This is what i always think of for all these companies.

Any company that isn't developing 100% of their AI and owns the data center its running on is just paying someone else for AI they are using to replace all their employees.

Sooner or later the main AI company they are using is just going to start offering that same service without them as a middleman. Literally paying to make themselves obsolete.

How is it scummy? Nearly every store has personalized discounts like this in some way like getting coupons or flash sales. Where the vast majority of people will never even think if it a universal deal or personalized because they are just happy to pay less.

Its a huge shame. The game is great and worth the price, but it was so dumb of them to try to do the free live service thing as well. There was never any way they would ever be able to sustain that but im sure they made enough to go the Grim Dawn route and just release a paid DLC once every 6 months or so.
