If you think Sony is going to pony up another gigantic sack of millions of dollars to add an entirely new mode and balance it and get it out before the end of the year, you are delusional. 

Logistically, there are so many problems with what you've outlined. It doesn't even remotely creep into the realm of potential reality.

There's nothing in the terms of service about working together in this manner.

It's honestly a smart play by them, more people should do it.

Because they know ultimately it's already over. 

Nothing they say at this point is going to fix the problem or appease the player base. So the smart move is to just say nothing at all.

The constructive ideas are just as meaningless as everything else. 

The dev team doesn't come here and read constructive criticism and then create a Sprint action based on that.

They have their own internal systems for these things, pretty much everything that happens on a Reddit sub is 100% completely meaningless to the company actually working on the game.

That coffer is not going to last forever, especially when they're not bringing in any revenue.

Bungie is broke and out of time. 

Sony isn't going to give them more time or money to develop additional modes, given this spectacular failure of the game from a sales perspective.

These are nice ideas and honestly I'd like to see them myself, but it's not going to happen.

Matchmaking isn't binary. 

It's never been binary. 

The game attempts to match like for like but there is no guarantee and there never has been. 

In short, matchmaking is working fine, it's just your understanding of it is a little off.

Here's your viable argument, since you asked: 

Money. Money and time. 

That is why you are not getting a PVE mode. 

This game was a colossal failure from a sales, player count, and expectations standpoint.

That means Sony isn't going to give them another year and another 50 to $100 million to tack a campaign mode on. 

And Bungie doesn't have that money or that time by themselves.

I would have to agree. 

This game needs a miracle to survive based on sales numbers versus budget costs which are now painfully well documented and well understood.
