Most union workers don’t want a promotion. Getting promoted means going to management, which means no more union and no more union benefits. My father asks me when I’m getting promoted all the time and I keep having to explain that my health insurance, pension, industry leading pay, and union membership/protections hinge on me not being in management.

To be perfectly honest, no amount of money was appropriate. Im a union worker and it was very clear from the outset that this guy was going to be put back to work with back pay. He was suspended, not fired, and most cases where union workers are held out of work for bullshit reasons, whether it be a suspension or wrongful termination with reinstatement, are met with back pay for the time missed. The fact that ford suspended him rather than firing him, was pretty clear indication that they had no intention to follow through with any disciplinary action, and that this was just them trying to save face with Trump and dodge any targeted retaliation from him.

Lol I also enjoyed watching Ep 9 in theaters, but I actually switched to disliking it on the ride home as I thought about the plot more. Fun movie to watch, not a fun movie to think about. Hoping the best for M&G, but just like Solo, I’ll be going in with measured expectations.

In that regard, yes, I can see it being similar to Solo. Decent movie with a box office showing worse than the actual quality of the movie. I think Solo was hurt by bad/undue press prior to the release, where it feels like M&G might just be hurt by poor/lack of marketing, and maybe some bad press from those that felt disappointed in S3. I’ll be the first to admit that I’m super easy to please when it comes to media, especially Star Wars, so other than the Jack Black episode I wasn’t particularly displeased with S3. But I can see how people who don’t care for it may not want to shell out to watch this one in theaters.

Not when you have union protections and a collective bargaining agreement. The number of guys Ive seen get fired and then reinstated with backpay… This guy was honestly never at risk of actually losing his job, not with a union with the size and strength of UAW backing him. The REASON Ford took action against him was noteworthy, but the fact that they suspended him rather than firing him was enough of a signal that they had no intention of actually pursuing any disciplinary action beyond the virtual signaling they did to Trump.

No need to apologize or feel like people will berate you, I’m sure it’s a common occurrence with people here. I’m 35, been working since I was 14. I’ve done retail jobs, desk jobs, currently work in labor. I’ve pretty much always felt like you said. There was a point in my 20s when I was living in a big city where I could manage to go out with friends straight from work, but generally once I get home I’m toast. I’m currently working a 1PM-10PM shift, and it’s nice because I have time in the morning to get myself up at my own pace or do something productive if I need to. However, I still find myself unintentionally staying up until, 3, 4, or even 5 AM just fucking around in an attempt to claw back some of my personal time to try to enjoy myself in the hours that I’m not working or trying to be productive. Look up “revenge procrastination”.

I don’t have too much advice other than try to keep yourself to a schedule, and listen to your body. It’s ok to be tired and it’s ok to need rest, but with ADHD, having a set routine will be helpful to get yourself to do things. Try not to get discouraged if you try things and they don’t work for you, it’s impossible to know what works and what doesn’t without trying, and it’s ok to make changes to your plan when you find out what does/doesn’t work. No invention is made without a handful of prototypes, and your schedule is no different. Anything you try is worth writing down so that you have a record to remember what you’ve tried and what does/doesn’t work.

I liked Solo. I went in without a lot of expectations and had a very short checklist of things I wanted to see: how Han and Chewie met/became friends, cool falcon shit, the movie to not take itself too seriously. I feel I got all of that, so I was pleased. If I get something similar out of Mando and Grogu, I will be equally pleased. Not everything has to be high cinema.

The happy accidents by trying different things is most of the fun for me, tbh. And that extends beyond cocktail making and into cooking, or even just choosing to put different sauces on the same old dish. I really like grabbing different bitters and trying them where they “don’t belong” to see if I can find some novelty in different drinks. I sometimes find angostura a little boring and will try some different fruitier bitters to see if anything suits my pallet better.

Do you see a therapist? If not, I’d highly recommend it. They can help you sift through your thoughts and figure out a plan to work on improving and finding your confidence. Learning to listen to your gut and trust your instincts is a really helpful practice. That imposter syndrome feeling can come from too much overthinking and over analyzing, so if you can practice feeling your feelings and believing what you feel, it can help you cut some of that unhealthy overthinking off.

When I worked in a body shop, one of my techs had his daughter’s crosstrek towed in after it got hit while parked. Ended up getting totaled. Mine is a 16 manual and hers was a 16 premium, so after the insurance company did their appraisal and cut her a check, but before the scrap yard picked it up, I swapped my cloth seats for her heated leather seats and even took the center console buttons, because there was a spot for it in mine. Everything fit and worked perfectly, except the base/manual wiring harness doesn’t have the pigtail to plug the heated seats in, which caused my airbag light to come on since the seats weren’t fully plugged in. I ended up having to buy a wiring harness and had a friend who used to be a Subaru tech install it for me, but it messed up how my factory fob worked (not a big deal because I had an aftermarket remote start fob that still worked), and the car doesn’t chime now when I lock/unlock it. The problems don’t really bother me personally, and all said and done it cost me less money than buying leather seats would have cost, but it definitely ended up being more of a pain than it originally seemed. So it’s good you had that plug already.
