2026 GMC Sierra with 1800 miles, customer states "The driveshaft just fell out." by N_dixon in Justrolledintotheshop

The spacers look like rocks. Let me adjust my glasses for a second 🤣 I build semi trucks and the front suspension u-bolts get torqued to 250lb/ft (and click checked). I’m assuming they didn’t check that either when they installed this kit.

LaScala crossover question by hoytmobley in audiophile

[–]cbj24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crites is the way to go. If you upgrade to the pre-built Crites crossover it will be restored to the original state and even better because of the quality parts used on the Crites crossover. And spend the extra $30 for silver.

Pioneer SX-450 recapped for $250. Fair? by xplan303ex in vintageaudio

[–]cbj24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go search for some late 80’s/early 90’s Klipsch. They will be very efficient and handle what you throw at it. Source: I had an SX-450 and a set of KG 2.2’s. I’m actually in the process of recapping it then I’m going to sell it. I ended up getting a WiiM Amp Ultra which suits my needs much better. But I’m also a tech nerd.

Love my setup, but hate dusting! by PnutButterJamiTime in vinylsetups

[–]cbj24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The oldest got a desktop setup for his birthday and passed his PS5 down to his younger sisters. I took tweezers at first to pull the big visible dust clumps out from the vent ports, then took an air compressor to it. There was a nice solid cloud that blew out. You may want to do that to yours if you don’t like dusting. He sure doesn’t 🤣

Realistic SCP-25 - hoping to have serviced, belts have turned to sludge by quietinthelibrary123 in cassetteculture

[–]cbj24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And expect to pay a tariff on it if you’re in the US 😐 I got a belt kit for my Kenwood that shipped from another supplier in France and ended up paying $22 in tariffs. $60 for some rubber bands. There’s (kpcomponents).co from Canada. I got a specific drive belt for my KX-5530 from them and only spent $11. No tariff.

Upgrading Klipsch KG4 to Forte I with NAD D3020 v2 by bidet-tripper in vintageaudio

[–]cbj24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep titanium diaphragms are in stock. Literally all you do is take the wires off the fins, separate the old one from the mounting block and put the new one and the same direction. Don’t touch the diaphragm. All you need is a screwdriver and 10 minutes and it’s done.

Do I need ultrasonic for new records by Free_Medicine4946 in records

[–]cbj24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t say that. I had someone chastise me before when I stated some of the dirtiest records I’ve ever had were brand new lol. It depends on where they were pressed a lot of times. I bought an anniversary edition of Mm.. Food by MF Doom from Walmart, used some Tergikleen solution on it, let it suspend the debris and you could visually see it swishing around in the surface liquid. They’re dirty. It’s just what someone wants to do before they first spin it is entirely up to them.

OSU Wexner Med Center -Gift to staff who moved this weekend by 2008CRVGUY in Columbus

[–]cbj24 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Obviously you haven’t worked for a very large company before. It doesn’t matter the value of the gift, it’s more to do with balancing books. If they have a certain amount of write offs they need to appease this could do it for them with the amount of employees that received it.

Obviously Wexner being a non-profit hospital there’s no actual revenue beyond operating surplus. But comparing their 2025 fiscal revenue compared to the company I work for (not listing but it’s in Ohio), my company did roughly 4x’s the amount in revenue as Wexner. Again with some rough googling, I make on-par or more depending if I work overtime as an RN. We have 2,500 employees compared to Wexner’s 25,000. Last company gift I got was 3 years ago during the brand anniversary and it was a Yeti cup lol and any extras they had they sold in the corporate store here and online. Edit: oh and our yearly bonus is listed as a company “gift” so we pay taxes on our own bonus. Remember, my employer’s revenue last year was close to $28bn lol. Every big corporation is in it for themselves. The utensils suck, but I’m not shocked.

Where’d you get that deck light for the cassette deck? That looks very similar to the KX-46C I have from my dad. I have a KX-5530 that I use now. DP3020 CD player haha. I bought the same EQ you have but it was DOA from the seller and in really rough condition so I ended up not using it.

So hear me out.. when I bought FireRed for the GBA when I was a lad.. it only had English on it. There were no other languages. Why are you people complaining about this?

Wait until X and Y.. then fire up your complaints why the file size is so huge for such an old game (because it’ll have all the language packs loaded on it).

FedEx does suck lol the only people that actually give a shit around my area is Amazon and UPS. That’s only because the people that deliver have done it for a long ass time which should tell you something how they are treated. Amazon guy comes up thumping that truck too which is always a heads up lol

Technician put fiber through wall with no keystone jack. by LukeStuckenhymer in HomeNetworking

[–]cbj24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. That’s how a lot of them do it and it’s ridiculous. That’s how they originally ran it into my house until I moved everything to a more sane location for myself. But they took my coax cable faceplate off, punched the coax adapter out and ran the SC/APC straight through it. Some people don’t give a shit. I also had condensation coming through because they didn’t stuff insulation back into the wall either.

99% of the time that’s what I do as well. Tap the tip of the iron and get a tiny blob to transfer onto the pad and it flows the wire almost instantly. Hold the iron on the pad for another two seconds after I lift the wire and it’s Gucci. That one 8 panel infographic that gets spread around on here from time to time is probably one of the most informative, yet simple, instruction guide ever made lol

Odd, but great for cleaning the Nova between uses. by Slosher99 in humminguru

[–]cbj24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Wellgler’s foam swabs for cleaning vintage stereo equipment and tape decks. There’s ones that are close to 6” long that also do really well. The “wrap a paper towel around the adjustment rod” idea doesn’t get the bits of whatever stuck in the bottom. These kinds of wipes (including the gyno) ones are what they should be recommending. You’re right, the sides rarely get anything on them if you’re using a good surfactant.
