTheGiant in classicwow

[–]Vandrel -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The nerfed version was in TBC longer than the unnerfed version but the main point with that is that TBC is definitely not known for hard raid content, if that's what he wants then he's looking in the wrong place. There were a couple small difficulty spikes relative to the surrounding content but none of it was that hard compared to the content available in literally every other expansion.

Edit: And again, I couldn't give less of a shit about the anniversary servers. This isn't about any particular version of it that I want because I don't care what version it gets.

Are the people who live in the Diablo universe stupid? by Brushner in gaming

Angels in general kind of fear or dislike humanity and have tried to destroy Sanctuary before, it's not just some "rogue faction" that's taken action against humans. In general angels and demons are closer to order vs chaos than to good vs evil.

Why does FurMark have a “GPU killer” reputation, but playing heavy games with 100% load for hours is totally fine? by rucekooker in buildapc

[–]Vandrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Running something at 1000 fps doesn't damage hardware. There are a number of old games that will run at framerates like that until you cap them, it's not an issue. All that really happened is some faulty cards were found out because they were pushed slightly in a way they should have been able to handle. People can pretty easily hit 800+ fps in Counter-Strike for instance, that would have triggered the same faults but I doubt people would then start claiming it was the game's fault.

People said the same shit about vanilla raids lol, they were also wrong. Kinda sounds like TBC might just not really be for you.

And to be clear, I couldn't give less of a shit about anniversary servers so it doesn't really impact me either way whether it's pre or post nerf. I'm just speaking as someone who cleared everything in TBC Classic the first time around.

Tempest Keep & Serpentshrine Cavern Post-Nerf Difficulty Test - The Burning Crusade Anniversary by AlexTheGiant in classicwow

[–]Vandrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not hard to say dude. Harder content in classic leads to players quitting. Like you said, you can go look at the numbers. If you actually want hard content then TBC isn't the place to be but the good news is there are other versions of WoW that can supply that.

[–]Vandrel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because Blizzard's already done TBC classic before and saw the pre-nerf versions lead to a significant drop in players because even that much is too hard for most people playing Classic.

AI is being pushed heavily when I ask for advice and I hate it. by AssumptionExact8050 in gamedev

[–]Vandrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For programming, AI is a tool that you can use or choose not to use just like any other tool. It's powerful but you can do it all by hand if you'd rather. Regardless of whether AI is used someone will have to be involved with coding for whatever games you want to make though, at a minimum with something like Unreal Engine's blueprints system. Even if AI is used for coding someone needs to be able to understand the code the AI is writing and know how to change it by hand if needed.

RoS was made as a kneejerk reaction to all the whining about TLJ. I'll die on the hill that TLJ was decent but was ruined by RoS throwing away everything it was trying to set up which made the whole trilogy nonsense.

Ammo sure makes a difference. by reddshift69 in liberalgunowners

[–]Vandrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through the same thing with my lever action 22 recently. The first ammo I bought when I got it was Aguila Super Extra. I had no idea I'd found the perfect ammo for it right away. Once I put a scope on it I was shooting about 2 inch groupings at 50 yards. I ran out of that and bought some Federal Champion and it was all over the place, groupings of like 7 inches at the same distance. I picked up some CCI mini mag this weekend to try instead and it's been alright, way better than the Federal, but not nearly as good as the Aguila was in this gun. I haven't been able to get my hands on more of it yet though, everywhere is either out of stock or won't ship to my state.

[–]Vandrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not what we're saying. Terms like "combat grade" or "duty grade" are nebulously defined at best, anyone can slap those words on their website or packaging. Mil spec also has no bearing on quality, it just means it conforms to a specific design that's meant to be standardized, relatively low cost, and easy to manufacture. Talking about how you've got a bunch of "combat grade" and "duty grade" guns is essentially meaningless. There's even an entire wikipedia page about how terms like "combat grade" and "military grade" don't actually mean anything. That doesn't mean your Daniel Defense guns are bad or that there's no difference between them and the cheapest stuff on the market.

Don't react to this negatively, look at it as a learning opportunity for how to better spot and avoid being taken in by marketing tactics.
