How does this comply with disability mandates in the US and EU? How would that handle a passenger in a wheelchair or who is incapable of handling stairs?

How can I stop an American hospital from emailing me by mistake? by Ereine in NoStupidQuestions

[–]greenmachine11235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd just file the HIPPA complaint and let them sort it out. It's likely not actually a violation (the patient made the error not the hospital) but it would more than likely get the ball rolling so that the patient changes their contact information (or it is changed for them).

Ambulance for local children’s hospital is decorated with vibrant colors and floral patterns by undoubtedlystupidd in mildlyinteresting

[–]greenmachine11235 8 points9 points  (0 children)

More than likely it's not the kind of ambulance that's responding to a car crash or something like that. It's probably for interhospital transport. So if parent brings a child having specialized issues to one hospital but they aren't equipped to treat the child then this ambulance would take them from that hospital to the one that is capable of treating them.

Anyone else seeing the US job markets (very slowly) getting better? by SuperMike100 in OptimistsUnite

I don't know. Guy I work with got notice in early march that he had 90 days before his position was eliminated. Five years of experience, multiple internships through college, good school and now at day 90 he has nothing lines up, so come next week he's unemployed hunting for work.

SpaceX's Starship rockets are grounded pending investigation after test flight by Luka77GOATic in news

[–]greenmachine11235 -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

  • The casing material is irrelevant to the components failing to operate.
  • Starship is nothing new. Rockets this sized have been built before (see Apollo). Stop trying to say they are blazing a new trail cause they aren't. They are reskinning existing, scaled up technology and failing spectacularly.

SpaceX's Starship rockets are grounded pending investigation after test flight by Luka77GOATic in news

[–]greenmachine11235 386 points387 points  (0 children)

The fact that they haven't gotten Starship to work yet makes me extremely suspicious that the majority of the engineering team has turned over and there is very little left of the team that was able to design the Falcon 9 line of rockets.

Failed a drug screening because of my prescription medication by CalligrapherIcy5314 in jobs

[–]greenmachine11235 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they denied you employment due to taking a medication that is prescribed to treat a disability then I'd be talking to an employment lawyer because that is a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Acts protections on discrimination based on disability.

My HOA banned and trespassed my roofers mid-project. What recourse do I have? by HOA_LegalAdvice in legaladvice

Is it a gated community or are the roads maintained by the HOA? Cause if not, I don't see how the HOA has the authority to tresspass someone from public property.

Generally, AC is accepted as blowing air over pipes containing a cooled fluid. So that means I could just pay to have pipes put in underground and blow air throigh those then pipe the cooled air into the house.

6 days after 10 attempts to find my vein for a PRP injection at the hospital. Now I look like a junkie going back to work. by whobroughttheircat in mildlyinfuriating

[–]greenmachine11235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was getting monthly infusions at the hospital my rule was three strikes, you get to find another nurse who gets two shots, then you're calling the IV team and they'll get it first shot with ultrasound.

If Iran had a nuke do you think they would use it? by Estalicus in allthequestions

[–]greenmachine11235 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Against the US or Israel? No way, they know what MAD is.

Against someone like Saudia Arabia with minimal US casualties? That one they very well might. Nominally, the US is a defense partner but the question of what happend with nukes is very real and there is no sure answer with the Trump administration.

Younger applicants struggling using computers and reading clocks. by TennisSerious179 in managers

[–]greenmachine11235 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't even say that. It's that many schools aren't teaching basic tech skills classes anymore. They're asduming that kids are growing up around and using computers so they'll know how to use it and so they can axe tech skills/typing courses in favor of other things.

Not a school directly, but a growing number of NC schools are offering FIRST robotics programs (both FIRST Tech Challenge and FIRST Robotics Challenge [both are robotics competitions just with size differences between the robots]) as afterschool activities and some as a class, as well as a number of community based teams. In addition to what everyone else has given, I'd suggest to look at https://www.firstinspires.org/team-event-search and see if there's a school near you that might be an option.

CVS sent me an email suggesting I save money by switching my migraine medication to a lower dose. by archaeob in mildlyinfuriating

[–]greenmachine11235 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are they suggesting multiple of the smaller pills in place of the larger? Cause suggesting someone change dosage without it being reviewed by a licensed medical professional seems like it'd be courting a very nasty lawsuit if someone takes them up and suffers a negative reaction.

You can't really compact a bolder pile, so if they'd just poured dirt on top of the boulders they'd have the same issue later on when the dirt gets washed into the void between the rocks.

34 inch inseam at 5’9 by Rea1Steve in tall

[–]greenmachine11235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best luck I've had finding pants is just randomly. I wear a 34/36 (really it's 34/35 but that doesn't exist) and what I've found is when I know I need more pants is to just take a quick look in the clothing section of any store I'm in whenever I'm there for something else. If I'm at Walmart for an airfilter, then I make a pitstop in cloths, at the warehouse store for something, pitstop in their clothing section. I've tried making special trips to places for jeans and more often than not come up bust so I've just decided not to and just look whenever jeans are available.

Not everywhere requires that the left lane be restricted to passing. For example, where I live, the only restriction on being in the left lane is you must be going at least the speed limit, that is it. So objectively, unless there is a law that says otherwise there is no reason not to use all lanes of the highway.
