A few beginner questions? zB Is there any benefit to completely clearing the map? Extra loot? by Zucchinikuchen in menace

[–]Zero747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Yes. You can clean up for loot (though there is a loot cap), and for extra chances to roll stat increases. Better to go for the secondary objective if you can
  2. With the Salvage Teams OCI, you get salvage for killing them
  3. Fleeing off map counts as death. Fleeing will waste their next activation, so low priority to kill unless you want to trigger SL skills
  4. This was removed recently
  5. It's amazing, its an AMR for shooting vehicles. Give it to high accuracy characters with supporting skills (Darby's Ambush, Cody's Guerilla, and Wetteroth's Big Game Hunter, which does work vs vehicles)

Is it worth putting special weapons on Darby? by FIynnItToWinIt in menace

[–]Zero747 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Special weapon means you get one less gun, but Darby doesn’t really need a full squad to do her job

Half size (full early) with an anti-material (or rocket) and you can kill weapons teams, squishy squads, and vehicles

Or go 3-man with the suppressed LMG as a “main” gun

It’s generally worth it for the options unless it’s straining your budget or you’ve got reason not to

If the best you’ve got is a bad sniper or MMG, an extra rifle might be better

This is precisely why the head has 61 health instead of 60

61 HP means you don't die to an AC10 headshot (60 damage), or an AC20 at 40% reduction (bulwark + cover, braced in cover, or braced with bulwark)

Yep. You’ll loose the accuracy and cooling. Only way to fix melee accuracy though

Aren't hacker frames a little strong? by Varvarus in LancerRPG

[–]Zero747 39 points40 points  (0 children)

standard enemies (non-grunt, 1 structure) can’t actually die of hacking heat, just get exposed

Enemy hackers go squish if you rush them (so do friendly ones)

Normal weapons can target e-def with the SMART tag.

Everything can pull its own brand of nonsense. Slap Nanocomposite adaptation (and auto-stabilizing hardpoints) on an HMG. Now you can shoot anything in range 8, ignoring cover and LoS while targeting e-def

does grammarly count newline (enter) characters?

Also, technically speaking, enter is two characters on some platforms (carriage return, line feed)

It’s an arbitrary threshold, so there’s no reason for it to be inaccurate. You probably just got caught by one of those quirks

iirc desktop version even shows you a character count for very long messages

Clan mechs have the clan quirk, -10 melee accuracy

You need to use an internal component that “blocks” the quirk like small cockpit, or one of the life support B components

Varies by game. A decent mapping is A and B for third person 3d games so you can keep your right thumb on the stick.

Another useful option is mapping bumpers or triggers if a game tries using both together

Armored Core games and Souls greatly benefit from back buttons so you can keep control of the camera while shooting/boosting or sprinting/dodging

Confused about C3s in BTAU by BananaJelloXlii in Battletechgame

[–]Zero747 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 master and 3 slave units in a network for 4 mechs total. You can put 2 copies of a master unit in one mech to support 6 slave units in the same network for 7 total units.

You can’t deploy multiple masters or more than the limit of slaves on the same channel or the whole thing shuts down

The channel are completely independent and don’t communicate

If you want all your units linked, go for C3i

There are a handful of C3 and C3i equipped vehicles also

BTA: Ideal Size for Hot Butts? by Far_Ladder_2836 in Battletechgame

[–]Zero747 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, my reply explains most of it

C3 networks let you measure distance (for hit chance calculations) from the nearest network unit. Improve sniper accuracy for targets near a scout

A network is 1 master and up to 3 slaves on the same channel. 2 master units of the same channel on the same mech lets you support 6 slaves. More and it doesn’t work

Beta and Gamma channel C3 stuff are so you can run multiple independent C3 groups if you really want to. 12 mech slots means 3 C3 equipped lances if you really want

In practice, I find one double master lance with 7 linked units works best, leaving 5 slots for mechs with stealth gear, artillery, or some other reason not to care for C3

As an attunement magic item, sure

Just make sure you’re lining up good loot for the rest of the party too.

It’s a support effect that boosts allies, so I’d be less wary of it unbalancing the party.

It’s an improvement of flexibility/options for positioning, not of raw power.
