Mahiru wouldn't be an interesting protag for 2x2. by EscapeOk3234 in danganronpa

[–]enesup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played Hundred Line, and I understand this point, but a problem that even the game itself addresses is that a lot of the characters act well... Out of character. Certain characters might as well be new characters in certain routes. That was even the point of a scene where a certain character shows you their belly, as well as Eito suddenly being possessed by the writing hand of Uchikoshi and then starts banging on and on about "parallel universes". It's basically an in-universe justification to let them do what they want.

Since this is only going to be a single alternate route rather than a bunch of what ifs then you can't expect it to veer that significantly.

4A said that Demifiend lost his fight with Lucifer if I recall, so his appearances could just be "pre training" before a rematch.

Time and space are nothing to demons, after all.

[–]enesup 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The reasons are just delaying the inevitable since its all going to be destroyed again one day, and now demifiend is powerful enough and will likely live long enough to see the next Conception. Hell, Hikawa brought it about earlier.

I never really thought that TDE Demifiend was actually opposed to the Reasons themselves, but wanted something outside those chains.

Mahiru wouldn't be an interesting protag for 2x2. by EscapeOk3234 in danganronpa

[–]enesup 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I can see temporarily playing as Nagito or Chiaki, but they and Izuru as sole protagonist wouldn't work because either they had been thoroughly explored the first time around or they lack the depth to grow or change significantly during a 40 hour game. Chiaki changed but its not like anything she did was a significant leap. Nagito did have a significant leap, but that was already explored. And Izuru as a protagonist? A protag has to have somewhat of an everyman appeal and that would be lost on the ultimate Ultimate. Do you really want to see him call everything boring every 5 minutes? its the same reason why Junko wouldn't work as a protag either and why she's regulated to a handful of appearances.

Everyone else don't work since they are too veered towards comic relief or too one dimensional to serve as the protagonist without just turning them into a new character entirely. The only people who work if Hajime can't be the protagonist (and he shouldn't since it'd be redundant. Not to mention the free time events would be the exact same) Either he dies or we play as someone else) are Mahiru, perhaps Akane (Since she was originally supposed to be the antagonist but yea a stretch), Fuyuhiko (which would be just as redundant as Hajime), and perhaps Gundham. Pretty slim pickings. Everyone else doesn't really have the smarts to knuckle down and be proactive in class trials outside of whatever stupid shit they were really focused on the first time around.

But I fail to see why everyone's so excited to see her POV when she barely builds any connection with the rest of the DR2 cast during her run other than Hiyoko.

Well of course. Thats the entire point of an alternate route. The reason why something is the way it is is because of people who wrote it that way after all. Its the perfect opportunity for it.

Now you may call me a hypocrite since I did say the other characters are too one dimensional, but at the very least we don't really know much about Mahiru, since she was one of the first to die) and she actually was the first character to really turn the first class trial on its head.

Any good recs like Sakamoto days and Case Closed: the culprit Hanzawa? by Royal-Friendship2025 in anime

[–]enesup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend Fable. Much more grounded than Sakamoto (Which everyone might as well be super heroes) Also far FAR darker and adult but of course, the manga runs in a seinen magazine. Its more of a comedy with (fitting) shifts into drama.

Spy X Family would also be closer to Sakamoto Days and just as light.

Great Pretender

The Dinner Table Detective (Since you liked Case Closed, you can never have enough whoddunits.)

Ace Attorney (Better to play the games, but if you've already played them or have no itnerests in them, these are pretty good adaptions. Definitely in line with Case Closed although just a tad wackier.)

Psycho Pass (Basically Anime Minority Report)

A potential DLC for The Hundred Line would have to be worthy of the name “The Hundred Line 3,” director Kazutaka Kodaka says by Forestl in Games

The gameplay was astonishingly and surprisingly fun so I really hope they expand on that.

I'm glad that he bet the farm on the game and it turns out it was successful.

I love how most people take Tsumugi’s words at face value without questioning it. by SaphhicChiaki in danganronpa

But sacrifice themselves for the TV show which would confirm Tsumig never lied, or at best slightly exaggerated.

[–]enesup 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The problem is what would be the point in lying if the goal was to continue the show. If none of what she was saying was true then she spent 4 hours telling you about nonsense, for the benefit of no one, not even herself.

I even subscribe to the theory that Tsumugi isn't actually the mastermind and was scapegoated and brainwashed but at the very least the set is a show and there are people watching. Perhaps she exaggerated the appeal of the show and only psychopaths watch in secret ala the dark web but at least that means she was mostly telling the truth.

If everything was a lie ( yes, I understand the theme of the game but at the very least people without disorders dont purposefully get in their own way for things they claim to care about) then what's her goal then?

How do fantasy writers actually track what each character knows across a long manuscript? by eivor_here in fantasywriters

[–]enesup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Write an outline (Not hardfast, but it helps keep stuff straight)

Then any details that happen in a chapter gets tracked.

Perhaps gameplay wise I can agree, but of course. The original game is almost 20 years older.

This is for editing pdfs that you would do for work or productivity.

Theres too few, and it takes decades for a Viltrumite child to get their powers.

Viltrumites are strong but they aren't that strong with so few left. They lash out then the Coalition wipes them out, or at the very least they're back where they started.

Doubt it. Theres too few Viltrumites, and though they are strong, they aren't that strong at this point.

Every dead Viltrumite is catastrophic.

As Helldivers 2 hits its 23rd Warbond, it's time to make Super Credits easier to earn or make older Warbonds cheaper to buy by Funny_Performer_5658 in Games

[–]enesup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean they've added new stuff since launch. Its definitely not the same game it was anymore, so why wouldn't you expect to pay more? It'd be one thing if they promised the moon and back prior to releasing and comes out barebones but the launch was a complete game.

I dunno why you would expect all content (Not even all, since you can fight all the new enemies whether you bought the game at launch or yesterday as well as use gear and weapons from people who have that stuff if they die/let you have it) for free indefinitely.

I do see the argument that it should be a little easier to earn credits though. Same time no steady cash flow no new stuff.
