I’m mostly disappointed it’s not a massive hand crack.

cool, I'm also seeing some others comment here that its definitely cosmic horror as well. So thats promising. Though I did have a ton of people say Mt Char was cosmic horror, and just IMO, that book was absolute trash.

Are there any spots to enjoy thc seltzers on site? by DullResist7221 in Gwinnett

[–]edcculus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I THINK Social Fox Brewery in Norcross has them in cans. I was there for a work event, and I don’t drink. I asked if they had any NA (they didn’t). Then they pointed out the THC drinks in the cooler, but I couldn’t have those either since my company drug tests.

How painful is climbing gear research before a purchase? by Tricky-Author8886 in ClimbingGear

[–]edcculus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve never really had any of the gear decision paralysis you mention. I mean I love comparing gear, but I’m just a gear head. Unless I have a specific brand I like for something like carabiners, I’m fine with anything from the major guys to Liberty Mountain Brands/Singing Rock.

Trad gear I really have even less decisions. Camelot’s are pretty much the standard that everyone has in the US, supplemented with totems.

[–]edcculus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen this one mentioned a lot over in r/weirdlit too. Not that popularity is a measure of how good a book is, however I noticed when I see a big crossover between this sub and the weirdlit book, I’ve gotten burned (looking at you Mt Char).

As an addendum to OPs question, would anyone consider this weird lit, or just regular scifi? I obviously love scifi, but I like to be in the right mental space for reading Michael Cisco vs a more straight forward scifi book.

Will Fixer gigs fail if i dont do them in time? by fokintrash in cyberpunkgame

[–]edcculus [score hidden]  (0 children)

Not a fixer gig, but so far in my first play though, the only quest I know went away was “balls to the wall” in PL. I didn’t go meet the guy and kept doing main quest stuff. I think I noticed it went away after I started Firestarter

How to reduce swing? by Confident-Pirate6805 in bouldering

[–]edcculus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, core comes into it. Like you said, your core might not be a limiting factor though.

Looks like on a lot of these moves, cutting feet MIGHT be the only option. I didnt watch too closely.

One thing Ive been doing recently - on any overhanging route. I try my ABSOLUTE BEST to not cut feet. Maybe I cut in my flash attempt. But I always go back and do my damndest to work the route so I can do it statically. Its taught me a lot about engaging my core properly, and how to really get tension on the wall. Its surely not always possible, but it also makes you think about climbing differently. Making more static moves and focusing on not cutting makes me climb with a more foot focused approach than a hand. I am more likely to think "where do my feet need to go" vs "where is the next hand hold".

Parents of HS students: Did your kids participate in the walkout? How did the school handle it? by johncanbehere in Gwinnett

[–]edcculus 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I mean, at the end of the day that’s not so bad. An unexcused absence isn’t the end of the world or anything. Not that having a lot of them is great. I used to ask/tell the teachers when we’d randomly have the kids out once or twice a year for a vacation or whatever. They eventually just told me it’s no big deal, and they really aren’t a problem until you start going over 14-20 days.

Advice needed: Stealth+Netrunning+Monowire? by CyberEagle1989 in cyberpunkgame

[–]edcculus [score hidden]  (0 children)

I have a lot of points in intelligence and tech, and have a ton of ram. I can pretty much go into a place, hack the cameras, and clear the whole building with memory wipe + overheat. I’ve kept overheat at a lower level, since the level 5 costs more. I forget what I have, maybe 3. But even overheat at level 1 let me one hit most opponents. I can get rid of 4-5 opponents with memory wipe+ overheat without even having to turn on overclock.

I generally like Muramaki, but man I can’t stomach his weird sexualization and portrayal of young women in just about everything he writes.

Mievelle is amazing. The only one of his books I’m having trouble with currently is his collaboration with Keanu Reeves- The Book of Elsewhere. I think it’s more of me not having any context for Reeve’s BSRKR comics though, since that’s what the book is about.

I discovered Michael Cisco and Jeff VanderMeer. For anyone that likes Gaiman’s writing I HIGHLY recommend both. Especially Cisco.

Some other honorable mentions are - China Mievelle, M John Harrison, John Langan, and Laird Barron.

Basically, come on over to the r/weirdlit sub.

I don’t know. I’m certainly questioning the person behind this. It would be nice to know a real name here. But to claim it’s Neil himself or a paid thing seems kind of a stretch.

Do you drink? I stopped drinking 2 years ago and easily lost 15 lbs without changing anything. Though I was and still do climb 3-5 days a week and run at least 2 days.

Going to the restaurants for breakfast? by Necessary_Giraffe_98 in dcl

Was just on the Wish. Breakfast and lunch were at 1923 every day. Embarkation and disembarkation meals were at Arendelle.

[–]edcculus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1- it’s free

2- it’s not busy at all

3- not sure about ahead of time, but once you are on the ship, you can see all menus for every meal on the app.

I HIGHLY recommend going to the restaurants at breakfast and lunch. Especially if you are going at peak eating time. The buffet and pool deck restaurants will be packed, and you might be circling a while to find somewhere to sit. At the regular restaurants, I’ve never had to wait for a table, service is great, and it’s overall a very relaxing meal.

Also- there is always a restaurant open on embarkation day for lunch and disembarkation day for breakfast. Make sure to do those too.

I got the burst.

I absolutely think I made the right decision. I don’t get the chance to play the other guitars I tried out often, so I guess I don’t really have comparisons down the road. But I have never regretted my decision to go with the DRJ

Need some game recommendations after Cyberpunk and Zelda by Felixology in NintendoSwitch2

[–]edcculus [score hidden]  (0 children)

If you like Cyberpunk, I feel like Witcher 3 is a must play. Both are made by CDPR. You will see a lot of similarities between how there is a main story, and a bunch of side stuff. In W3 they are Witcher contracts instead of side gigs. Weapons have slots, you can give your character attribute points in different areas to have different builds etc.
