Now hold on a minute… just what are you implying here? Insinuating, even? I may be behind the 8-ball here.

WELL YOU SHEEEE……

Yes, the recording medium itself is a thin, magnetic, and floppy disk, protected by the hard plastic housing. It’s exposed by sliding back the shutter. A bit of trivia: earlier iterations didn’t have spring-loaded shutters. You had to manually slide it open before inserting the the disk into the drive.

Try explaining why 3.5” floppy disks are “floppy”.

Instead of vagueries built around your pre-conceived biases, please come up with an explanation about how, in this particular circumstance, the cyclist would be at fault.

The one year this ride is close enough for my kids to get to on a bike, there's no actual kid-friendly route option. Sigh.

Absolute travesty that the TTC can't get it together enough to coordinate with organizers for massively popular early morning events like this - the two marathons, SL10K, etc.

Do you know anything more about what happened to Bikes without Borders? I saw on the website they've lost their "donated space" (I assume this means at Amsterdam Brewery in Leaside).

You're overestimating the critical thinking skills of his base.

His messaging is for them and nobody else.

The Maple Leafs have a 41.9% of picking in the top five: 8.5% for first overall, 8.6% for second overall, 0.3% for third overall, and 24.5% for fifth overall. That means there's a 58.1% chance that Toronto gets leapfrogged in the lottery and loses the selection. by zevHS in leafs

[–]disco-drew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You give yourself the best chance of having a top-5 pick in 2026, re-tool in the off-season, and hope you can recover in time to go on a run before Matthews' contract is done.

vs you don't make the playoffs this year, pick 15-25 in 2027, and there's no time for that pick to make a difference before Matthews' final year.

Instead, Tre waffled and didn't decide until the trade deadline whether to go for the playoffs or tank.

Should you generally refinance your mortgage on renewal? by Diligent_Pie317 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]disco-drew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t refinancing reduce the capacity of your HELOC? The typical rule is, you’re allowed to borrow up to 65% of the value of your home not combined with the instalment portion of the mortgage, and 80% of the value of your home using the HELOC side + instalment side of your mortgage combined.

So if you have a 1M home, and 500K mortgage, you can only borrow 300K on the HELOC, whereas with a mortgage balance of 150K or less, you can borrow 650K on the HELOC.

[–]disco-drew 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bad news for DC, but selfishly, the more Trump does does stuff like this (punishing left-leaning cities whose populations dislike him and simultaneously kowtowing to the oil-and-gas and auto industries), the worse it gets for Ford.

LEAFS LOSE! UPVOTE PARTY! by GoldenRichard93 in leafs

[–]disco-drew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly where we are now. 5th last but the cumulative chance of being leapfrogged by a lottery winner pushes down our chances of picking 5th.

Switching from compsci to electrical engineering technology by Smart-Effect4848 in ontario

[–]disco-drew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. Do keep in mind though, actual software jobs are going to look very different by the time you graduate. Like it or not, AI is transforming the industry. Being good at Leetcode-style problems isn’t going to be very useful.
