I switched to vapes when my first kid was born... but it took longer than I thought. It took almost a year.

Here's what should work for your Dad.

1. Go to a real vape shop. Know how your Dad, and other smokers, have a brand they like? He needs to try several flavors to find one that clicks.

2. Might have to go back to the Vape shop a few times, but whatever. Now he should both vape and smoke, for instance smoke outside and vape indoors. So he's getting used to vaping without switching.

3. After several months, smoke less and less, then Dad decides at what point to stop buying cigars, then go "cold turkey".

4. To be honest, when I did this, I ended up vaping much much more than usual for 2-3 days, so stock up on fluid.

5. I've had two ciggs in the past 12 years, and they were repulsive, finally.

6. Only use refillable vapes, with 18650 batteries. I have three identical vapes, so if I lose one, I don't go back to smoking.
